With the dumbing down over Jedi since the start of the CU, I think we have a valid argument for a severe cut in the amount of negative XP you can get into. Of course it can't be removed completely, otherwise Jedi will just lie down and take a death when a Bounty Hunter attacks - or agree to take a cut of the bounty to not put up a fight.
To be perfectly honest, the whole balance of risk versus reward is totally out of whack these days. We have penalties that when combined, sure as hell aren't proportionate to our supposed 1.5 strength.
Changes are most definately needed.
We are not 1.5 times stronger all our good moves get nerfed .
stop lieing your 1.5 stronger , then enterainers anyways,
lol this is ment as a joke to help relive all the anger here

When you bring this up to the devs do you think you could hit them up for a raise in our max banked xp?
When Patch 9 went into effect it brought with it the FRS. Due to the active pvp requirements of this new system the devs rightly removed the skill box loss penalty for death. At this time the devs also increased the pay out for player bounties from 15k per successful mission to hundreds of thousands of credits, and imposed xp loss on the Jedi community of 2k xp per each skill point spent on Jedi skills.
The devs stated that the purpose of this xp loss was to prevent Jedi and BH from teaming up to farm credits off of the player bounty mission system. The caps were set at -10mil and +4mil with no explanation given as to why there was such a large disparity between the two.
The player bounty revamp of P22 removed the names of the Jedi from the mission terminals, and reduced the payouts on missions completed for the same Jedi within a specific period of time. These changes made the ability for BH and Jedi to team up and farm credits much more difficult, and subsequently it effects the original logic behind the negative xp system.
Balancing the penalty to deter potential abuse of the the player bounty system, with risk of loss to both Jedi and BH would likely prove unpopular to a large segment of the player base.
As a result of the recent changes to the player bounty system, and the acceptance that the BH community would not likely want to share in the risk of penalty for potential abuse of the the player bounty system, the negative xp and the positive xp system needs to be re-assessed.
I propose that Padawans carry a tiered negative xp cap proportionate to the current positive xp that they can bank. Additionally it is logical that if higher ranks in the FRS carry a higher neg xp cap, they should also carry a higher banked xp cap. For Knights each rank above Padawan should carry with it an increase to both the negative and positve xp cap of 500k.
The Jedi community has carried the burden of penalty for potential abuse of the player bounty system for over a year now. Certainly the feedback from Jedi players has shown that this one sided penalty has been unpopular.

Ok everyone, I was reading a thread about Jedi that were beyond the negative XP cap and got a little curious. To my knowledge the Jedi negative XP cap is negative 10 million XP. If you reached Master in the old FRS system your XP cap was raised to negative 12 million XP.My questions are:How many of you are currently beyond negative 10 million XP but never reached the Rank of Master? How many of you are currently beyond negative 12 million XP and did reach the Rank of Master?
i think the real issue here is mabari belts
I disagree, the real issue is the invasion of PvE carebears...

Been a Jedi a very long time pal, and one thing I can say for sure is that the "current system" changes from patch to patch.
This thread is not about pvp. It is about the negative xp cap failing to stop at the prescribed limits, and why those limits were added in the first place.

If you don't like PvP then you should not have become Jedi, it was spelled out very clearly what would happen if you became jedi under the current system. If you don't like those requirements, go back to being a TKM.

1) If anyone replies that they reached master BAN THEM for fight clubbing and being part of the cause of demise of pvp on most servers (and I dont care what tiggs said re it was ok to do it, we all know that was rubbish for starters)
2) If they are silly enough to die over and over from BH's its their issue. The hugely neg peeps got a reprieve to -1mil a while back. Any that are in a hole these days its because they should pay more consideration to neg ex rather than jsut ignore it as it builds up.

I keep my jedi in positive xp and the lowest I ever went was around -900k.
I dont think that negative xp should go below 0 and that should be the cap.
