I did a lot of research on all the games on the market before Ibought SWG. It was all the professions available, being able to mix and match skills,and not being locked into any one of them that probably did it. Jedi was more rumored then anything else when I started playing, so it was just an added incentive on top of everything else.

Would I have continued playing past a year if there were no Jedi... no.

No. Even when jedi were uber in a pre-cu world and they could kill with a mind blast and a couple hits -- no.

Too bad only the jedi with pre-cu pearls and sabers are uber anymore.

I came into the game with no knowledge of which professions were available, least of all Jedi. So I guess the answer is yes.

Through the force things you will see, other places, the future, the past; old friends long gone.

There were no Jedi when I bought the game so the answer is definitely yes. I never expected to see any Jedi and didn't for a very long time.

Uhm...I bought because there were no Jedi as far as I knew.

I did not buy this game to be a Jedi. I wanted to play a chatacer in the StarWars universe where I could create and enhance my experiances in relation to various themes associated with StarWars.

Even my charater becoming a Jedi was something which was forced upon me (no pun intended). I actually held off becoming a Jedi for about 2-3 months becuase I felt it did not belong and it did not appeal to me, I later did it _ONLY_ for the extra character.

i bought the game feb 2004 was never really interested in jedi untill after pub 9 when they actually looked and i imagine feeled like jedi.

Before there were Jedi players yes, but it was announced well before release that players could become Jedi.

....it was supposed to be a rare and powerful thing, and nobody would know the exact process, but...
