Bh's get first strike. So here is how it will go. Paralyze, mind debuff, edrain, thena KD walk to safe kiting distance FTW.

Probably wont have to use Dot's. BH can just take mitigation food when a jedi does get in range. And re-mez... Come to think of it BH/Smuggler might be a great hunting template now.

I rather spend my first strike on a Sniper Shot on 80m range, followed by stopping shot. I will be able to sniper shot a few times before the root go down. Alternatively TorsoShot + Crippling Shot.

All I need is a Rifle produced with top components, speedsliced.

I can hold a Jedi away indefinitely with Stopping Shot, Charge Shot and Crippling Shot, and as long as things happen +35m range I am completely safe.

Do I really need more than that?

At 5m range, the Jedi have access to all her abilities.

At 35m range, the Jedi have access to some good abilities.

At +35m range, the Jedi is a pushover.

Exactly. Not to repeat myself, but every move should have a counter. If we can no longer run, then we need to have our saber block returned to the pre-cu level. That way we can stare at each other, one rooted Jedi to an impotent kiter.

Or...limit the effect of this root. It really should be like knock-down, where it can only be applied every so often---in addition to breaking on damage.

And make the weapon hinderance the same speed, or even slower, than a rooted melee. Come on, a ranged character already has the advantage in higher damage and initial strikes (however many the ranged can get in before a melee can get into striking range). This just makes it so that the melee player can NEVER get into range.

Well, it really depends on how "out in the open" you are. The majority of planets do have trees, ridges, other "natural" things that can break line of sight. I would definitly recomend using them as you would in an urban setting. Also, remeber this, if a BH snares you and then is staying 40m away from you he cannot re-apply snare from there. Once you notice his snare about to run out and you notice him comming in closer to reapply it I would root him and let it run out.

Of course the BH has the advantage of suprise and will get the first shots off, but you will be able to survive until that wears off, once he comes in your range to re-apply his debuffs take full advantage by chaining your roots and snares and timing your KDswell. Some well say timming your KDs doesn't make sense because you're probably just spamming saber throw over and over. But more than likley that is doing no good anyways, you're not going to kill a bh with saber throw, or drain his mind if he knows anything about what he's doing. Best bet is to save your force (saber throw does eat force) and wait until you have an upper hand.

When the BH's snare is running out and he comes closer to reapply it? That snare can be placed at FULL range. There is no "comes closer". It can be done at 80m. I do it all of the time with the alt.

Not electrolyte drain...you must be talking about either carbineer snare or knee cap shot

Sorry, didn't see that point I guess since electrolyte drain really means nothing with the snare issue. With snare, all one needs is the snare, some distance and time. Pretty much even the basic attack will eventually bring down aother player (wear down mind with heals, take down action, etc).

Its called LOS.

There are very few places that you can't find a LOS obstacle somewhere nearby.

On the bright side... when this goes live we will not have to deal with as many MCM since they will no long be the FoTM and will havebecome second rate to hunt us, well thatsunless they just like the amusement of walking up and laughing at us with athat AB slice and Rupture. Instead it will be the MRifle MBH!!$ ( with a touch of healing for PVE!)

Notice I said when, not "if" I have been around SoE to long, lets not lie to ourselfs I get tired ofcoming up with new versions of"I told you so".

BINGO! And that's why my account is now currently cancelled. It expires on November 5th, just enough time to see how the new changes effect the game. At which point I will be taking at least a few weeks off from this game while they do balance pass after balance pass. This time I REFUSE to pay to beta test their software. And if you think all of the bugs and issues will be fixed before this is pushed to live then yes, you do have a very short memory.

Honestly people, the only thing that will make them sit up and take notice is mass cancellations of accounts. There is even a little survey at the end where you can tell them exactly why you cancelled. Do this, it's just as easy to renew the account if God forbid they actually pull their act together before thisgoes live.

But not one that gives you a hiding spot, with a character moving twice your speed (at least if they don't pop some food and BR) it is easy enough for them to keep you in their LOS.

Tried this, my target dips into a gulley, behind a hill, etc, I am much faster then them so I just parralel their course and come around the side of them and resume fire... hell with the speed difference it is almost possible to get there before them, then they have to go up a hill with no terrain neg and snared while I pound on them.

The most frequent places where jedi get caught out are dant/lok/tat none giving ample cover unless you are extremely lucky to get away. As a side note it was funny watching that slow ass wookiee try to climb up and over a hill while I just ran along side him (at a properly safe distance of course).

It's not a matter of them being in line of sight or not, it's a matter of forcing their line of sight to somewhere, where they have to stay in range. Even if it just delays the fight you're surviving.

When they move out of 32m range.
I apply Valor and pull out my rifle. It won't kill them, but it'll sting.
(Kinetic rifle + ranged crispic + force speed)

Ugh, that too.

There goes your aura and heals with that method, plus FA and speed if it turns off force effects already in use.

How's that going to work when you can no longer use force powers with any weapon but your hands and an LS? Can your fingers shoot bullets?
