That is part of the problem.

I think people automatically expect that once they become a Jedi they don't have to worry about losing a fight ever again.

Soldiers dont win battles just because ofthe name they carry, such as "Marine", or "Ranger"....Soldiers win battles because they train.

I welcome this. I've been attacked by two at the same time and had good conversations with both afterwards who both expressed they did not know each other - which I doubted. But, either way it was fun!!

(one was MCM with pistols and other was Master Rifleman with CM heals - The rifleman was hurting while the pistol/cm was acting as a controler - good combination of skill if it were by chance -once I switch targets from the MCM to the Rifleman things changed REAL fast! The rifleman wasn't able to heal as fast which allowed me to eliminate his threat then focus on the MCM. I was getting hit for 2447 with sniper shot and I have NO clue how I was able to live through that encounter. Template: LM, Defender 0044, Healer 4000, Enhancer 3402 for teh win!)

I seek a challenging gaming environment. I do _NOT_ play a game if I know "yep, I will always win and there's no way for me to loose". I seek a thrill and a rush when gaming. The current system fails to provide that and the rare occasion that several Bounthunters are working together and happen to pull my mission will be welcomed for what it's worth.

I will say this, THEY WILL NOT CATCH THIS RODIAN NAPPING!!!

I laugh at how so many players overlook the importance of /Valor. I would not be able to compete without it. Nothing better then blocking 50% of the ranged attacks while they miss 30% of the time on top of that.

My buddy Sun Tzu says "And if in all respects unequal, be capable of eluding him, for a small force is but booty for one more powerful." Also, "There are some roads not to follow; some troops not to strike; some cities not to assault; and some ground which should not be contested."

In other words if more come run if you can't beat them. There is always another time.
I have won duels and lost duels. I strive to get better. But if someone calls me lame for running, heh no point to stay if you know you'll loose unless you might be able to bail some friends out.

They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life."

To respond to your quote and mentioning of an "idiot":

What was said was "...it's the idea that Jedi vs. Bountyhunters should exist as a 1 on 1 engagment and not allow for others to intentionally pull a specific player's character off of the terminals so to 'gank' him..."

The view was expressed as to justify how having Bountyhunters gang up on "110k-170k" payouts, which denote 110-170 skill points invested into Jedi, as "not working as intended". The concept were to allow for a randomness of missions so players would recieve a target randomly. Having 2 Bountyhunters cooridinate their actions to get the same mission on a "random" target _IS NOT_ an exploit.

Heck, I support the option for Bountyhunters to gain the abillity to "hire a mercenary" to hunt Jedi so this is totally accetable in my eyes.

If you are having trouble and aren't aware how visibility is generated to penalize you thus allowing for you to be hunted I would advise that you creat a thread asking specifics of how visibility is gained. (fault of SOE and LA - no effort has been made to express this relationship exists other then through trial by error.)

Mindspat, what you aren't getting here is it's not a random target. It apparently never actually changed from the old system other than putting the information in different spot in a different way.

The current system allows even easier ganking than the old one since they don't even have to open the mission. SOE fixed a bug by making a much worse one. What else is new?

No, the Jedi does not have to be nuetral. And yes, it is happening... not too difficult to do reallynow that they know how to do it.

it a real simple thing to, too. they can all get the same mission without ever leaving the terminals or sending seekers. They are not looking for matching names anymore, but matching mission details. Once you are on the terms, your mission details stay the same, so they can share the details with other BH's to find the identical mission details, or use the same mission details to come back after you again and again, over and over.

what happens is that a group gets together at a terminal and takes the same mission reward amount. send a seeker to find what planet then they keep picking the same credit amount till they all get one on the same planet. chances are its the same jedi. yes, its an exploit that could easily be fixed by just randomly generating a different amout bounty but soe gives bh every exploit they can.

About time someone figured out that it's pointless not to discuss the details of this exploit here when it's already known among the people who make it a problem. Sheesh.

That said, let's not accuse SOE of being even more evil than they are. Deliberately giving BH's an exploit? That's going too far, and it clearly goes against what they weretrying to do with the anonymous-terminal publish. Butare theylazy and stupid? Sounds about right.

Actually the tunes are totally random. There is and never was guarnteed tunes based on the quality of the component.........

I tuned a Flawless to 0/0 0fc.....the 4 components in my sabre are all over 100 dmg and at -9fc...yet only 1 is a premium pearl.........out of 50 premiums tuned or so

(I've tuned close to 300 components altogether to get the 4 I have in my sabre now)

Ituned a good crystal to 101/101 -9fc the other day....that replaced the 100/100 -7fcpoor crystal I had in my sabre.....its quantity not quality.

Yeah but the overall chance to get a perfect tune (all 3 stats being good) increases with higher quality. (At least it was that way pre-cu) I tuned about 40 premium perls to get the saber i have now, and got anything from 12/12 to 50/50 and the force cost inbetween.
Right now Tiggs statement that you can get good tunes from "good" crystals too is plainly wrong. There is like NO chance to get all 3 stats good from a good perl/crystal. Maybe you get 100 damage but -3 force or -0.29 speed but low damage. You name it.

well, honestly, there was a good topic in the testing forums back when CU was on test... it was actually about pearl tunes. they did a very huge sampling of pearls... they found that after the changes in the CU, good pearls just cannot be tuned to much more than 90 dmg and -7 fc... i don't think even 1 in 300 can tune to a -9 with over 100dmg also... just won't happen post cu. (now i haven't personally tested it because i don't need pearls anymore, but it was from a very reputable tester and it was a very big sampling of pearls, i think they tested about 150 flawless, quality, and goods.... with very astonishing results compared to how pearls use to tune pre-cu. I wish i could find the link, but if you do a search in the testing or test center forum you may find it again.

Trust me, I hear what you're saying and I understand how this works.

Can anyone answer this: Are Bounthunters capable of pulling a specific Jedi who they just seen run by them or are they capable of picking a Jedi who's skill level is below par, i.e. unfinished template?

If this is capable then there is a problem.

If it is only allowing for Bounthunters to pull $36,235, whereas 36235 is attached to a specific Jedi's name thus ALWAYS yielding the SAME Jedi it is also a problem. I can see how a codex could have been created to clear names although once the codex is identified for each player Jedi the problem will get worse.

Is this what is happening?

If the missions are based upon a static codex without varriance it desperatly needs to get fixed.

IF you think it's relating to PvP you are horribly mistaken. There's more aspects then "learning how to PvP".

Jedi are _NOT_ capable of doing _ANYTHING_ in PvP unless they have 4 four tuned pearls greater then 95/95 and/or a full template.

Jedi / BH missions need to be axed for those Jedi who have not completed their templates.

What they need is:

Creat NPC Bountyhunters to kill Jedi who have not made that final step in completing their templates. This can work like the Old Man or Sith which 'gank' players. They can also be governed in the same way as BH Marks are created and spawned which match the BH's level. The current system servesonly to penalize the player while offeringno reward.

Who wants to play a game that doesn't reward you for accomplishing a difficult task?

untrue.

I know of players who have tuned pearls (good) to over 100/100, better then -5 fc and speed faster then -0.20. These stats are ALL on the same tunning of the (good) quality pearl/crystal.
