I agree with your post that math is something you really enjoy. So, now that I can see you arent campaigning, I feel comfortable now asking youforassistance on your weekly postings. Please, if you could, show the #'s and order of math for the following scenario:
"If you are traveling on a westbound train headed to Denverat 37 mph and a dog howls at the moon in Northern Mexico at 3:35pm cdt, whats thetotal depth of theBlack Sea?" -kidding, bad grade school math word problems, lol...lost my taste for math after these! hehe
You are hit by a laser rifle for 1000 pts of dmg & have Improved Aura + Improved Armor + Master Defender all working together, what is the order and depth of mitigation as well as the final total dmg taken. If your previous post (or combo of a few of these points) answers my question, just point me to them and I will re-examine.
3. Decide DamageRange Reduction (Defense Mitigation)
4. Multiply Damage
5. Mitigate Damage based on armor
The reduction for pvp damage is -35%.
The most difficult part to explain is number 2, and I still havnt cracked the exact numbers, despite heavy testings.
I hope I can make you understand the procedure, if you dont, let me know.
If you have 0 defense and the attacker have 0 accuracyyou will take 1000 damage. Thats it.
Note: Lightsabers are more difficult to mitigate since their range is only about 95, not 500 like the rifle... So Force Aura have not as much effect in Jedi vs Jedi battles.
Examples:
Rifle:Advanced Laser Rifle: 462-924, 462 Range (50%)
Rifle: T21 Rifle: 705-1250 Damage, 545 Range (43,6%)
Pistol: FWG5: 489-1008, 519 Range (51,5%)
Lightsaber: 539-635, 96 Range (15%)
Polearm: Vibro Lance: 470-971, 501 Range (51,5%)
Knuckler: Vibro Knuckler: 179-458, 279 (61%)

If I should just guess, the forcecost for upholding Force Armor and Force Aura at the same time will be abnormal... but it will offer a good defense against Riflemen. A very small difference in Jedi vs Jedi battles though.

There u are, help the dumb jedi understand plz.
Efficency or damage wise. with improved force armor.
I can take 0040 defender.
Is the differance worthwile? Id like to take the fun, and benefits of cloak. But if i can geta big boost in defence in addition to my imp force armor, might have to bite the bullet and pick a branch of defender and forget cloak.

A rough numberis that a regular rifle is in pvp mitigated by about 83% by a master defender and 85,5% by a master defender/0400 Enhancer.
That do not take a PSG in consideration, but counts damage range reduced by 45% through aura, only possible against a few specific weapons (not Lightsabers). Read more below.
The order is something like:
1. Damage
2. PvP Reduction
3. Decide DamageRange Reduction (Defense Mitigation)
4. Multiply Damage
5. Mitigate Damage based on armor
2. PvP Reduction
The reduction for pvp damage is -35%.
3. Decide Damage Range Reduction (Defense Mitigation)
The most difficult part to explain is number 2, and I still havnt cracked the exact numbers, despite heavy testings.

The damage you say is 1000. However, I need to know the minimum/maximum damage and the attackers accuracy.
Let's say that you have a rifle that do 500-1000 damage.
If you have 0 defense and the attacker have 0 accuracyyou will take 1000 damage. Thats it.
However, the more defense you haveabove the accuracy of your attacker, the further the 1000 goes down towards 500.
Witha VERY high defense, such as Master Defender with Force Aura and Pikatta Pie, you may almost reach the bottom, which in this case means that you actually mitigated 50% damage by defense!
Note: Lightsabers are more difficult to mitigate since their range is only about 95, not 500 like the rifle... So Force Aura have not as much effect in Jedi vs Jedi battles.
Examples:
Rifle:Advanced Laser Rifle: 462-924, 462 Range (50%)
Rifle: T21 Rifle: 705-1250 Damage, 545 Range (43,6%)
Pistol: FWG5: 489-1008, 519 Range (51,5%)
Lightsaber: 539-635, 96 Range (15%)
Polearm: Vibro Lance: 470-971, 501 Range (51,5%)
Knuckler: Vibro Knuckler: 179-458, 279 (61%)
4. Multiply Damage
The Defense reduced damage is multiplied by the special.
5. Innate Armor
A Master Defender with Improved Force Armor will have 7000 (Innate Armor) +4000 (Force Armor) "11000" armor. This is capped at "10000". "10000" equals 60%.
This simply means the now range reduced, multiplied damage is chopped off by 60%.
7000 alone is 52,5%. You can look at the armor conversion table in the initial post. The higher you go, the less improvement you will get.

Oh, I dont care ^_^ im allowed to post whatever I want now and people dont judge me for an application. ![]()
And trust me, I have a few posts im working on. I need pub19 first though.
To reach as high reduction as -45-50% through defense you are going to need defense up in the range of 1000+... That's only possible through master defender, force aura and pikatta pie. It's difficult for me to give a good reply about 0040 without someone to test it with, but I would say that the defense reduction would be around 20-30% through defense, then an extra 52,5% reduced after that (20 Innate Armor, 10 from Novice Defender, 40 from Force Armor = 7000 = 52,5%)

So. if somone with a 500-1000 rifle attacked me. And i use my template that im thinkin of. Ill have about 120 mele 110 raned defence. And ill have force armor 2 on.
