Thread: Don't people realize that Ebay is ruining this game's economy?
TraceAntilles.. do you Work for SOE? Are you Applying for a job there andsuggesting this as some sort of proof of idiocy so you can fit in with them and get a job?
Im normally an open minded individual, but after reading all of your defenses to such a ludicrious idea. I realize you should take upon the idea that toilet water is good to drink from, and therefore demonstrate the goodness ofsuch an idea over and over again while i laff and afk for a tinkle break.

They just need to put more loot and credits in the game to stop it. If a player has a choice to go grind for loot in a reasonable amount of time or buy it they have a choice and this will drive the prices down on nearly everything.
Do that and increase decay rates and the credit farms will eventually desolve because people can just get the items through putting in time playing and looting it or paying for it to save a little time.
Right now the early SWG subscribers have all the cash and Items so stuff is out of reach of newbies and casuals. It shouldnt be but it is that way. Just flood the market with items and cash and the lil chinese kids will have to just make their living selling Pre made Jedi and other professions.
Increase the decay so you create a larger demand. In a since boost the supply, increase demand with decay and give people more cash so all the companies that have been farming it will go bust.
No one is gona pay 20 mil for a Necrosis loot that will last 2 weeks. Have Necrosis drop 4 times the current amount of items and reduce the items lifespan. Do that with everything and by by Credit farms.

This is the solution. Make it like the German hyper-inflation of the 1920s. That'll fix everything.
It might be fun to watch, too.![]()

it always comes back to the pearls lol every thread lol
Lol, I mean, when you kill an NPC, you get like a measley (sp) couple hundred credits - if you're lucky.
That's what's so pathetic and that's why no one but brand new players bother to loot those bums.
But if you put like 20K on 'em, wow, everyone would be out shooting and looting in the streets again! It would be wonderful.
But no, SWG's all-wise and ominpotent devs think it's better to let sweat shop Asian kids play for 20 hours a day for 10 cents an hour and sell those credits back to us on Ebay.
I mean, golly, is this that tough to figure out?![]()

Sad but true, and yet completely hilarious
Wrong!!! the economy sucks atm cause all therare lootsand reward weapons crap and the lack of premie pearls.. and who did all that Ebay???? ill give ya a hint you pay them 15 bucks a month..
If credits were not so freely given out to new players and players weren't able to sell credits on ebay, you'd see a DRAMATIC reduction in vendor prices on everything.
Yes the more rare loot would stay more expensive but compared to how it is now, it would dramatically reduce, it'd be WAY more attainable.
It's funny to read the flames that obtain nothing but insults. It's like some of these morons can't figure out a solution, can't argue a solid point against ones that are made, so their last resort is name calling.
They insult themselves so I don't have to even bother!

/covercharge has those limits already. That wasn't my suggestion.
I'm headed to bed now, I'll come back tomorrow and read what other scenarios are left, but so far it's been more of the same as far as these scenarios go and I've already addressed them.
I still can't believe people would accpet an inflated economy so willingly.

Imagine it's a real life situation and the economy is being worsened by counterfeiting (it's not exactly counterfeiting but has the same effect.) Your solution is to put a price cap on everything (creating artificial scarcity) and make it so people have to go to the store to buy anything. If anything, it would switch eBay selling from credits to goods (weapons, armor, and whatnot.)
No offense, but this is the wrong forum to post this at.
Jedi forum.

The solution is real simple. The developers need to intervene first off and they haven't even addressed it.
