Jedi back then were not afk grinding. They were bugging the geo caves and the DWB. Then when they nerf that wehad tospend hundreds of lonely nights (myself probably 8 months total on endor alone looking over my shoulder) killing mob after mob. There was no ryatt trail where seekers didnt work. And spending 600 hours looking for krayts and Nightsister elders was simply effort. And we were rewarded for that effort. If you would talk to any of your servers' loot hunters they would have told you, to make a krayt spawn you need to kill the lairs and other mobs around the POI and with in 45mins a krayt would spawn.

Fixed.

I started my grind post CU and did not finish till after CU .....I was only using a 3rd gen that the time cause force cost was way to high to use a 4th gen. A majority of my prem. pearls went to the the finished temp jedi's in the guild.

The only thing I would like is the same opportunity you have to make a perfect saber . If it takes killing a 1 mil krayts so be it ....at least I have a chance.

they also had the warren bugged, friend of mine got full template in 1month using the warren, took me longer then that and i started postcu and went into precu grindin also, never bugged a place or exploited once.

Im so sick of the whining about the lack of flawless / premium pearl drops. Where does it say in this game that everyone is entitled to them ? Where does it say everyone should be equal ?
The main problem isnt lack of drops, its the younger generations belief system. I am thoroughly versed in how they think having done extensive market research and focus groups on this generation since they started spending money. They believe that they are entitled to everything. Its their right to win at everything and have everything. The problem is they dont understand that only effort equals reward. Somewhere down the line when mommy and daddy gave them one too many gifts for getting C's on their report card they assumed this misconception.
So let me fix this misconception for you...
You are not entitled to rule every game. In fact in mmorpgs only a small few, maybe 1% ever get that elite sword or super rare armor piece. Jedi are no different. There will and should be some that simply will always beat you.
Effort equals reward. Just like in real life folks, effort means small or big rewards. In the case of SWG, if one started playing since launch and worked hard grinding and hunting those nasty krayts they obviously deserve to rock. Lets not forget how difficult krayts were back then, sometimes taking 45 minutes to take one down with no guarantee of a pearl drop (or a good tune for that matter). These jedi have been playing the game longer, and therefore SHOULD be better. They put the time and energy in. They worked harder than post-cu jedi plain and simple. And like life, they are better because of it.
Not every part of a mmorpg must be perfectly balanced between professions. Sure the devs try and make things within reason but gear will always set some apart. Jedi are the same, some will get better skill tapes and pearls.
If you really want to play a generic watered down mmorpg where everyone is the same and nice and balanced equally then may I suggest trying World of Warcraft. Over there a level 60 warlock is equal to every other level 60 warlock. This is the beauty of SWG, effort matters and can set you apart from the rest....Just like life.

Here's a very simple little equation for you:

Reward = (Time Invested x Risk = Character Power)

Here are some bullet points:

-The Jedi in the movies are an extremely "Alpha class" The SW saga is entirely formed around their exploits.

-The Jedi profession in SWG is the most difficult and strenous to attain and maintain.

-The Jedi profesison in SWG in its very conception was supposed to be an Alpha class, at which a "Master" would be able to solo squadrons of regular professions before being defeated.

-The only incentive for a class that is in essence the only "Forced PvP profession" in SWG is power. (At least 1.5x) The SoE profession cannot justify the difficulty required to attain and maintain this profession if the reward is not power.

Post-CU Jedi are supposed to be 2nd class Jedi

Forgive us for using the system that is in front of us when we unlocked. Grow up and think about it for a second maybe?

It's funny...they act like killing krayts was hard then...a tkm could stand in front of a krayt the entire time while the jedi just beat them up. It's a joke seeing these pre-cu jedi so afraid of us being balanced with them. "It's unfair that they have the same opportunities as us." Wow.

Pre CU I used to run with the same few guys we'd go out in force & spend hours on end hunting down kryats & split the loot, & then the news of teh CU hit & we go the whole guild out in force all day every day hunting singing mountain clan Nightsisters & kryats

Most of the people in my guild at that time remmember the focus on getting pearls & crystals for teh people who where already or about to go jedi before the CU because quite frankly we didn't know if it was going to be effected we made it a focus while we could probabvly got well over 1k in that month over the whole guild. Nobody in my crew is whining about them because we where prepared thanks in large part to teh forsight of my mayor Eve'lyn, and several vettes who learned not to take anything for granted in this game.

The people who are new to teh guild & are jsut turnign jedi we go out in groups & farm GOOD crystals by the dozens for them to make thier gameplay experience better. When / IF they bring back prem/flawless even at 250 CL we will do the same.

Agreed. pre cu i could solo canyon krayts (the full grown ones) with my master pikeman/master fencer with medic.....solo....took about 10 minutes and some careful planning. try that now.

wth is your point?

i don't expect the pearls to be handed to me on a silver platter but i at least want the chance to go out there and get some because all of these pre cu jedi who had nothing better to do but farm premiums for hours and hours earned it?

i would be willing to make the effort to EARN them but I CANT EVEN DO THAT.

Like I said to another elitest whiner like yourself in a similar thread, there is no reason for you tobash younger jedi for wanting access to premium and flawless pearls and sabers that can be made as strong aspre-cu saber. Those people that expect things to be handed to them without work may deserve your scorn, but the problem is not all younger jedi wanting things handed to them on a silver platter, the problem is that it is impossible for a jedi crafting a saber post-cu and using only post-cu components to put together a saber equal to a pre-cu saber.

My problem is that no matter how good the resources I use are or how many expermentation points I have (nearly capped resources and +23 LS Exp crafting suit), the sabers I can craft are not as good as pre-cu sabers. I've worked hard to gather the best resources, so why does my hard work earn me the right to be able to craft a saber comparable to a pre-cu saber? I don't care if they remove everything above 'poor' level crystals and pearls, I'll just have to tune 2,000 instead of 200 to get the best tunes. Out of all the crystals/pearls I've tuned, the four in my saber at the moment, 1 was fair, 1 was good and 2 were premium. I have plenty of leftover crystals, but no need to tune them.

The only thing separating pre-cu and post-cu jedi is a bit more experience and the capability of crafting comparable sabers. Playing time can overcome the experience deficit. Nothing but a fix from the Devs can remedy the discrepancy that is unjustly bestowed upon pre-cu jedi that allows them to have a stronger crafted saber simply because they unlocked at a different point in time. What you and the other elitests and whiners should be doing, rather than poking back and forth at one another, is to attempt to constructively seek to resolve this problem(preferably not nerfing pre-cu sabers, but rather making better crafting results possible post-cu).
