Thread: Jedi grind pre-CU and post-CU...............the thoughts of an old Jedi
Sure, if you're a mindless zombie with no life that wishes or can afford to play 8+ hours a day non-stop. Let's stop pretending that 2 weeks is the norm, shall we? People who grind full template in 2 weeks fall into one of two categories: AFK grinders, are the kind of people completely lacking social skills that most of us wouldn'twant to know in real life.

This is slightly off topic. In fact it's not even about pre-CU vs post-CU. It's about pre-pub 9 vs post-pub 9. People deciding on getting Jedi post-pub 9 had but a simple task (aside from the badges)....pick a combat template and grind, grind, and grind some more (I fit into this category, being a casual player, only having mastered 6 professions at the time). Pre-pub 9 Jedi, of course, had it a bit different. They had to grind the right professions in order to unlock. Since most of them didn't know what these were (or at least the 5th and final to unlock), most of them wound up grinding 20+ professions to unlock (in fact of guild mate of mine ground 22 in 4 months before unlocking). I'm not exactly making an argument for which system is better, but there was one nice thing about knowing a pre-pub 9 Jedi. Since most of them had to grind out just about every profession to unlock, they understood more about the game than most of the playerbase. In fact, I used to think of the guild mate I mentioned as a kind of 'Yoda' since you could ask him a question about just about any aspect of the game or a profession and he would usually know the answer from memory (having been there, done that).
I'm not really going anywhere with this, other than to say that the average pre-pub 9 Jedi was, all in all, a more knowledgeable player (unlike me of course). And in general, they were more helpful as well. Oh well, enough of me. Have a good night.

lol jokes aside though i really dislike how i grinded for almost a year and only have half...HALF my template done then the CU hits and a guildy unlocks that very day actually, and he finished his template in a month, and even before i finished my other half.
Another post on how hard it was for me then, and how easy it is for you now.Will people just stop whining about this crap!!

Let's get over the fact that there are a ton of jedi. Let's remember that after the game has been out for 3 years it was inevitable that there were going to be a lot of jedi.
I was playing for 2 or so years before I finally unlocked....I'm not full temp and I've been jedi for at least 3 or 4 months.
Just because you have no life and that you can play the game 8hrs a day, don't sit here and try and ruin it for people who can get on 2 hrs every other 2 or 3 days and grind hard.
Try going to school (and studying), get a full-time job, hang out with reallife friends, get a girlfriend (and if you have one that likes playing the game, take her out on a couple dates)
The only people that should be on this game 8hrs a day (full time job status) are people that literally have no life. (sorry, but it's true. I'm not trying to be offensive, but it's sad.You should try and get out more and stop complaining on how things get a bit easier.

sure if your grinding 12+ hours a day, wich those of us who have lives aren,t or in the middle of double xp or a respec period wich we havent been for about 6 months now....
*sigh* just another post CU jedi who thinks he is better than everyone because he did the holo grind. Get this in your head WE ALL PAY 15$ just like you so this whining is unjust and an insult to all of us who are post CU and who don't even have the pearls to get a nice 600+ dps saber. You need to grow up and see that this game is changing in some ways good some ways bad and if you don't like the way this game is going then you have every right to cancel your account and take your money elsewhere.

Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking.
Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ?
Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own?
Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting?
Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar?
No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward.
Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort.
Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS.
I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.
I am not angry for that.
I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...
