awesome ideas but even as SonGouki said, its only suggestions doesnt mean the devs will actually do something about these ideas

i mean jedi have been wanting changes in the FRS for as long as the FRS has been here, i think the only time i saw progession in the ranks(past 1 and 2) was in the TC testing, and thats because you had a lot of knights from different servers testing out new things (it was a blast too if you ask me ) and running around pvping because for once there was no skill removal or any sort of loss for death, you died in TC you laughed cloned and went back at it

but hopefully they will read this and we will get some well needed changes...the only time i think we will even see changes is after the CU and GCW (upgrade, revamp, balance, whatever they are calling it this week) because we had our "revamp"(cough*nerf*cough)...it is time for the other professions to be fixed, we do have to take a back seat to them...im hoping they will announce a revamp of the FRS (since i think thats the only way to fix all the problems)...

finally as a defender, i look at the FRS and im like whats the point of trying to go up it, i mean i get no actual benefits like most other master profs out there gain...but what are you gonna do its the way it is now, hopefully things will change and defenders will be incorported with the changes.

i would give everything to get back to day 1 of this game
i do have one thing the new players dont...the memories of the past

Something simple like Light Jedi go save this lady. Dark Jedi go kill this Padawan (NPC). Go kill sith on Dath, Investigate temple on Dant, Deliver pizza to Vader.....you get the idea. Make them so you can only do them alone maybe (or with your apprentice if that ever gets in the game).

I agree, and if you dont give vader his pizza in 30min or less....you lose all your FRS xp and he force chokes you to death.

FORCE RANKINGEXPERIENCE RATE ISSUES

Currently, a Rank 0 FRS Jedi is getting around 750 Rank XP off another Rank 0 FRS Jedi.

It's notenough.

The total required Rank XP needed to earn the highest rank, Council Leader (Rank 11), requires a combined total of 1,490,000 Rank XP to be earned to climb through all the ranks. At 750 Rank XP per kill, a FRS Jedi would need to kill a total of 1,987 other FRS Jedi in order to earn all that required Rank XP. Taking an average of 5 kills per day (very generous in current normal circumstances), this would take a total of 398 days to get there!

Of course, that's not taking into consideration daily maintenance and the high possibility of dying along the way. Let's also not forget the core problems of the FRS, in that there is no method to actually locate other opposing side FRS Jedi and whenever a Jedi gets close to death they'll just Force Run away (if they have it), severely limiting the chances for actually gaining Rank XP. Then there's the issue with groups, where any damage a group does to your FRS Jedi target will reduce the amount of Rank XP you earn from the kill since it's based on the amount of damage contributed. Not to mention the restriction of the amount of actual FRS Jedi that play on the server and at the same time as each other.

IMHO, Rank XP needs to be considerably increased, such as to the cap of 5,000 per kill. If it was changed to this, the amount of kills needed would be around 298, taking a total of 60 days to get to the top. That's much more realistic, especially considering all the current shortcomings listed above. This would even make losing Rank XP to your group's damage more bearable.

Naturally, if Rank XP was increase this much then the maintenance formula would also need to be adjusted, say to around 600 x Rank. This would allow one kill to 'carry' the maintenance for just over a week at Rank 1, but would require at least two kills a day at Rank 11.

Wouldn't this kind of be how it was before? The point is not to get a rank every day or so, it is to work for it. I think the current FRS/Kill is fine, but a static element to gain FRS, say a maximum of 1k per day through missions at the enclaves, would suffice rather well. It would add a non PvP aspect for those who play as knights but don't care for PvP as much. It would also help to fill out the ranks, slowly. This approach focuses more on the long term instead of the more common "I want to be master tomorrow" attitude most people seem to have adopted. If you do the math on this, doing only the missions with no PvP, accounting for daily maintenance, it would take about a year to get to the council assuming you could advance ranks each time you qualified. This approach also provides incentive to PvP as a knight since you obviously will qualify for the ranks faster if you do, but at the same time does not limit the gameplay solely to PvP for Knights. This gives the servers with fewer active knights a chance because some servers don't have enough active players to kill someone every day, let alone 2, since there is a timer involved to limit how often you can gain FRE from any single player. The mission system would give you just enough to almost cover the maintenance at Rank 11, but not quite. I think this would be something very good for the FRS, and alot easier to implement/code since all you would really have to do is put in the missions, and a limiter to how many you can do a day.

As far as being able to find other Jedi through a "ripple in the force", well that is something I think about everyone has agreed to be a necessity.

Very well though out and well put SonG.

I would take this opertunity though to point out not all Jedi are interested in FRS. only a minor point but it would be nice to be able to still equip the knight robes at least if not in the FRS (we did do the tirals to earn them and the title)

Also it was probably already said but it would be nice if husband/Wife wouldnt'd give each other vis. (the master padawn thing would be good too).

To those who would argue this I will take a moment to point out that ever since pub 10 Jeid are your main chars now not a new slot. So they are already established and my (or may not) have married maybe it's just me but I don't think the person would want to say (like we have to now) "Sorry hun. I'm jedi now we can't hunt together for months untill I don't need to worry abouy xp loss when my template is done"

But maybe it's me. All in all good comment/suggestions SonG.

I am sorry I don't post on this forum much but when I see something that is totally outrageous I just have to make my comment.

First off... a Rank 0 Jedi Knight will only get 750-800 FRS off another rank 0 Knight. As you rank up the FRS does increase, it might not be substantial but it is an increase which is one mistake that our lovely corrrespondant has made. Rank 1 killing a Rank 1 will yield around 1.2k per kill. Rank 2 on Rank 2 is around 1.5k; and so on. Also if a lower rank Jedi Knight kills a higher rank Knight they will receive a larger amount of xp from that ranked jedi because of the skill dissadvantage that the person was at.

Well that out of the way its not always getting 750 frs off each kill as you rank up, that is only for a Rank 0 killing a Rank 0.

The other mistake you just so happenly made... which at first I had to read about six times before I believed it is the FRS required to get to Rank 11 or Council Leader. I will quote it specifically "The total required Rank XP needed to earn the highest rank, Council Leader (Rank 11), requires a combined total of 1,490,000 Rank XP to be earned to climb through all the ranks."; are you joking me? Anyone that was in the FRS system, which our Jedi Correspondent is not, would know that FRS xp and ranks are cumulative (sp?). That means in order to get Rank 11 council leader you only need the xp it tells you... which is 500k, not no 1.5mil, 1.5mill would be impossible in a span of years!

Now your calculations on how many jedi it would take to achieve this rank is also off. As stated before as you rank up and as the opposition ranks up you gain more frs per kill (any frs jedi knight knows this) so the 750 frs per kill is irrelevant and inaccurate.

In my opinion yes you got it right on how much FRS should be increased too due to mainly the fact of theres always more then just 1v1 jedi and its usually always groups. Yet even with an increase of xp to 5k per kill you want the maintenance to be increased again?! Being at council leader you would take a hit of 6600 FRS lost a day. That means you would have to if FRS gained was increased to 5000, kill atleast 2 FRS Jedi similar rank to you, by yourself to get full XP to maintain rank. Now this may seem easy for a Jedi Chancellor(sp?) someone who is Rank 2 would have a much difficult time advancing through the ranks.

So to sum up all of this, it is clearly obvious why the FRS Jedi Knights are still trudging along with a broken FRS system. The main person that is suppose to be giving our concerns and experiences to the Devs is not even in the FRS himself. 1.490mill xp to get Council Leader, I mean come on people am I the only one who sees what our problem is. He doesn't even know how the system works yet he is the one in charge of "corresponding" the player community to the devs. I hope other people see the problem we have here, and if not I fear the worse for all of us and the Jedi population as it might never get the proper fixes it truly needs in the FRS system.

Awsome post. I am not even close to being in the FRS yet. I was planning not to because well "What's the point?" If changes like this are made then I will join the FRS without thinking.

This is a great post son, as a social person, it was a slap in the face that when I unlocked jedi I was forced to live as a hermit and could no longer interact with my guild, which is the only thing keeping me in this game as it is. Sony needs to address this seriously..and jedi giving each other visibility has ALWAYS been stupid, why would they rat each other out? we're ALL being hunted. I've always been an advocate of jedi having their own faction, though there are those jedi who still like taking part in the GCW.. (laughable as there really isn't one anymore)

I really considered mastering powers, but i just saw it as being ineffective in the long run as compared to master healer, which I can use to greatly aid my guild when I become a knight on epic level raids and such.
