This point is semi meh.

"Control" in your eyes means before they unlock, however control in some eyes also encumpases the people who "QUIT" or give up the path to Jedi because it's too trying, or difficult or because they're 10 million experience points in the hole and haven't gotten 0044 LS.

Grinding Gets Boring, a BH to spice things up every once in a while is cool (esspecially when it's a good fight and you beat them in the end.) The thing that's not cool, is the system that visibility works on. Something as minscule asa meter, to show how closeto the BH boards and can actually see what they're doing that's giving them visibility would ease alot of tension.

If you say you didn't agree to the above when you made the choice to become a Jedi, then you are, sir, a complete moron that probably should have done his research before logging on to ebay.

The best Jedi I've met embrace the difficulties of the profession and become stronger and more difficult to hunt as a result of it.

A fight with these Jedi is always something to remember, for all the right reasons. Honour on both sides, an understanding that both are here to serve a purpose, and even a mutual respect.

Then there are the weak Jedi that can't handle the difficulties, but persevere because they want to be 'uber'.

Encounters always resulted in hate tells, spam, and death-threats.

Despite the inconveniences, I love those Jedi the most.

They paid for my DE-10 and ADK.

I have no intention of making my alt.a BH. I understood completely when I chose to become a Jedi that I would be hunted, stalked and eventually killed.

I look forward to the challenge you present, and Bounty Hunters that do things the way you do.

While I personally think that the profession is an INHONORABLE one strictly in a role-playing sense, I also feel that there are some very Honorable Bounty Hunters. Worthy opponents indeed. You seem to be of that breed.

/Salute Excellent Post

I would love tosuccessfully comment on that "fact", but since I decided to and became a jedi before this system of XP loss I can't say that I did. I knew I would be hunted and killed, but not lose XP (sure there was skill loss before, but that wasnt the same at all)...So whos the complete moron now?

Now do I understand that this could happen to me now? Of course, and while I dont like the system I have to accept it...but dont go saying every jedi knew of this before they became a jedi cause that is a complete lie.

No. I agreed to be a Jedi. I did not agree to to be griefed. That's the fact you're groping for.

No offense, but when you "agreed" to be a Jedi, you accepted the rules that came along with it. One of those rules is, if you gain enough visibility, you will be on the terms...and you will be hunted. Now, if you consider that "griefing" then there's an issue with your understanding of the game. However, I definitely understand that "griefing" does happen, but as long as a BH plays within the established rules, there can be no room for complaints.

Let 5 BHs hunt me. Let me hold my own. If I die, so be it. That's what I get for being on the terms. If I win, it might send a message to the BHs on my server that I'm a bit tougher than they expected. Either way, understand the rules and play by them. After all, you "agreed" to be a Jedi.

BTW...I am a Jedi, almost done with my Knight Trials, and have been hunted once by a BH...why? Because I knew the rules and played by them all but once. It IS possible to grind Jedi without gaining visibility...

Live with it.

No I didn't.

Get over yourself.

Sadly...you're right. You didn't agree to get griefed when he became a Jedi.

You did, however, agree to face the consquences of letting others (players, NPC's, droids, vendors) see you use the gifts that you were granted when you became Jedi. And sadly (for you anyways) the consequences of these actions is that you have allowed yourself to be "griefed" by Bounty Hunters. Sorry chief, but you chose your path. You knew before you became Jedi that this could happen, get your saber back out, and try to be more careful who sees it. Maybe you'll pout and cry till SOE changes the system yet again to suit their golden children...till then, I'll enjoy hunting you and those like you.

Without a doubt, the most revealing post about how most BH's think of jedi... and why they go out of their way to troll the jedi board, and bring 5 on 1 gank squads, and use adk psg's....

But if the CUis evidence enough that your point of view is incorrect. major nerf to jedi major buff to bh. Who's the 'golden child' now?

Good post, but...
When have bounty hunters ever been considered honorable? Killing for money is not an honorable profession.

I dunno, I've always been considerd pretty honorable. As in, I'm fighting a jedi, another bh attacks, and a jedi runs into building (EXPLOIT, if you'd like ill post my screenie of my csr response assuring its an exploit). The jedi /tells me he'll fight me to the death if i let him dispatch the other bh. I comply. The jedi kills the other bh pretty easily, and we go at it for about 15-18 minutes, then he runs into cantina again.

Although the jedi didnt keep his part of the bargain, i did. That is honorable. You see, we are on diferent sides of the spectrum. I repeatedly encounter jedi greifing/exploiting on a regular basis. (keep in mind, i didnt say all do it. IT IS what I encounter) I actually have a larger number of jedi i know that abuse things rather than being honorable. And im not exaggerating, I have no reason to. I'm a respected bh on my server, and a true ranged warrior.

I think the whole game needs a check, and should learn we all aren't bh's or jedi, and shouldn't be. I've been a bh for a long itme and despise seeing all these people going bh because they hear of the amazing things happening to it in the cu. I think those are the worst players of all.

Bounty Hunter is an honorable title. I am a Bounty Hunter

i guess i've missed a lot on my sabbatical if going into a cantina was an exploit. I mean i see people going into cantina's all the time, guns blazing.. but its an exploit now?

Are you sure he just didn't want to work on your close quarters weakness? Was that it maybe? mm?

Nice post... Amen to that.

However a word of advice from a fellow hunter to another... its best (as a Bounty hunter) to keep your nose out of the Jedi forums. While there are numerous valiant and upstanding, mature jedi, plagued with trollsand angry padawans the jedi forumsare. Hell, I have even been flamed when offering advice and strategies to get away and keep clear of bounty hunting. Its truly amazing the frustration that gets vented here.

As far as you jedi that dont see any honor in bounty hunting are concerned, let me ask you this, what do you find more honorable:

A) Getting ganked by 5 BH, who then spit on your corpse and laugh

or

B) Nearly falling out of your chair in suprise as you suddenly find yourself incapped, only to see a looming BH over your corpse (one that caught you completely off your guard), saluting you, and doing a bit of RP to at least make things more interesting than a simple /spit emote if nothing else.

or

C) You come to find that the same BH from B) above has brought a doctor with him to rez you to mitigate some of your experience loss, then gives you some pointers on how to avoid this fate in the future?

NO honor in bounty hunting.... I find that statement laughable. Just a warning to you jedi that dont show respect for your predators.... remember, that respect is a two way street. Bounty hunters can make your life easy, easier, hard, or just plain hell.

Message Edited by -crovaxian- on 04-08-2005 04:18 PM

bounty hunting has no honor unless the target is forewarned about the attack. Most bhers will attack a pady when they are grinding and kill them b4 they even realise what the hell is going on, i cant see the honor in that. If the target is aware of the attack (even though the bounty hunter always gets the first move) i would consider that honorable. And if the Bounty hunter has brought a doc with him to res, then any padawan with an ounce of honor would have cloned anyway. I do know bounty hunters with honor, dont get me wrong. But there is no honor in killing a padawan grinding, you may as well be killing them in your sleep.
