Thread: AI what's the purpose after the ToOW nerf?
my question is this.... with so many changes in Jedi, upcoming changies in squad leader and ranger... shouldn't the players WITH those professions be allowed a single respec out of it.. or to modify their temp...
simply because, especially in the case of Jedi, where there is a huge amount of time invested in their templates, those players chose those professions based on the existing abilites. And when you change a profession/skill so drastically it hardly resembles what you took it for, It's only fair to allow that player a chance to move into something else.
And i don't mean a series of respects to try out new things. one single respec with a timer on it from the time you log in after patch. Try out your existing temp.. if you just can't stand it, you get one respec to be used within, say 2 weeks( for those of us who DON't live in the game and need that time to evaluate prospective templates).
And this would be for any profession that major changes were made in... and no, fixing the heal timers wouldn't warrant a respec.. nore would bring buffs/debuffs in line... i mean MAjor skill changes...
The pending Jedi changes (again) the SL and ranger changes etc.

Jedi Hate pure and Simple guys. its jedi population control. i have already had FS peeps start to question if going Jedi was even worth it because of all the Hate the Devs are throwing our way. Some posted we are a elite hybrid profession they havnt finished yet we will be a hybrid basic profession when they are done. get used to it, Someone at SOE hates Jedi
If they hate Jedi, then they are not star wars fans. And LA has the wrong people working on the game. But not naming any names I sense a certain dev that has jedi hate.

As an escape move, it does period. If you don't understand why it makes sense, that's your problem, but feign death was my single favorite move as a smuggler. If you're in a group, you probably also have a healer or two. Depend on the healers to keep your health up and use AI as a last resort. Learn to adapt and everything will be fine.
Right, healers to keep you alive ... with that nice hate system they have for healers .. it works beautifally /sarcasm off

But what in the hell is the purpose now?
the purpose of it is to turn it on when you are losing a fight and haul a## out of there to save your neck before your force runs out.
the problem is (and the reason for the nerf) that jedi were not using it as its intended purpose. now its intended purpose is being enforced for all you cheaters.

How the hell do you hall ass with the worst snare in the game. Wow someone has done research. Cheaters? LMAO ok.

NPCs and mobs do not snare. AI is intended for PvE just as feign death is intended for PvE. the abuse was happening when jedi using AI in PvE were continuing to tank when they clearly should not.

AI has the slowest snare in thegame ... slower than a crawl speed. And in the new NPC system in Beta NPCS AND MOBS DO SNARE AND ROOT NOW. Do some research.

If AI was supposed to be an escape move it would not have a snare, it is really that simple. (maybe dmg reduction to balance it out).. I do not believe that developers are stupid enough to think that an escape move like that would actually work. The class is called defender, the name says it all. Do you really think their master level move costing 1000f is supposed to be a crappier version of feign death...to get away...Are you crazy ??
I am beginning to wonder if defender was not specifically targeted, and this is just a side effect of better AI for npcs, where they realize that they are not hurting you so they switch over to the next person. Result is still the same.
