1, 2 and 3 - Let's stipulate these as truth - But they do NOT drop More Pearls, they drop more general Loot. On our last hunt, 10 krays killed yielded

  • 1 Pearl

  • 3 Empty

  • 2AS components

  • 4 Krayt tissues.

The best tissue by the way was a stack of 4 +187 damage. The pearl tuned to +49 0.1 -1.

The Tissues were MUCH better.

no i wont buy that tissues dropped better for you (Good ones as in set of 6 with 150 damage or above )... thats total bantha poodoo

well you obviously dont know what your doing then ... because if ya did .. you could get at least 5 pearls per every 15 kills easy 1 in 3 dragons will drop if you know what your doing .. my only hint to you ... group size ...

Y'know, you're right - I obviously don't know what I'm doing, since I haven't bothered to find a "magic number" that increases Pearl drops.

I just play the game to have fun - Not to go all out to find ways to get what I want and/or need.

LOL .. from a jedi knight lol ...sure kid sure ..

its possible no doubt .. but 40 minute battles are not "easy" ... what is " easy" is for you to come here ( as a jedi) and say its easy .. thaaats easy ....

I have a m.bh to, actually i have 2 of them a 40 minute battle is easy but then if you dont s*ck you can drain a forcebar in 20 minutes and thats with the jedi using a holocron.

With damage powerups i hit m.def and def/force armor hybrids for 600+ each hit with ranged shot and i force them to use force to heal and the force armor to drain, on the same when i get rooted i just put up duelist stance and perhaps take synthsteak to outlast the root before knocking them down while thye have low action and keep pounding on them.

Best tactic though is to catch them off guard with no aura and snipershot or something like that. a full temp jedi is nothing compared to a prepared bh.

MsNil you have always approched your "Forum Crusades" with a little too much "Drama" for my personal taste, but I respect the time and testing you put into your posts. However of late you have kept the "Drama" method and dropped all of the "Time and Testing" in your posts.

I have read too many posts, and spoken to too many people saying that they have had very nice tunes of good crystals and pearls since the CU to buy in to your defeatist attitude.

Tiggs has already said that there will be premiums again. The change is coming whether you post or not. Rather than trying to minimalize the efforts of the older Jedi, or worse yet crusading a nerf to the over all power of the Jedi profession, you need to get out there and loot these components and stop wasting time here making false accusations over older Jedi fearing the newer ones.

No I did not Ebay. I mastered 30 professions ATK (musician was afk), I earned 37 million Jedi XP pre CU, and 13 mil Jedi xp Post CU for template changes. I also killed thousands of dragons and tuned nearly 500 crystals and pearsl.

If anyone is being lazy about improving their Jedi it is you. How many dragons could you have killed in the time you have spent trolling this forum with your wild accusations?

Theese claims that you can get a good tune from a non-premium... I label them as wild rumours and urban legends.

It's often "I know someone who", "I heard about this guy", "A friend to a friend"...
I find them as hard to believe as winning on lottery or seing a ghost.

When I unlocked (pre-cu I might add) I had about 70 fair-quality crystals stored. I tuned all of them and did not receive a single decent tune. So I spoke around, read some posts and learned that I needed premiums, maybe 20-30 or so. For the record, I completed the grind in 9 months from the day I got my character glowing. I grinded all of the Force-Sensitive experience using Pistoleer, and I grinded my current template using 1h saber without MLS. I spent approx 4-8 hours daily during that time, just grinding, cutting off the final bits of real-life I had left to finish my Jedi.

At the end of my grind almost every friend I had was grinding Jedi, and there was also internal conflicts in my guild at the time which left me out in the cold.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on ten premiums before the CU came along and whiped them out. Out of thoose 10 premiums I had 1 perfect and 1 near perfect. Now I am talking about Crystals here, so they are capped lower than pearls.

I know, that if I had bought a 2nd account back then, and created a Swordwoman with some medic and teras kasi, I would have been able to solo enough grand krayts, or nightsister elders, to get a perfect saber consisting of 4x50dmg/-9force crystals within a few weeks on Dathomir.

If I had known what I knew today, I would have done that without hesitation. I had the money for the account, the time, and the in-game credits to get all that I needed to do so. But I waited for my friends to finish since I thought we could do it together once they where done.

I have (like I said before) tuned a load of "Good" pearls post-cu, and I have never got a tune better than 50% of what I already had.

Having said that, I do not believe, truly, that there are old veteran Jedi who BELIEVE you can get a good tune from a "good" pearl. I believe there are more sinister reasons for the rumour mill. And one of the greatest is that skill would play more role than your equipment if the drops where fixed.

i dont have the answer on how to balance to post CU/PRE CU pearl problem i will agree its unfair for FRS .. and i guess being a BH .. and fearing lack of diversity in classes in this game .. i am biased in that id rather see PRE CU sabers nerfed as opposed to premiums dropping again ...

I had no problem healing away damage, perhaps your template needs sorting. First hand knowledge of amateur BHs with mediocre gear right? With the right gear a BH has no problems with a jedi. This *I* have witnessed first hand and that is my point. Every other profession can have more availible top notch equipment, while jedi get stuck with a horrible tuning system, that has a direct effect on thier weapon stats. They have to have X amount of skill points into thier profession to be able to make thier sabers, While regular professions go kill this, loot that, bring it to a weaponsmith, and have thier uber weapon. Jedi have to go kill this, loot that, pray for a nice tune in a terrible system, and repeat that at least 4 times, but more likely 1000 times to have an effective weapon.

if BH were easier i suspect you would have kept it ...

Like I had said, I never hunted Jedi, only dueled them on and off. I was only in it for the loot(boy youfolks have it made), but that got old fast so I went to something I had fun with.

but im not making a "nerf jedi post" im really not i have never done that .. this is in regards to pearls ...i suspect your take is to let them drop .. my take is to make them all post CU ...

You're making "Keep jedi nerfed" posts

but lets entertain your vision for a second .. if letting the PRE CU pearl values drop as they once did was feasable why havent the devs allowed it? do you honestly think jedi can run around with perfect sabers and that they wont get nerfed if they do?

They haven't nerfed your super guns with super accuracy super speed and super action costs. In fact as of late they made it way easier for you to have those super guns. It's our and other melee professions turn to make our weapon enhancers better, and more availible.

my point about hunting jedi being hard wasnt to accent a nerf request .. im just saying ... i think things are balanced right now ... if more jedi had perfect sabers i honestly think youd be looking at possible nerfs again ... and i think thats the MAIN REASON they were turned off .. in fACT .. TIGGS states that as trhe main reason they were turned off

Well I disagree completely, I think things are stacked way to much in favor of the Ranged Professions. Ranged Arms, Armor Break Resistant Armor, Amazing weapon Enhancers, Roots. You guys have everything you need. While the melee classes get the shaft.

No the main reason that premiums don't drop is becauseof the combat level of the krayts. They used to be what 280ish, so they lowered it but didn't adjust the loot tables. They didn't do it to chokeoff a Jedi's ability to have an effective weapon, they did it you make that content more assesable to the masses. If they did it to keep jedi from having a decent weapon , they wouldn't be looking into a new way to implement them. They're response would have been more like "Sorry but these pearl drops have been deamed unbalancing and will not be re-implemented back into the game."

And I don't know about your server but on Bria krayts arean endangered specie.Driving around for hours and not seeing anything but the non-loot droping Grands and Adolesence. The occasional Juvi/Canyon pair very reminicent of krayt hunting Pre-Cu. Yet the pearl drop rate is way worse and the quaility is just as bad.

I do not believe they are THAT noobish. Pre-CU you had to run through maybe 20-30 PREMIUMS to get a good saber, and the first thing I learned was that even Quality pearls where not worth the inventory space, so people made their alt's into krayt/nightsisterkillers and farmed premiums/flawlesslike crazy.Come on, everybody know this.

There's a real reason they dont want the rest to have access to what they have.

Fear...

A lack of trust in their own capabilities.

When they lose their better-equipment handicap all their comments about them being a "skilled pvp player" would be handed to them by players who really have the skill.

They do not know if it's thanks to them or their saber they win fights, so they know thatif everybody player have an equal chance, they fear they will start to lose... alot... and quickly drop back into being a nobody. And that can drive many players to sacrifice their credibility as an old-timer and make absurd claims like "Sure you can tune a good tune with a Good pearl" on the forum (which is like saying things like "Sure there are force-boosting food" or "My friend saw this holorecording and died after 7 days" or make up other kinds of insane urban legends that speak directly against all knowledge, the official F.A.Q's, and all common sense).

Also many of theese players know they have a golden ticket to the top right now, and they want that free ride once the FRS is re-enabled.

Many of theese players have taken every advantage they ever could to reach the top, and you better believe it, everything to using the best and most extreme grindtactics and flightclubs. And now they are accusing everybody else, becouse somewhere inside they feel ashamed.

Do anybody actually believe someone can grind a Jedi in 2 weeks? Are you REALLY that stupid to believe that crap? Or are you just trying to convince yourself that you are better becouse all the shortcuts you took was "better" and more "honorable"?

I have always said the best way to cut down the Jedi population is to look for Selfish posts on the forum. A true Jedi should not be selfish or greedy. Boot thoose and we improve our genepool, erase alot of childish attitudes and also improve our reputation amongst non-jedi.

And it also cut short some urban legends that dumbs down the community.

Anyway: Next time you see someone claiming "I have a perfect saber, go tune "good" ones", remember that he will be the first one put against the wall when the premiums start to drop again - and they know it.

Well I guess we will have to agree that we disagree. Becausepre-cu weapons did not convert as well as the weapons that can be crafted today. How many of your Pre-cu Scatter pistols converted 948 Max Damage / 67 SAC / 1.9 speedwith a 62 accuracy Bonus? Then throw a Power up on it and have it sliced. How can some new Jedi with a 550 max Saber with 30+ fc compete with that??

you find me ONE .. ONE pistol being sold on the trade forums with such a rating .. and i will agree that they are as common as PRE CU sabers .. until you do ... theres is NO WAY you can say those weapons are ready available.. those are extremely rare .. i know i was a master pistoleer for a long time

and even with a pistol like that you wont hit a jedi for more than 400 and will still miss 25% of your hits

yes well it sold for 6 mill ... and on our server those are a lot rarer ... i suspect this was the only one around for a long time ..this post itself is a month old ...but ill concede the fact you found one ... hehe

but they are still a lot rarer then perfect sabers ... and still do less damage ... ( 948 is cap btw)

Yes it sold for 6 million, and 1 Flawless pearl with no guarantee of a decent tune sells for 50+ million and Premiums are selling for 20 million. I know that each server varies to some degree, but buying a fully capped weaponis generally as simple as doing a Galaxy vendor search or contacting your usual weaponsmith and you can have it in 1 -2 days. I am not saying that all new Jedi should be handed a "perfect saber" with 4 120 -9 -.29 pearls in it, but they should and deserve the right to be able to aquire the component to attempt to slowly work their way to a close to perfect saber. When you do a BH mission and loot a 180 max damage Power Cell, there is no lottery or roll of the dice on how the weapon is going to turn out...it is not going to be crafted and have a max damageof 600. A component like that is a guarantee that you will end up with a nice weapon. I have a decent saber, my force cost needs to be a bit lower, but it helps keep me alive and I can still have fun in PvE and PvP. I still would like the opportunity to improve my saber and also help my friends that have sabers with a little over half that damage that mine is. Good pearls are not a viable solution. I have tuned well over 100 good pearls and my best tune was something like 94 -3, most tuned in the 30 - 60 range with fc varying from -9 down to -2. There has to be a solution to this issue that has already gone on for over 4 months and sticking another bug filled expansion at us with the rumors that Premiums will be offered as quest rewards is a load of crap in my opinion.

Well, some might, I grinded 22 proffessions in 5 months. But after post-publish 9, you dont need 3rd party programs at all, you don't need to focus on proffessions, loose your favorite proffession and de-socialise because you are in middle of a weird template that you can't join hunts or parties. You didnt need to sacrifice post-Publish 9. You spend tons of money just to get resources and all..

I would rather like to meet a Jedi who made that muchproffessions in 2 weeks. However, what you are here prooving MsNil is the hate between generations is not one-sided... I was telling about "template completing" in 3-4 weeks. Not unlocking. Now you felt offended because even you thinking "new jedi getting it easier THAN you" and counter striked.

See what I mean?

Balance yourself first before trying to balance others opinions.

Capping weapon xp 124 times may sound easy to some, but it took alot of time. I sacrificed alot of my real-life to do it, wounds that I have started to repair first now.

It took me 4,5 months to unlock under that system and 3,5 months to finish the Jedi grind after that. I was among thoose who spent 4-8 hours daily to grind, and I used the most effective tactics I could come up with, but towards the end I just couldnt physically do it as my real-life body was beginning to breakdown after the many hours in front of the computer. I jacked up on heaps of caffeine and occasionally a drink just to make it easier.

The sologrind killed our guild. We are five people left from fifty before pub-9. Many of my good old friends from the time left the game. We where all there, but everybody ran off to grind on their own, so what was left was a glorified chat and no time to talk between lairs. We have tried to go back to what we had pre-pub-9 but it just isnt possible.

So to say it was not without sacrifices is BS.

And the story doesnt end there. I have several friends who couldnt finish their grind before the CU, that have been forced to do most of their grind post-cu. One of my friend have reached 11 months now and she have 1.2 million left to grind. Before the vis-group fix she had ~10 bounty hunter visits daily. Some popped up within 5 minutes from logging on. She is grinding with a lightsaber that do ~340 damage. Her husbound have been out daily grinding pearls for her but unfortunate they all tune to crap (she's very unlucky with the tunes).

That's the story I come back to whenever people claim post-cu is all bells and whistles. I do not believe in the rumours about weekly templates. I base all my opinions on what I have seen with my own eyes.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I think that one of the biggest disconnects in this whole "good" vs "premium" argument is the assumption that Premiums always tuned well.

I have tuned around 500 crystals and pearls in my time as a Jedi. Of those I would say half were premiums. Of those 250 premiums I would say that only 10% of them tuned to at or above +100 dmg, -8 FC and -.20spd. Of the Quality rated pearls/crystals I would say 5% tuned with those stats. Of the Good/Fair/Poor it would probably be more like 1%.

The Premiums took 10 X longer to acquire than the others, so if you chose to hunt for Good/Fair/Poor pearls/crystals you would have acquired 10 X as many of them than you did of the Premiums. With these numbers it is easy to see that over all the time/reward for a "Premium" vs a "Good" is the same.

The truth is that even if premiums were dropping today most people would not want to put in the effort to acquire 250 of them to make a perfect saber. This is evidenced by their current lack of desire to acquire hundreds of "good" crystals that drop like flies in todays game to achieve the same perfect saber.
