The main problem isnt lack of drops, its the younger generations belief system. I am thoroughly versed in how they think having done extensive market research and focus groups on this generation since they started spending money. They believe that they are entitled to everything. Its their right to win at everything and have everything. The problem is they dont understand that only effort equals reward. Somewhere down the line when mommy and daddy gave them one too many gifts for getting C's on their report card they assumed this misconception.

You are not entitled to rule every game. In fact in mmorpgs only a small few, maybe 1% ever get that elite sword or super rare armor piece. Jedi are no different. There will and should be some that simply will always beat you.
Ahh but everyone should have the same chance at the "elite sword" or "armor piece"...
Effort equals reward. Just like in real life folks, effort means small or big rewards. In the case of SWG, if one started playing since launch and worked hard grinding and hunting those nasty krayts they obviously deserve to rock. Lets not forget how difficult krayts were back then, sometimes taking 45 minutes to take one down with no guarantee of a pearl drop (or a good tune for that matter). These jedi have been playing the game longer, and therefore SHOULD be better. They put the time and energy in. They worked harder than post-cu jedi plain and simple. And like life, they are better because of it.
Ahhh, but now you are cutting out people who couldn't farm them early, or use terrain bugs, AI bugs, were crafters, fill in the blank... I know you guys had to walk uphill both ways, and had 1 damage sabers, and fell over dead everytime a bh got within999m of you, but you can't deny a chance to earn equality. That's what SOE is doing right now by not allowing Prem/Flawless to drop at all...
Not every part of a mmorpg must be perfectly balanced between professions. Sure the devs try and make things within reason but gear will always set some apart. Jedi are the same, some will get better skill tapes and pearls.
This isn't a problem as long as you can try to earn that equality, but trying to cut someone off... sorry never works.
If you really want to play a generic watered down mmorpg where everyone is the same and nice and balanced equally then may I suggest trying World of Warcraft. Over there a level 60 warlock is equal to every other level 60 warlock. This is the beauty of SWG, effort matters and can set you apart from the rest....Just like life.
Even if premium and flawless drops were still reinstated, it would take months, if not longer, for a minor percentage to get a few decent tunes off several. This will allow you to keep your security blanket for some time before you lose your "uberness"...
As it stands now if FRS was reinstated, pre-cu, including me, would walk over post-cu without issue. Now if you think that you have a right to do this, itshows your concerned for nothing but your own selfish aims.

I have a good saber post CU (645 max damage Isnt to shabby )so this doesnt effect me all that much but it s a real problem for our entire community. Right now a player (whiner or not)can go out and put all the effort in the word into crystal or pearl hunting and wont get anytning better than a qualitycrystal (or good pearl)I think (definitely not premium). Now you can tell me all you want about how if you tune enough goods sooner or later blah blah blah. But lets just do some realisitc looking at tunes.
WhenI unlocked I had 5 premuim Crystals and 74 other various crystals and pearls from good on down. Now knowing that at the time I could sell my premium crystals for a minimum of 8 mil each (double that now)I decided to tune everything elseI had before touching the premies. BEST tuneI got out of that group of 74was a 56 damage /-4 fc /-.17spd. Tuned the 5 premuims and theWORSTI got was a 87 damage/-9fc/.27spd. So tiggs can play down the importance of premium crystals and pearls by saying that all crystals have the chance of tuning to perfect but its pretty obvious that one that says premium has a far better chance than one that says good.
There was about 3-4 monthsPre-CU where I could buff my Master Brawler/Master Swords/TKM /2040 medic and spend 3 hours in the desert killing Krayts and walk away wtih an average of 4 premium pearls a session. At the time i had no intetnion of going Jedi so I slod them all or gave them to a guildie who now has a beter than post-cu can be saber. It wasnt harder then it is now, longer but certainly not harder.
1. Find Giant Krayts (during the period im talking about you could trip over them)
2. Eat your thak
3. Target and run your nonstop headhit macro, work in a mindhit and intimidate2 macroorevery 30 secs, throw in your cob...
4. Wait 15 minutes and check for loot.
5. Head back to step 1
The KD/Dizzy wasn't a problem because even if the giant knocked you down it would reapply its knockdown and stand you right back up.
I dont begrudge any pre-cu Jedi that has a better saber than me. As we know even if i get 4 perfect pearls there will still be Jedi w better sabers because of their base stats from pre-cu. I accept that. But what im sick of is the Jedi with the this problem doesnt effect me so fuh q attitude. It really is discouraging to come into these forums where all these older Jedi preach from on high about how "this isnt a problem"...or "new Jedi dont deserve to have this"...its garbage nothing more.
Its not about being Uber (or Ubber if you prefer) Its about even being remotely competative. If better than quality crystals were dropping right now Id be right behind you saying people shouldn't whine. Right now the chances of getting even a Decent saber out of Post CU looted pearls/crystals is so low its its practicly nill andI think that gives people a right to complain.

People only AFK grind because killing the same thing over and over isboring and is not content.To be honest if I knew how to AFK grind I would do it.

icant disagree with this, i spent 6 months grinding my jedi, primarily on voritor trackers and seething bol crushers.it sucked... hard.

hmm afk grinding, is the way to go... I ground out my FS stuff to get to jedi on storm troopers at a static spawn location. Oh dont get me wrong i spend 80+ hours of my life ther with me actually at the keyboard.. then i also realized... why bother wasting my life here.. its not added content.. its a drag... boreing way to get XP. but i had to get it none the less. after earning enough faction for 10 60k faction bases... and dieing many times to imps who would come tef kill me... i made it through... this was before the CU...
afk grinding a jedi now.. same thing its boreing if you find a way to do it i say go for it. just you pay a price now. AFK grind and die to a BH. if your AFK and a BH kills you. SUCK IT UP. you deserved to die. you still earn more XP then you lost. and you wernt at the keys... so youlost nothing.
did i say i am in favor of AFK grinding... if they made earning XP a Value content add... then i would re consider.

Jedi back then were not afk grinding.They were bugging the geo caves and the DWB. Then when they nerf that wehad tospend hundreds of lonely nights (myself probably 8 months total on endor alone looking over my shoulder) killing mob after mob. There was no ryatt trail where seekers didnt work. And spending 600 hours looking for krayts and Nightsister elders was simply effort. And we were rewarded for that effort. If you would talk to any of your servers' loot hunters they would have told you, to make a krayt spawn you need to kill the lairs and other mobs around the POI and with in 45mins a krayt would spawn.
Fixed. I started my grind post CU and did not finish till after CU .....I was only using a 3rd gen that the time cause force cost was way to high to use a 4th gen. A majority of my prem. pearls went to the the finished temp jedi's in the guild.
The only thing I would like is the same opportunity you have to make a perfect saber . If it takes killing a 1 mil krayts so be it ....at least I have a chance.
