1) only one buff per sl allowed now (so no 1 sl can give every buff to a player)

2) no personal buffs given to yourself if you have sl

3) defensive buffs work wonders and a sl can grant them to a Jedi as easily as a BH

the problem was when this test was done

you could have a single sl give you steadyaim + volleyfire + blaze of glory + high yeild - that player then did

snipershot or critical shot or advanced legshot

be thankful that called shot and paint target did not get into the combo

now to have the same effect you would need at least 3 SLs buffing the BH (including himself if he gave up some skills to do it)

otoh I wonder how the fight would have gone if

the Jedi had all those applied by his team mates every 1/2 time that the buff would run out and or had

toughen + tactics + call to arms applied to them.

Forgive me if i read this wrong picking on point no 3. since the BH have 1st Hit don't they have time to prepare, in turn although its not really realated a BH at present on live can get Doctor buffs and eat or drink food, before or once he/she has found his bounty giving him/her the advantage over the Jedi who is not buffed or eaten any food thus with the enhancements to the attacks given out bya riffle with the SL buffs, won't even give the Jedi time to eat or drink to increase his/her defencives,. doesn't that leave the Jedi vunrable when been attackedby the BH hunter who has inadvancedgot the new squad leader enhancements or am I way off track here.

To cut a long story short. if at all possible, BH gets Jedi mission, Finds the Jedi, finds a SL (prefably in his guild or pay someone money) The Jedi is checking the bazzar or waiting for his guild mates. Then PoW. down goes the Jedi wondering what hits him.

you missed the point in 2 areas

1 SL does not a win make now. It is the same as a doc buff before combat (since you can only have 1 group buff per sl in your group and can not place a personal buff on yourself)

and

the Jedi has the option of having those same buffs. If they are unprepared it is no different then it is right now in that if you do not have a buff or ran out of force pool before the BH attacked you are screwed. If you have the buffs and the SL buffs you face em head on

Although, doc buffs don't in live currently effect the fight between the BH and the Jedi that much, since i have kill doc/BH in the past by what i am reading here, the amount of damage given out by the BH with a SL buff far exceeds the amount they can give out previously on live without it. So if this damage stays the same, its yet another thumbs up for the BH and thumbs down to the Jedi.

Not having a doc buff is far less detrimental than not having a SL buff or someone having one currently on TC. It is extremely powerful. Too powerful. One hit kills too powerful. Not the same as not having a Doc buff that you can suck foods to compensate.

SO... if I want to log in with my Jedi for an hour or so and go PvE or PvP, the first thing I need to do is find an SL?

No advantage so large should be available dependent upon interaction with other players - remember Doc Buffs before the CU...?

Sopose if it did stay the same, you could increase the % of saber block, but you would have to put the value of the same amount in the force rank trees taking away the current skills thats increases it a small fraction now, prefably increasing it as you progress though the ranks, so it benefits the jedi no matter what template he chooses.

I mean lets be realistic a Jedi is Jedi he/she shouldnt need SL buffs anyway.

seems you all missed the other point as well

1 sl does not a instant kill make - only one group buff now per sl in the group

if you quit the group you lose it.

The major issue has been pointed out was that 1 sl could lay all the buffs on a player by himself - that is no longer possible.

I would also the defensive buffs are quite strong (up to 25% more resistance) and if you have them an alpha strike means nothing

to say that a Jedi needs to find an SL everytime they log in is to say that BH will have to do the same thing as well. it is not all one sided like it is being presented as. As for SL buffs they do work on Jedi the same as they work on BH - so goose and gander are the same

The problem with your suggestion is Jedi don't get to pick when an attack happens. We don't get to insure that we have those buffsso it's rather pointless to say, "Well you'll be fine so long as you have an SL of your own." I have had BHs run away from me when they saw I had the health crystal buff on. Do you think they'll stick around when I have an SL buff going or do you think they'll just come back and find me when I don't have one?And with this change, according to you, I have to have an SL attached to my hip any time I leave my house or if I die it's my fault for not being prepared. Gosh, that sounds like a fun way to play.

Oh and I almost forgot, with the debuff change we won't be able to run away either. I think we have a right to be concerned.

What are you the Iraqi Information Minister? "No no Beta does not exist, no no no such thing as SL/BH hitting that hard"

The NDA has been lifted enough to post current information that is happening. Lets just hope SOE pulls a rabbit out of the hat before the 10 days when this hits live is up. Judging by their track record, I loosely say miracle.

Excuse me but who are you to say that to me? You should also get your facts right before you come off with a comment like that.

This is what TH said about the NDA:

Greetings,

Feel free to tell your friends about Star Wars Galaxies: The Trials of Obi Wan! Now that portions of the beta NDA have been lifted, you can talk about the expansion.

However, keep in mind that we are lifting the NDA for discussion of game content and features. Do not discuss the expansion with respect to bugs, feedback, communication between SOE or LEC and the beta testers, or other confidential communication regarding the beta.

About the Beta Boards

One of the big advantages of having beta boards is that the development team can get focused feedback and interact more closely with the community. We want this interaction to continue, but we need your help.

The Beta Boards are going to remain open and the only people who will be able to see the boards are people who have been invited into the beta Test.

If you are going to discuss the Trials Of Obi-Wan Expansion for Star Wars Galaxies, please continue holding discussions on the ToW discussion forum as well as post your issues and focused feedback in the appropriate threads in the Trials of Obi-Wan beta testing forums.

Thank you very much.

Hate to break it to you bud, these changes are on the regular Test Center. They are SL changes, nothing to do with Obi-Wan. Just FYI

When I'm testing you can call on my services, np. IGN on BETA is Resead. Just to warn you though I'm not playing due to work until Friday-Sunday. Rarely do I get a chance to play this game until then....thank my baby girl for that one.

Personally saying all Jedi need to do is find a SL and get the appropriate buff, then everything is equal......totallyunfair given the BH/Jedi relationship.

When jedi are allowed to hunt BH's at any time then that is when you can quote "what is good for the goose..."
