Do you even need any healing at all?

Maybe, but I still think it will be uber...

Bh's get first strike. So here is how it will go. Paralyze, mind debuff, edrain, thena KD walk to safe kiting distance FTW.

Probably wont have to use Dot's. BH can just take mitigation food when a jedi does get in range. And re-mez... Come to think of it BH/Smuggler might be a great hunting template now.

EXACTLY !
Im happy some1 got it.

Paralyze isnt breaking from any "state applying" (no damage).

So this template can approach and start with Para.
I have ALL TIME in the world now to work off my "catalogue" of nasty chemicals on you.

When im done i KD you to get 4-6 seconds advatage.
I BURSTRUN away from you (naa naaa naananaa...cuz i CAN still /MakesFace)

From this moment on, you can start programming your VCR or getting another coffee or chocolate, or have a Biobreak...cuz your soon-to-come-death is as sure as the amen in the church now...

And forget about my mind and action, dont even bother...i dont NEED to heal Mr. Melee range...cuz you wont hit me.

Great Balance SoE..great...

Oh my, maybe this is the final nail in the..i need to quit this bloddy ruined piece of...finally (no you cant have my stuff).

I rather spend my first strike on a Sniper Shot on 80m range, followed by stopping shot. I will be able to sniper shot a few times before the root go down. Alternatively TorsoShot + Crippling Shot.

All I need is a Rifle produced with top components, speedsliced.

I can hold a Jedi away indefinitely with Stopping Shot, Charge Shot and Crippling Shot, and as long as things happen +35m range I am completely safe.

Do I really need more than that?

At 5m range, the Jedi have access to all her abilities.

At 35m range, the Jedi have access to some good abilities.

At +35m range, the Jedi is a pushover.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Exactly. Not to repeat myself, but every move should have a counter. If we can no longer run, then we need to have our saber block returned to the pre-cu level. That way we can stare at each other, one rooted Jedi to an impotent kiter.

Or...limit the effect of this root. It really should be like knock-down, where it can only be applied every so often---in addition to breaking on damage.

So as much as admit we don't stand a chance in hell... Anyway, the BH will catch up to you easy enough and kd you and apply another snare, and the next time the snare timer starts to go out, they will run towards you.

A BHs job is to wait and attack when he has the most things in his advantage, why fight him then? No one is making you fight him at that time. You run, you run to the nearest city or somewhere, where YOU have an advantage. You know who is after you, the advantage of suprise is completly taken away. Once their within 32m just root them, easy escape, no shame in waiting to fight when you have more of an advantage. That's what makes good PvPers, knowing when and how to fight to get an upper hand, if it means fleeing when all odds are against you, so be it. I guess it's just up to what is more important to you, "honor"(which some including myself call this honor stupidity) or saving your xp/winning.../shrug

They will never get within 32m of you if they know what they are doing with snare and ranged arms.

Ok, let's RE-PHRASE this issue. The BH has two ranged arms, places a snare on you at 80m.You are MLS and have a MAXIMUM range of 32m on that ranged knockdown. Now, the BH is free to move at full speed and you are snared. The BH also has terrain negotiation and you no longer do (both speed and TN are negated by the snare according to all reports).

Just HOW do you suggest that the Jedi get into range for this magical ranged KD? The Jedi will be moving at less than half of the speed of the BH. Unless that ranged player is a total and utter moron, the fight is OVER as soon as that first snare hits. It will be easy to keep the snare applied (it can be spammed and reapplied, at least currently) such that the target will NEVER be moving at anything greater than a crawl.

The ONLY good advice I've seen here so far is to stay in your house. Only in areas with a maximum dimension of 32m or less will a Jedi have ANY chance of getting a SINGLE blow in with this system.

Of note, I've canceled my ToOW pre-order and my SWG subscription. Nonsense like this either means that the Devs are incompetant or just mean spirited.

Well, it really depends on how "out in the open" you are. The majority of planets do have trees, ridges, other "natural" things that can break line of sight. I would definitly recomend using them as you would in an urban setting. Also, remeber this, if a BH snares you and then is staying 40m away from you he cannot re-apply snare from there. Once you notice his snare about to run out and you notice him comming in closer to reapply it I would root him and let it run out.

Of course the BH has the advantage of suprise and will get the first shots off, but you will be able to survive until that wears off, once he comes in your range to re-apply his debuffs take full advantage by chaining your roots and snares and timing your KDswell. Some well say timming your KDs doesn't make sense because you're probably just spamming saber throw over and over. But more than likley that is doing no good anyways, you're not going to kill a bh with saber throw, or drain his mind if he knows anything about what he's doing. Best bet is to save your force (saber throw does eat force) and wait until you have an upper hand.

When the BH's snare is running out and he comes closer to reapply it? That snare can be placed at FULL range. There is no "comes closer". It can be done at 80m. I do it all of the time with the alt.

When the BH has a 64-80m range and there is NOTHING a Jedi can do over 32m, and the BH keeps the Jedi rooted without ever coming within 32m, then how can that work?

That is the problem, the permasnare is an instant "I Win" button now.

No, this isn't completely true, it IS an "I win" button, but it won't be instant. There is NOTHING a Jedi can do to win OR escape (without cloak-hey, I guess that this will make powers users happy since now EVERYONE will be under permanent snare anyway!), but with SOME healing and SOME defenses it won't be an instant win. It might take many minutes before you die. But die you will. ALWAYS. STUPIDITY.

Unless you get lucky and can continue to find terrain with LOS obstructions that keep the BH from putting on a snare and you can escape (unlikely once snared and moving so slowly), it will be an unescapable death. The totally moronic thing about it is that a melee player (not ONLY Jedi in this case) will NEVER again get a single hit in on a ranged player. Why does melee even exist then? If SoE sees it as the Red-headed Step-child, why even have these professions in game? Just remove all of them and get it over with.

Yes, though they haven't noticed what has happened due to their tactics. This license should pretty much guarantee the most popular MMORPG. If done correctly, it would attract SW fans AND anyone who liked MMORPGs. How many of us just don't like the old overdone goblins stuff?

Well, Blizzard is literally taking the ENTIRE field away due to lack of understanding of how to handle a customer base. This will continue to happen and SWG will continue to lose players until it shrivels up and dies. Sure, it may last years, but it's in the decline and nothing will stop it except a complete reversal of attitude by the Dev staff.

Put a fork in it. It's done. I personally don't care. They treat me like garbage I'll take my business, and my money, elsewhere. That includes the ENTIRE Sony company. There are FAR better companies out there. This is the attitude of the ENTIRE company.
