no, ebay is doing what ebay does....its people who are litteraly making a real life living off farming credits that are ruining our economy. dont blame a service on what people use it for...and if you want even more responsibility, if people didnt buy credits then their selling them on ebay would be worthless. If you want to do something about it, be the highest bidder, get them in game with a csr watching and nail them. Dont complain about them unless you are willing to do something about it.If Ebay was aware that this breaks a rule or a law ebay wont allow the listings. I am an original ebayer and if soe would just right a simple letter to ebay they would not be able to list credit sellings.

That would be fine if you wanted tocompletely nerf merchants and crafters (and everybody else who sells anything). It kind of makes the ability for a master merchant to put 4000 items on the vendors pointless. It's a bad idea to limit what someone can do in game and also ruins the economy by basing it on something other than supply and demand.

You really want to fix the problem? Nerf mission payouts to groups. That's where the artifical inflation comes in. One guy in the group does all the damage while the rest are AFK bots following him around on a speeder, but everybody still gets paid.

Wrong forum, but it's not ebay or the people buying from ebay, it's the dupers and the people who make millions of credits AFK grinding the money. The dupers and the AFK money makers are the ones who are injecting billions, and I do mean billions, of fraudulent money into the economy. One guy alone found a vendor exploit and used it to generate800 million which he promptly spent on all kinds of things, driving prices up in the meantime. As an economist I can tell you that creating huge amounts of money out of thin air causes inflation. What they do with the money is irrelevant (assuming they just don't bank it). It's irrelevant whether they spend it or sell it to others to spend, the problem is in its creation in the first place. So SOE needs to stop the dupers and the AFK money grinders. The problem is, of course, everytime they close one hole, people find another hole. lol.

Wouldn't making NPC lairs just as hard as MOB lairs go a long to fixing the problem. The only reason credit farming works right now is because you can blow up an NPC lair before the NPC's can respond to your attack.

I saw 40.....

Though i think it woudl be faster in the long run if they had a bunch of single sweat shop BH's gettign loots and selling it on a website. Granted the macros system wont work anymore. Woudl be cool to be able to find anything you were looking for for... but charge in game credits..... ok that woudlnt work... still RL cash comes into play

I do consulting work in Asia, and two weeks ago I had my eyes opened on this issue.

I met a "friend of a friend" over here, who's business is credit farming, and apprently he's only working SWG.

Over dinner, he quite casually stated that he had 1,000 kids working for him, and he sold the credits in bulk to IGN, which cut him a check for $50,000 WEEKLY.

I think I'm in the wrong business.

He'd better be cutting checks to that 1000 kids weekly based on their hourly wage at minimum wage otherwise he's viiolating labor and child exploitation laws.

But concidering he's got over a thousand kids, his $50k check is either getting split up pretty bad or he's doing somthing that will get him 5 to 25 years in a federal prision.

I think it's your 'friend of a friend' that's in the wrong buisness, and I would suggest that your 'friend of a friend' get out of it before an FBIwatchdogger see's this post and tracks him down.
