Gizmo, you're proposal is extremely constructive (something rare on these forums) and it is also the best well-written idea I have ever read.

Can you just imagine if the devs did what you are proposing? YOU have laid out the blueprint for a really awesome change that would make EVERYONE Jedi and Non-Jedi a lot happier.

You get my 5-stars and a bump from me if this page is ever more than 3 pages back.

Pure Excellence. I join the effort to support this proposal

I agree the plan laid out looks great, but I'm not sure everyone would like it. I hear "Jedi got 2 publishes" cries all the time from different forums, and can tell you that if time was spent on this right now, all bloody heck would break loose. The complaints would never stop (well would go on and on for many months anyways).

I really liked the "training a Padawan" idea and the no GCW idea (but agree that Jedi should have the option, but have to do missions or something...don't know a good suggestion, but Jedi should be able to take part in it if they want).

Interesting blue print. Far more positive then negative.

Keep it simple: Jedi need their own factions. Dark Jedi and Light Jedi, for certain. ALL jedi belong to one or another, even during training. If a Dark sees some joe shmoe jedi training, they are going to want to kill them. If a light sees a dark jedi padawan training, they will want to try and persuade them to the light side. Or kill them

'Regular' faction is a layer on top of this. Jedi can be Imperial, Rebel, or neutral.

FRS Experience only gained from Jedi kills. Any other method is too easily exploited.

Padawans are nice, but the XP gains should not be dramatic. Too easily exploited. I think having a Padawan may be a 'requirement' to attain certain higher ranking positions in the council though. Interesting touch And their actions/deaths affect your own FRS. If the Padawan dies, you LOSE FRS. If they win in battle against another Jedi, you share some gain.

Remove all FRS from 'regular' PvP kills, but keep the above and you fix the one main problem- Jedi gain FRS experience from killing 'normals'. But it lets them participate in PvP if they WANT to. Make FRS penalties on death from non-jedi.

Agree to remove Jedi Exp loss on death in Jedi vs Jedi battles. However, this is tough to see in reality since often battles have a few jedi, a few supporting 'normals'. Figure that out in code

I'd also like to see BH require a BH Faction to take Jedi hunting missions. Then they need to go 'Overt BH' as far as that faction, and become Red to the Jedi they hunt. Or perhaps all Jedi, which would certainly make it harder. Alternatively they would gain credits and experience for ANY jedi they defeat, though the Jedi would need a significant penalty to avoid exploiting this system.

Oh additionally- any folks wanting to support a BH in hunting Jedi, would also need to go Overt BH faction. Did I mention I want to see group TEF removed from the game? You need to be Overt to engage in ANY PvP?

This does make things 'messy' as Rebel Overt BH can attack Rebel Overt Jedi at any time. Or because they are both Rebel first, no attacks are possible? I'd like to see some common sense in the faction design.

Seems clear that padawan/master is the only idea that we can all agree on, hope the devs take this in consideration

You know what... this is the BEST ideas I think I've ever read on any forum. I great, constructive, and well thought-out set of ideas that would basically improve the game for Jedi and draw them out of not only the FRS as it stands now, but out of the GCW allowing those that don't wish to be jedi to continue in their struggle against their opposing faction.

Oh... and as for the idea of having a braid for your Padawan coded similarily to that of the wedding bands, BRILLIANT. I hadn't even considered this, and love the idea. I hope that SOE listens to some or all of these ideas as they will definately make things better for all.

Great ideas. I think Jedi in the GCW as it is currently implemented is destroying it for everyone. Some of these changes thoughwould allow Jedi who insist on being a part of the GCW to do so,but at a tremendous cost. I also love the Master-Padawan ideas. This whole thing should be referenced in Arjun's thread asking for suggestions he has going. Great ideas although some might be kinda hard to code..dont know.
