You might disagree, but the novel and the databank concur: windu overpowered palpatine. take that how you will, but I agree with both of them.Hmm I see can you link me to the databank where it says Wind overpowered Palpatine ?
My pleasure:"The two dueled, transforming the office of politics into an arena of lightsaber combat. Windu overpowered Palpatine the instant Anakin Skywalker came running into the offices."
And here is something to remember:
Unlike the movies, (where a character might be lying about something and its left up to the audience to decide for themselves whether what was said was true or not), the databank simply tells us what happened, and is not a character that might be lying, so what it said happened is what actualy happened in the movies.
The information in the databank is not told from a character's point of view, and that being the case, isnt subject to debate as to whether it was a character lying/faking/mistaken or not. All it does is present in written form what happened in the movies, not what movie characters thought happened.

It also states:
" Palpatine slumped in his cornered, seemingly too weak to continue the lightning assault. Fearing the Chancellor to be too powerful and too well connected, Windu decided he could not be taken alive. Before Windu could take justice into his own hands, though, Anakin sprung into action. He cut off Windu's weapon hand with his lightsaber. Defenseless, Windu was then bombarded by Palpatine's dark side lightning. With the Jedi Master dead and Anakin Skywalker haven taken his first irreversible step to the dark side, Sidious grinned."
Take note of how he was "seemingly to weak to continue the lightning assault" and how Windu was "then bombarded by Palatine's dark side lightning" right after Anakin clearly chose the Sith over the Jedi.
He's Darth Sidious. Here's the definition of the word insidious form Merriam-Wbester Online dictionary.
Main Entry: in·sid·i·ous
Pronunciation: in-'si-dE-&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin insidiosus, from insidiae ambush, from insidEre to sit in, sit on, from in- + sedEre to sit -- more at SIT
1 a : awaiting a chance to entrap : TREACHEROUS b : harmful but enticing : SEDUCTIVE
2 a : having a gradual and cumulative effect : SUBTLE b of a disease : developing so gradually as to be well established before becoming apparent
To ambush, to trap, to seduce. All of those qualities show themselves in that battle. Anouncing to Anakin that he was a Sith Lord was baiting two traps at once. One for the turning his new apprentice, the other for his final move against the Jedi Council. Almost everything went according to his plan that was decades in the execution. And as for being weak, Sidious has the Kyber crystal, and thus unlimited power. The novelization also says that Sidious can move 500 times faster than any other jedi. He was toying with Mace the entire time.

Well...if Palpatine was faking, he started faking before Anakin came into the room. Now why would he do that?
Palpatine was beaten. He just seized an opportunity to win when Anakin got there. He played on his emotions through the whole movie.Palpatine hadAnakin wrapped around his finger, and he knew whathe would do.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the dark side and such, but the fact remains that Mace defeated Palpatine.

mace was a setpiece, a tool to be used by palpatine in order to give anakin that final push. mace was used and discarded when his puropse was finished, just like the seperatists, just like maul, just like dooku, and just like he intended to do with vader.

i think in the fight between Palpatine and Windu, Palpatine threw the fight to push aniken a step further towards the darkside. It was almost obvious that Palpatine could have beaten Mace if he wanted to, i mean he killed 3 jedi master in like 2 minutes lol, Kit Fisto put up a fight tho (hes the only good guy i like)

Yes I think Palpatine was pretty strong and the duel would have at least lasted longer if Anakinhad notshowed up. But Windu uses the dark side too and he was one of the best at using a lightsaber, but even if Windu could beat Palpatine in a duel I think it would have lasted way longer, something like Palpatine vs Yoda.
Palpatine vs Windu fight looked too easy in my opinion, even if Windu could beat him I think it would be harder than that.
the movie itself moved too fast. In the cartoon Grevous could take 5 jedi on, but obi killed him in like 5 min (thats just wrong, and grievous was fighting shaak ti, ki adi mundi, aayla secura, and 2 unknown jedi in the cartoon, thats 2 masters, a well known kngiht, another knight (possibly) and Ki adi's paddy) Dooku died really fast too, so did 3 jedi masters when they fought palpatine (he pwned 2 of em, then kit put up a fight but lost, i like kit, hes the oly good guy i liek)

Vaapad doesn't = Juyo.
Please get it right. Vaapad is a subform use as a platform to manipulate SOME of the Juyo form.

First lemme ask something because I don't read a lot about Star Wars yet. When exactly didYoda and Dooku beat Windu in a friendly duel ?
Just think for a bit, if Dooku was able to defeat Windu, and Yoda on episode one clearlywas faster than Dooku, and Yoda andPalpatine were pretty evenboth pretty quick Yoda had no chance of beating him, do you really think Windu could beatPalpatine ?

Windu uses a rare lightsaber form.. (forgot name) ... that is dangerously close to the dark side but the most effective and deadly of all. So put it this way... Yoda and Windu are both #1 at what they are good at... Yoda is #1 when it comes to the force, but Windu is #1 in Swordsmanship (without the force)... sooo if stripped of Forcepowers Windu would overwhelm even Yoda... and since Papaltine really didnt have much time to use the force, which Dark Side powers require - time and concentration - Windu was able to overwhelm him, until betrayed by filthy nasty maggit slimeball Anakin. And Windu fell tragically to his death *sniff*
