fair enough you are entitled to your opinion but just as a FYI it really does make you sound like an elitest "don't care about anyone else Jedi" that some BH's are trying to brand Jedi

would not surprise me.....they change the rules of the game to favor the weak and unwilling
weak in skill
unwilling in desire to be better
how many of you spent weeks hunting giants and ancients before the rumored release date of the cu? the peeps that have enuff perfect pearls did this. the assclowns that are constantly whining about pearls/crystals either were not around then and have not invested enuff time in this game (i am a prepatch 9 jedi and yes i believe you have not earned jedi) or they chose not to go out and hunt dragons to stock up.
to all those king whiners out there....i hope you enjoy your game when there is no one to play against.
exactly what it says.........if you were not around before cu and you already have a full templated knight after only 3 months of play, i say you did not learn enuff about the game to be an effective voice. if you are trying to get into an argument about deserving it or not then troll elsewhere. i was under the impression that being a jedi meant you were 20 times stronger than a regular profession (per TH's exact words pre patch 5) not this watered down crap that 90% of the current jedi have dragged us into or helped nerf us into. 1.5 times as powerful as a reg prof is not acceptable. again, if you are trying to suck up to people for appearing to be on the side of the whiners or newer jedi then seek a flame war elsewhere....it is my opinion and you will not get me to argue with you for trolling sake.
if being an elitest means getting what was promised us pre patch 3 then i am indeed that. i do not feel like we have gotten near what we were told was coming, not what we "deserve." no one deserves jack! all i am saying is that 1.5 times is unacceptable. and on the note of what i said....how is it possible that some completed jedi that signed up for the game the day of CU with his big ole total experience box that did nothing but grind his player to one goal and has mastered a whopping 1 prof and essentially mastered jedi have any input in overall game mechanics and balance when he has played a whopping total of 2 profs? that is what i mean by he has not earned the right to cry for nerfs when he has no clue what he is crying for balance against. is like a dancer crying for commando nerfs when the 2 will never fight any way. go join WOW and ruin their veterans game. they have invested far less time than the veterans in this game.
I'm sorry but I don't consider grinding out profs as any more deserving than the new system, both Jedi did the work the devs laid down to get it so both Jedi have earned the right to it. Just because you and other pre-Jedi did it sooner does not mean that their opinions are the only ones that matter over post 9, post cu or future Jedi under a new system if it comes out.
Oh and another thing, I have been playing since the euro servers came up so I am a Vet as well so I have invested my own fair share of time, does that make my opinion more important than yours because my forum reg date is older than yours???? No, that would be elitest of me to think that.
Anyone who has Jedi has equal right to chip in and have their say on their prof, their was not a cut off point as to when you are allowed an opinion
Oh and I tried Wow and thought it didn't need anymore ruining, but hey thats my opinion, other people think it is the best mmorpg ever born, so hey what you gonna do
to have constructive thoughts would be a major leap forward for most of these newer jedi or newer players. the vast majority simply cry nerf and/or hand me this or that. crying for balance when they have no clue what they are crying for is the definition of ignorance. i have played not grinded out every profession in this game. i unlocked on prof 31 and grinded out bh to say i had done them all, plus pilot when it was out. when someone has played over 16 dif profs i would say they have a clue as to how the other profs work in this game. until then they are simply stating things they have seen or heard and we all know how reliable that type of information can be. they watch a hybrid pvper tank 4 or 5 mediocre jedi players and automatically cry for a nerf of all pikeman because of this one incident they saw. or they cry nerf on one cloaker that managed to escape a gank squad they were invovlve in. most cries for balance in this game come from jealousy of ability or lack of knowledge of how the game is played. period.
Yeah I do agree with you here, and that is what we mostly get to see on these boards. It is very rare for me to get involved in a discussion/arguement thread for this sole reason, so it is nice to get some well thought out posting for a change. But time ingame does not always equal this, thats just more generalisation that will just perpetuate the divide between the new player and Vets andimho this is a very bad thing.
My hat is off to you if you have managed to do this as you would have had very good knowledge of prof in the old days but unfortunately most of that has now gone out the window and may potentially cause you to want to hang on to the old days, hey I don't blame you, most of my best times in this game come from "the old days". But that still does not invalidate the newer players opinions. And anyway it is always fairly easy to weed out the "special peoples" posts that do not really understand this game from the well thought out ones. With some simple guidance some of these newer players can make a very valuable contribution to this game.
I am a Hybrid Pre-cu/Post-cu Jedi. 6 months in grinding under the old system then the rest in CU. My saber was craptastic, 547 dmg 30 fcupon templating. Since then, I have gone way out of my way to build my saber to something respectable. I have spent 80 million on pearls, maybe more I lose track, btw I made those credits all post-cu as well. It's no where near perfect, but I have worked very hard on making the credits necessary to upgrade the saber. I now can consider myself "pre-cu" because of the saber I currently possess. I do not think that any Paddy would even remotely complain if they had the same oppurtunity as I. Now with the premiums not dropping and rumors of cache's being deleted its becoming near impossible for the post-cu Jedi to improve themselves. Have the Premiums drop here and there i.e. maybe 2 a day per server randomly. They still would be worth a ton, and SOE would get to string many more Jedi along for the ride as they earned the credits necessary to build a decent weapon.
Oh and one more thing, if you all have not realized it, every new profession features that SOE has been cooking up all smell like add ons to BH to make our lives even more miserable in one way or another.

That line about the pearl caches being deleted rang a bell for me, our guild had approximately 40 or so premium/flawless stored in a restricted house and just before CU.. they all disappeared, we never found out what happened to them and CSRs were less than helpful regarding it.surprise surprise.. So we spent the last 4 days before CU farming the hell out of Krayts managing to recover almost the same amount as what we lost..
Still wish I knew what happened to all those pearls.. its quite a sore spot..

Everyone jumped the bandwagon and clamored, "We are doomed!".
the problem is the devs dont communicate with us and leave everything to assumption and of course people start to panic,if they would just say "hey, dont worry guys, thats not gonna happen" then there wouldnt be nearly as much panic ridden threads on here
Reasons why the Devs would want to make changes.
1. They have stated that they do not want high end saber components farmable.
2. They have stated that they want these components to be related to high end quests.
3. There is a large disparity between post CU sabers and pre CU sabers stats.
4. There is a large disparity between the SAC of Jedi and non Jedi weapons.
5. There is a large disparity between what it takes to acquire the best non Jedi weapon versus the best Jedi weapon. (The current scenario seems out of balance due to the relatively minor strength increase between Jedi and non Jedi templates).
6. The lack of continuity between sabers does not allow for effective balancing and fundamental changes to be made to the various Jedi disciplines.
Solutions.
1. Allow the looting of premium saber components from quest related high end boss mobs (premium is defined as better than those available from lower end mobs) with a stat bonus more in line with the current diferences between color crystals and named color crystals.
2. Increase the effects of the resources used in the crafting process on the finished product. This would serve to provide more meaning to being a MLS rather than a dabbler. (I have played a WS for nearly two years and let me tell you no other weapon in the game has tighter caps than a light saber).
3. Revert all current saber components to fall within the new ranges.
4. Enable the SAC reducing properties on the components that are currently disabled.
5. Continue to allow the farming of "good" and below saber components as a balance to the availability of Krayt tissue loots. (I expect the availability of BH looted reinforced casings and enhanced power cells to decline, but the damage is already done)
6. Use the damage and SAC modifiers on specials to increase or decrease power as needed.

That'll be it for a lot of jedi, its not fair that we managed to get our crap together before it got broken and are going to get penalized for it. It just flat out isn't.
And I don't want to hear and bullsht about the current sabers staying better in the new system because that's what they promised us w/ the CU that miserably failed to convert our weapons.
too many whiners, jedi nerfing jedi is all this game is now.... the same jedi that don't want FRS to be PVP...the same jedi who want to eliminate XP loss.... the same jedi that.....
Sad but true
Ill not be crass enough to put those games down but I am not going to be a hobbit ever.
