Palpatine beats yoda.
(By beats i don't mean kicks their ass, but won the fight overall, even only slightly.)

Windu had disarmed Sidious and cornered the treacherous Sith Lord into the frame of his expansive office window. Fearing that Sidious was too powerful to take prisoner -- the Dark Lord still had control of the Senate and courts -- Windu moved to deliver a deathblow. Torn between his loyalties, and needing Palpatine alive to fulfill his quest for arcane knowledge to preserve the life of his beloved, Anakin acted. In an emotionally charged action, Anakin ignited his lightsaber blade and sheared off Mace Windu's weapon hand before he could strike Palpatine.
Sorta off topic... how could someone so weak as ANAKIN be the one who would bring ballance.. i mean.. hes a bitchy teenager that seems to loose every duel that he is SURE that he will win.. i.e. Dukoo/obi-wan
( and by weak i mean weak minded, so much that if i said " Anakin get me a cheeseburger now!" he would have brought it with fries and a big coke!)
HE even says that he thinks hes better than yoda.. and obiwan has to bring him down from the clouds and says " your a straight up noob my young padawan"
He gets severly owned by Obiwan even though it was evenly matched throughout the final duel.. but then he gets the briliant idea of getting his limbs chopped off! What a dope! lol
Obi-wan is PIMP, ANakin is a wimp!!
anyhoo.. back on topic..
As much as i hate to say it i think Mace was screwed.. Palpatine knew that Anakin was close, and that he would act upon his fears!
Windu was set up!!

for all the is sidious faking or not posters one thing to keep in mind ....
when he is on the floor pleading with anakin to help him he cries about how he is to weak to continue...
however after anakin acts and sidous blasts windu out the window he is screaming POWER!!!!!! and i quote.." UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!!!" me thinks he was not as weak as he made out ..although it does put a lot of emphasis on anakins timing to enter the room ...then again they can sense each others presence i mean sidous senses anakins in danger on mustafar way across the other side of the galaxy
Additional .. Anakin did bring balance to the force infact total balance.. after anakin was finished there were only yoda and obiwan left...and dar6th and sidous ...balance anyone? 2 on each side sounds like balance to me

Generally yes they are since you have to use your imagination, unless you don't have one then I guess they wouldn't be very exciting.
Obi-wan was good but he would never be tobeat Dooku that's for sure, he kinda beat him 2 vs 1 twice and making fun of him.

To my understanding he brought about balance to the force by fathering Luke and Leia who eventually teamed together in the films and EU to erradicate the dark side empire.
