I really wish I could go into hiding and grind out my skills solo. It would make me feel more like a jedi in this time period. I unlocked postCU and I have to say you are right to a certain degree.

The CU made grouping for xp almost necessary. Unless you want to take 2 years to finish a template. I'd kinda like to be the jedi hermit that lives in the wilds of Dathomir or Yavin4 or Endor.

But I deal with the cards I'm dealt.

When I was young we did not have cellphones or internet.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

One i have unlocked prepub 9.....was hard to grind and hard to unlock...but really rewarding in the end!

The second i have unlocked 30 days ago and now i already have a FULL TEMP JEDI....so what remains of the jedi profession?

Its power? No not really...jedi are not that powerful believe me

Its coolness? Well, if you need to have a jedi in SWG to feel cool........you have some problems

Its exclusivity? No more......as you can see i grinded a full temp jedi in 30 days...chatting with 8/10 other jedi...smashing lairs without thinking.

Where is the old good SOLO grind on Endor ?

Where is thatunique feelinginspired by the fact that you were fighting in an hostile planet on your own?

Where is that sense of risk that made the grind exciting?

Where is the adrenaline given by a dot appearing on your radar?

No more emotions in being jedi, no more passion.............no more moral reward.

Because back in the days creating a jedi and grinding it out till full was the proof of your victory against the game itself, now its a mere extra pg that requires no effort.

Unlocking my second jedi gave me some emotion......then i realized how easy was to grind and how common was the process.......no more hiding, no more risk...no more EMOTIONS.

I hope SOE will nerf these spin groups so all of you new padawans can experience what being a Jedi really means.

-Comparative appendix

Post CU

Full-template grinding time: 28 days in spin groups

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 3.2 Millions (!!)

BH encountered: 0

Pre CU

Full-template grinding time: 3 months and a half

Max EXP gained in one playing day (8hrs): 950k

BH encountered: 7

I dont think this game will be the new KOTOR in the future.

I am not angry for that.

I am angry with the new system because it does not give the right "emotional" reward for being a jedi...

Once again, just a game. If the game sucks for you, quit, if you don't give a rats piss, stay and play until it sucks, then quit.

I've got my jedi, big deal, i'm pre-cu, big deal all jedi suck now anyway. But the reason I don't care...its a freakin game. Its all made up, you pay 15 a month for some entertainment outside of your normal, or in many of your cases, sad, pathetic, and not so normal lives.

In the end the thing that pisses me off the most is that so many people cry about a game. Its not even worth it guys and girls, just go have fun, or leave, and go have fun doing something else.

Its that simple.

Kthxbye

Im sure we all get eht point now about XP coming faster post cu vs pre-cu considering that we aren't even beating the dead horse now but are in fact kicking at the spot where the deadhorse was in hopes of getting a piece of dust.

Before I even get into it though I really wna tto know why so many people treat a system as boring and unimginative as grinding like its some sort of spiritual right of passage. "I spent 6 years on endor killing mereks and nowI have discovered inner peice." Its garbage, what we should be asking for is a legitimate way to level, not to completely remove grinding but to add some content to it so we could say I achieved more than the death of 350000 pickets. Grinding isnt hard unless you count the fight of boredom its just dumb.

Personally Id have much ratehr done the grind solo relying on a group to achieve a template is a PITA. Sure when a group is at full spin with people actually trying to help the tank/Damamge dealersand not just sitting their leeching then sure it was nice. But it seems to me that moe often that not you had 2 or 3 people out there trying while the rest whipped out their training sabers and set there assist macro, and NEVER healed anyone because it might send aggro their way. The current system rewards the lazy and only presents a challenge to the people trying. Add to the fact that I got more vis grinidng from group members thanI did by making some mistake of my own. So yeah make a system where I could make the XP of an average Jedi Precu and Id be all for it. Until that comes you cant say nerf spin groups and send then all back to endor. Because right now 80% of endor would give 1xp per kill and the rest would take so long to kill youd get 10k of xp and have to rest to chanel/regen for 10-20 min.

As far as unlocking now vs pre-pub nine being easier, Im gonna have to throw the BS flag on that. By the time the game was six months old (whenI started playing) there was no real secret about how to unlock other than what professions to do and by the time the game was 8 monthsl old the holo-grind was in full swing. Currently (especialy w the combat xp change) the grind to unlock takes more xp than if you were to grind all 32 professions. And because of the gating system of the phasesit takes more time wich is probably the primary reason hologrinding ended, to slow unlocking down.

Laastly, and this is my biggest problem with posts like yours. Its like from some inner need people come here and post and say "You got your Jedi this way and now you will never be as good as me" Its garbage. Its like your out to completely undemine everyone elses expereince fo rthe sake of your own validation. Its really quite sad. Im not saying thats your intention but already you have people replying to your thread saying things to the tune of "you weren't there so youll never understand how much better than you we are" . Well I was there and I saw just as much whining, exploiting, power grinding, amnd calls for nerf as I do now.
