Thread: A BH asking Jedi if this is an exploit
First and foremost. Telling me that this is a lame tactic is irrelivent. Either I lose XP or I don't. Had I fought and killed Jakber I would have gained me the same results as having a frined /db me. So why should I take an unnecessary risk of losing XP? I have no desire to be the content of a BH and could careless about his gameplay experiance. If he wants to collect on me he going to have to be alitte more inconspicuious.
Second, For thoes of you who say Jedi should not act this way and luke wouldnt have obi-wan or yoda kill him to get away from Boba.....This is not the Movies! This is SWG where continuity went out the window as soon as the first Jedi appeared in game. Heres why, The Jedi Order is in shambles we all saw that happen at the end of episode 3. Currently Yoda is the only living Jedi and luke isnt even a padawan yet. I don't recall O'etam Rendar going before the Jedi Council and being titled a Padawan. There are no Jedi! SWG is just flat wrong. Hence my sig. Notice How I title my character USER OF THE FORCE. You are not a JEDI! Just cause you are FS and wield a LS does not make you a Jedi. You have to be a member of the Jedi order and only the Jedi Council can do that which was destroyed a long time ago. Yoda is the only member left and I dont recall him being ingame. Maybe I missed him?
And Finally for thoes of you who say im wrong becuase Jedi Is a PvP profession and I should not avoid fighing. Im Special Forces 50% of my game time, Just not when Im grinding or looting. Which at the time I was doing the latter. Theres no XP loss in SF.
Hate me or Love me I dont care. This is my character and I will play it how I think is permitted by the TOS and User AGREEMENT. (emphasis on how "I THINK") Im in it for my experiance. If a BH is going to take pride in causeing me XP loss then Im going to do my best to not be his content. I dont see what the problem is its one sided if you ask me. I die I lose XP, Jakber Dies he loses nothing. Im not gonna play that game.

Not True.
Think about it "Doc" when does a smart BH attack his mark?
When your Mark is either PVPn or PVE.
I was out PVPn with my guild when we came across some OVERT Imps so we started attacking them...I was going down Fast so i decieded to Force run out of there when my health was down to about 20% and Force pull was down to 5%, all of a sudden I get hit with a root and go down in about 2 shots.
Hey Guess what? its a BH..who didn't cause 80% of the damage and he wasn't the one who made me use 95% of my force pool, but he gets the kill and the Money.
Is that considered a "Exploit", I don't think so..IMO.

My final statement on your final statement on this issue.
You are abusing a system to avoid getting killed by a "n00b" bounty hunter. Your pathetic behavior and pvp skills will lead to me getting nerfed, as has happened with every abuse that a minority of jedi use that affects the greater, and more distinguished, jedi community.

utill then it's all opinion.

Yep.
OMG. That is such a total exploit. I would never do that. I would be afraid of being banned and disgraced as a player. Though I don't know how they could stop it. just like you can't stop a jedi from running into a herd of rancor to get killed instead of having a firend do it. Honor system, but it should be bannable if your caught doing it.

Jakber wrote:I posted a similiar message in BH forum but I would like to know what the opinions of all jedi are:I tracked my jedi mark and found him hanging out on his speeder. I attacked and missed his speeder which got me a tell from jedi stating "Lol, you noob". Asked him to check /getvet to see who noob is, well anyways, on to what I really want to know. I started to gain the upper hand and had him almost dead when all of a sudden the jedi has a friend walk up next to him. Next thing I know I see the jedi is a corpse. I didnt do the DB.I told the jedi he used an exploit to get away from me, he responds " this isnt an exploit having a friend db and it wasnt a fair fight anyways because I had no force". Force or no force thats not my problem but having a friend db to avoid a BH db, is this an exploit? or as intended? is this reportable? just curious. Ask many jedi, I am an honourable BH that plays fairly and so I expect the same.
Play your character how you choose, its my 15 bucks a month so I will play as I see fit. The minute the devs or tiggs post that its an exploit I will stop but until then your opinion is well.....your opinion. Also the reason I called you a noob is because your sorry attempt at stalking was pathetic. It was easy to tell you were a BH the way you loaded into Sumgglers Luck and headed straight for my direction immediatly. If I were you I would have gone straight to the mission terminals to make it look like you had a reason to be there. But what do I know? I was only one of the most senior BH's on the server until I became a Jedi a few months back. Just the fact that your whining about this says alot about you. There is a way to collect on me but it just seems like your too lazy to collect. You dont deserve my bounty noob. I have mastered the art of thinking outside the box, If you want to collect on me you will have to do so as well. Or get another Jedi's mission. I have nothihng to prove to you I could care less about being honorable. My only goal is to become finished template, Not fight with you. Your adjenda is not mine.
Oh and another thing. /getvet only proves how long you have been opening your wallet to SOE. Noobness is determined by your skill lvl.Message Edited by RoundWallKing on 09-14-2005 01:46 PM

That's just it some people may not want to be involved in forced player versus player. Everyone has their own play style wether it be pvp, solo, or cooperative play. You cant fault them if they dont want to fight you and if they figure a way out of it because they feel forced to pvp or what ever their reasons may be. To each their own i guess. All i know is that the bh forum and the jedi forum are just so saturated with posts like this. I really think SOE needs to find some way to ease this contention between jedi and bounty hunters, wether it be a more clear set of rules for visibility to avoid pvp if you choose, a way to check visibility, vaulantary pvp like the gcw, or scrapp the whole bh vs jedi thing. Some thing, anything would be nice. Sorry peeps i lean more towards the jedi side of the argument. I was a bounty hunter and didnt like killing jedi too much because it just felt wrong to make them loose xp. Cant fault me for that either because thats just how i felt. Any how flame on flame on.

another idea...
Run inside a krayt ancient they insta db
or if you a cloaker use area on krayts cloak && run near the bh the ancient use area hits on you & also on the bh but as cloak you get no damage
Then just db the bh. Hav try this yesterday on captin- ...was fun & works well
i think that isnt an exploit but a use of the environnement considering your skills... & animal control miss me too much too

Players like you are why they should bring back things like saber TEF and xp loss in PvE.

overloading a saber is clearly and exploit. Putting more crystals in a saber than what the game defines goes beyond the mechanics of the game.
It's gets hard to tell what's an exploit and what's not an exploit in these situations because it's not a simple scenario, and we don't really know what was intended by the devs because they are vague sometimes.
If it's an exploit the devs will eventually come out and say it and fix it, eventually.
For now though it does not go beyond the scope of the game mechanics, so as much as I find it very cheap, it's not an exploit.

Then they never should have become Jedi. Being hunted by BH's is part of having that character. The player who CHOOSES to play a Jedi makes that choice right there. Nobody forced anything on them.
I'd also like to point out that abbink's theory of using PvP so that you don't have to be forced to PvP may be a bit flawed.
He had his chance to run, instead he talked trash. He stood and fought, and when he saw that he was gonna lose, he had his friend come over and deathblow him.
He was not aversed to PvP, he made no attempt to run or get inside of a safe-house. He used a PvP mechanic to take advantage of another PvP mechanic. Why does everyone make this out to be a huge war? It's obviously cheap, and if not directly exploiting then at least highly questionable use of game-mechanics. This isn't about jedi/BH love/hate, it's about a guy who was gonna lose and couldn't cope so he cheaped his way out. Sounds like a little kid to me.
