Only unlocking takes 4,5 months

i know what you mean...i remember getting in a solo group and running out to grind by myself getting voritor tracker lairs..or if i was concerned a lot about visibility running out to endor.....i think the jedi should grind on their own in my opinion...should be something that is learned either solo or i would support a grind with a master...anyways...i grinded half my temp precu and the rest post cu..the post cu grind was much much much easier..took me almost 3 weeks to get 0042 sabers pre cu...i know people that get that much 3-5days.....grind was definitely harder precu..

I'm not saying that's impossible...but it took me 4 months to grind to full template.
Before anyone says it: Yes, I suck, I'm slow, I'm a n00b. Not a problem accepting those judgements. ![]()

I have 2 jedi. Yeah 2.
One i have unlocked prepub 9.....was hard to grind and hard to unlock...but really rewarding in the end!
The second i have unlocked 30 days ago and now i already have a FULL TEMP JEDI....so what remains of the jedi profession?
Its power? No not really...jedi are not that powerful believe me
Its coolness? Well, if you need to have a jedi in SWG to feel cool........you have some problems
Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking.
Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ?
Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own?
Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting?
Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar?
No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward.
Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort.
Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS.
I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.
I am not angry for that.
I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...

You finished your template in 3 1/2 months? Most of your grind must have been post publish 9. Before that, getting the initiate box was a 2-3 month affair at about 400 jedi xp per creature. Force throwing lairs sped things up a little bit, but not to any hugely significant degree... 4k jedi xp extra per lair isn't heavily significant when you needed close to six million to get that lovely padawan box, a total of 800 forceandan AoE attack.
It was a huge, slow grind. You had no mundane skills to rely upon. Most people played their mains as much as their jedi because it could get too tedious and that was good for the game. Getting to 4444 guardian was seen as a long term goal and it was ok because none of the boxes were chaff. Each one provided either a useful new skill or additional force. Grind it was, but it was immensely rewarding and fun even so.
Looking back, I laugh profusely at the devs. They paniced when they saw how tenacious the playerbase was with the hologrind and rushed themselves into a different system which made unlocking easier, changed the jedi to the main character, and removed the majority of abilities from any single jedi. Too bad they failed to notice that as many pre-publish 9 unlockers gave up barely having started as did actually finish the grind. Now, just about everyone finishes.
100% disagree,
Pre-CU was more fun but, NPC & animal were much easier and if you looked around different planetyou can find a creature or NPC that give you the bestxp for your proffession, and as I remember almost nothing have LS resistance.,
I wasn't a jedi, but as rifleman I made more xp/hour of killing imperial npc ( which all of themhave energy resitance)in weapon factory naboo , I cap my 900K rifle xpin an hour with 8K FP,
I use to finishangler liar (25-30% enrgey resistance but no LS resitant )by myself with area attack in 1/3 of a time a 8 high level aoe group doing know making a same (only think change is caps are higher now)
probably you were aless exprienceplayer then and didn't know how to grind, but know an expertand have many full template friend (if you have full template friend in group 3.2 mil xp/day is not that hard), so comparing your fun pre-cu solo grinding with a boring group Aoe which 90% of the time is not working (if you don't have many high level jedi friend like you do)
like when I started the game it took meone month to grind to master artisan because I didn't have any credit, but now I grind to master artisan with my 2nd char in few hours (not even a day)
Also pre-CU you were a new jedi and didn't have good ls then , please write attribute of your pre-CU grinding LS , and your aftery-CU LS too, I am sure your after-CU LS is 400+ dps ADK.
Pre-CU was more fun agree, but harder, no it wasn't , you were less exprience, andhad less money and no top of the lineLS

-Infidel- wrote:What is worse crying nerf or crying because it was harder for me so it should have to be harder for everyone. Some people ground out 32 professions. That was just stupid. So was grinding solo. While I agree getting xp is insane now, I would never want it to go back to the way it was. A happy medium somewhere between the way it is now and the gigantic nerf that they had in for 1 day would probably be the solution. Posting crybaby threads like this is certainly not.
Grinding in groups now is boring. Grinding solo pre-CU was boring. Grinding solo pre-pub 9 was awesome.
I miss that so much........../cry

Anyone saying this post is a whine post is retarded. He's just stating the truth. It's a shame that jedi wasn't "balanced" as they had stated... it just got way worse with the cu.

Sheesh! Is this horse not dead, ground into a pulp and spread over the floor yet?
No? Ok, let's beat it some more then!
Do you're parents hate you and berate you every time they see you because you have PC's to play games on and they only had Barbie Dolls and Action Man (GI Joe if you're a yank!)?
For the people getting so uptight over a game (and hey, I understand, I used to do it too).. one day SOE are going to pull the plug on this game. It may be reasonably soon in the scale of your life. And when that happens, all the characters will be gone. Those that did things the hard way, those that did things the easy way, those that cheated, those that didn't bother doing much but had fun... all gone. And you know what, when this happens and you get back in the real world, nobody is gonna give a flying **** what you did here and it's going to have all been for NOTHING.
So some advice, before something so fleeting actually takes over the important things in your life. Get over it, forget it. If you enjoy it, play it. If you don't enjoy it anymore, quit and go spend your money and time on something you do enjoy.
If you think writing to SOE/LA to get things changed will be effective then do that instead of this. Posting your irrelevant boasts about the "olden days" and the new people being far less than you and your friends due to the game changing, is frankly, pathetic. It's a bunch of pixels. Soon the code that supports them will be deleted... and nobody will give a damn how you did anything.. and *NEWSFLASH* most don't now anyway!
Have a nice day (maybe spend it doing something you enjoy, rather than whining about things you don't?) ![]()
