1) only one buff per sl allowed now (so no 1 sl can give every buff to a player)

2) no personal buffs given to yourself if you have sl

3) defensive buffs work wonders and a sl can grant them to a Jedi as easily as a BH

the problem was when this test was done

you could have a single sl give you steadyaim + volleyfire + blaze of glory + high yeild - that player then did

snipershot or critical shot or advanced legshot

be thankful that called shot and paint target did not get into the combo

now to have the same effect you would need at least 3 SLs buffing the BH (including himself if he gave up some skills to do it)

otoh I wonder how the fight would have gone if

the Jedi had all those applied by his team mates every 1/2 time that the buff would run out and or had

toughen + tactics + call to arms applied to them.

I shall await the next BH then. Again, the attacks came yesterday after they supposedly changed it so Sniper wasn't supposed to be the uber one hit kill. Even with the changes I was hit for over 2.9k of damage on the opening attack. But still, I thought the way it worked is no single buffs can be done if you are the SL (to yourself) however the group buffs will work on you. Is that still not how it works or was that changed today?

no single target buffs to yourself as a SL

only one group buff per sl

If this was all done on Beta, then this post should not even exist.

testing should be done on things that ARE coming soon... giving jedi a perfect saber or flawless pearls on the beta is an act of retardation

What are you the Iraqi Information Minister? "No no Beta does not exist, no no no such thing as SL/BH hitting that hard"

The NDA has been lifted enough to post current information that is happening. Lets just hope SOE pulls a rabbit out of the hat before the 10 days when this hits live is up. Judging by their track record, I loosely say miracle.

Excuse me but who are you to say that to me? You should also get your facts right before you come off with a comment like that.

This is what TH said about the NDA:

Greetings,

Feel free to tell your friends about Star Wars Galaxies: The Trials of Obi Wan! Now that portions of the beta NDA have been lifted, you can talk about the expansion.

However, keep in mind that we are lifting the NDA for discussion of game content and features. Do not discuss the expansion with respect to bugs, feedback, communication between SOE or LEC and the beta testers, or other confidential communication regarding the beta.

About the Beta Boards

One of the big advantages of having beta boards is that the development team can get focused feedback and interact more closely with the community. We want this interaction to continue, but we need your help.

The Beta Boards are going to remain open and the only people who will be able to see the boards are people who have been invited into the beta Test.

If you are going to discuss the Trials Of Obi-Wan Expansion for Star Wars Galaxies, please continue holding discussions on the ToW discussion forum as well as post your issues and focused feedback in the appropriate threads in the Trials of Obi-Wan beta testing forums.

Thank you very much.

yeah, because the devs historically listen really well to the community.....Like during the CU beta, and on TC. The voices in the forums were shrugged off as the vocal minority. Those kind of practices do not promote proper testing and feedback. The people who put a lot of time and effort into testing the CU and giving their honest feedback were hushed with poor reasoning and excuses.

I do find it interesting that Jedi are so scared of Squad Leaders now, who have been the laughing stock of the game since launch, profession-wise.
Regardless, you do need to calm down somewhat. If you think that we Squad Leaders are screaming for more power, you're quite thoroughly mistaken. We have expressed these concerns to the development team, and have been given responses. I should know, being that one of my suggestions completely changed the face of the Squad Leader revamp as it was currently being developed. Previously, there was going to be a situation where any dabbling in the profession gave you full power on buffs ... my recommendation was to fix and implement the "Leadership" skill in order to regulate buff power and discourage full-power dabblers.
The Devs took the SL revamp down and changed this shortly after the post suggestion started receiving so much positive praise and attention from the community, and the Leadership skill is now an active part of Squad Leader.
Please do not do what so many of you have with other things and scream for nerf bats to be swung at our profession. We have been neglected for over two years with the single most broken profession in this game, and we really need this revamp. Please try to keep what you are saying on a courteous level and respond to the feedback threads. The Devs *are* monitoring them. The success I had with my suggestion being implemented is proof of that.
No one in the Squad Leader community wants to have MSL / MBH's running amok one-shotting Jedi. We DON'T want to be the new FOTM. We want to be a support profession, leading our squads while having a noticeable impact in combat with our squad. That's it.

i have no problem with SL getting a revamp, as they deeply need it. I do however have a problem with the way its being implemented. It follows the same poor implementation techniques as the rest of the content/balances that this sub par development team has come to be known for.

Forgive me if i read this wrong picking on point no 3. since the BH have 1st Hit don't they have time to prepare, in turn although its not really realated a BH at present on live can get Doctor buffs and eat or drink food, before or once he/she has found his bounty giving him/her the advantage over the Jedi who is not buffed or eaten any food thus with the enhancements to the attacks given out bya riffle with the SL buffs, won't even give the Jedi time to eat or drink to increase his/her defencives,. doesn't that leave the Jedi vunrable when been attackedby the BH hunter who has inadvancedgot the new squad leader enhancements or am I way off track here.

I love how you dontfocus onthat. These squad changes are CONTENT and FEATURES to be discussed. Get on a brigade of deletion then, because there are hundreds of these threads out there and they are not being deleted, because they dont exist. And dont take my comment too seriously.... it was merely all in fun.

"Do not discuss the expansion with respect to bugs, feedback, communication between SOE or LEC and the beta testers, or other confidential communication regarding the beta."

His experinces with the squad leader content (WHICH IS ON TESTCENTER 1) I might add, does not fall into this. Its not a bug, its not feedback, communication between SOE or LEC and surely not confidential.

To cut a long story short. if at all possible, BH gets Jedi mission, Finds the Jedi, finds a SL (prefably in his guild or pay someone money) The Jedi is checking the bazzar or waiting for his guild mates. Then PoW. down goes the Jedi wondering what hits him.

Nothing since SL buffs dont work on the Jedi when they have a BH TEF. Yet they can group their droid and have them work for themselves.
