as you said before, you only tested for so long and the method used is only so perfect. you didnt start at 0 and go to 60 in each trial, in fact the elapsed time is different between all your tests. i think the percent of error is what gave you those 2 extra attacks you saw not the addition of force speed.

You are incorrect about this. The 60 second interval started at the first attack. If there was no attack that occured during the last 4 seconds of the interval, it wasn't recorded because it did not occur.

Look at this picture. The brackets will indicate the boundaries of the interval, and "l" shapes will indicate the attacks. The "." will indicate periods of time in between. This is how I took the data:

[l.....l......l.......l.....l......l.....l.....l......l......l......l.....l...]..l.....l

Notice that only 12 attacks fell in the 60 second interval.

Yes, there is room for error, but let me argue that the 60 second time interval was sufficient to get a reliable number. The above graph shows that the attacks are about 4.75 seconds apart. If, indeed, the actual interval was that and I increased the testing interval to 10 minutes, you would see the attacks per second go from 12/60 = .2 to about 126/600 = .21. This is a difference of 100% - .2/.21 = 100% - .95 = 5%.

So basically, the difference that you would see in a 10 minute test would be + or - 5% of what I reported.

In addition, the 26.4% attack speed decrease from the -40 attack speed debuff was achieved through an average of the results from the two tests. Also, in addition, I ran two, previous tests over only a 40 second interval, and the results were slightly above the 26.4% number. If I remember, the average of those two results was 27.5%, but you can see that a 60 has a greater probability of being more accurate.

i see, it was my error in thinking you ended your test after counting 60. anyway more to the point, are we trying to get that force speed is spectular? it was unjustly changed before they even looked at fixing sabers speed issues. until sabers speed issue iscorrected then the speed buff doesnt serve as a buff, it only serves to help the jedi achieve near his correct attack speed. you shouldnt need to buff to get to listed speed.

Well, each run DID only last 60 seconds. I counted the number of attacks in that time period and wrote it down.

The purpose of all that crap I told you was to show that if I DID conduct tests that lasted 10 minutes each, you would only see the results change about 6%. In other words, the actualdebuff of the -40 combat speed would bebetween 24.8% and 28% IF a ten minute test was conducted.

I don't know about you, but I do not have 40 minutes to sit around waiting to collect data, and there will be nobody willing to by my test subject for that long either. If I can get results that vary no more than 6% away from a more accurate test taking up 10 times the time, then I will do that.

By the way the 6% difference is a 6% difference of the percentage. You aren't going to have the data vary between 20.4% and 32.4%, i.e. 26.4% + or - 6%. You will see it vary between 24.8% and 28%.

I HOPE you can see that a 60 second interval is very much sufficient enough to get an accurate feel of what the debuff can do

my only concern is the elapsed timebeing same, not just perceived to be the same. if that every set of ~16 default swings does indeed take 60 seconds for this guy.

Lol, from the title and the top, it looks like you're calling a nerf! Lol!

I'm just trying to sucker in all of those punks who ARE trying to nerf the skill into reading the whole, damn thing and having their minds opened.

Very well done, and while it probably won't do anything to change minds, thanks.

A big part of the speed buff and debuff issues is the fact that Lightsaber speed is bugged.

My alt attacks almost twice as fast with a 1.44 speed pistol than I do with my 1.3 speed Lightsaber.

Yea, but that is an issue with bugged lightsaber speeds (or whatever), and NOT the speed debuffs.

Do I have to pull my hair out bringing real information to dispell the need to not nerf these skills, skills that are sometimes the only thing some professions really have to offer in a fight 26.4% isn't enough to gut them.

exactly if we 1) had working mods in lightsaber (im takin if the entire lightsaber tree actually did somthing lol) and 2) if we had access to perfect pearls this debuff would be no prob watsoever

To someone attacking once every 4 seconds, a 26.4% debuff might be kinda big, but to EVERY, OTHER profession out there, this speed debuff is not causing a problem.

I see your point, but the fault lies in your lightsaber mods, and NOT in the debuff. If the devs nerf this debuff, it will be a gigantic nail in the coffin of this game, or at least the subscription that I am paying for right now.

Anybody know offhand the length of each one of those slows? I'm curious to see how Low Blow compares to the others. If it is less, then I'd say we have solid grounds for asking for an Improved Low Blow (with longer combat speed debuff) in the master box. We are supposed to be the top crowd control profession, after all.

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

Yes it does, it can cut your DPS at least in half, nerf is needed.
