Thread: No, Jedi are NOT 1.5x stronger
I don't believe in the 1.5x stronger, not with pearls and my LS the way it is.

I say you are making a mistake, sure Jedi is underpowered and IMO a joke for the work most of the older Jedi had to go through but consider this.....devs have yet to release the FRS. IMO that is going to make or break this profession. Yeah I know, that means you have to wait 4-6 months so maybe the answer is take a break, check the forums every month to see when the FRS comes out. I'm hoping that it somehow separates a Jedi Knight from a Padawan power wise. Now I may be a little to optimistic but I do believe at some point Jedi will need a revamp. Publish 9 designed the Jedi class for a different combat system, that is all too obvious. I mean it's such none sense that the very thing that was supposed to balance us not wearing armor was removed (ls damage), I'm kind of shocked not a lot of Jedi really complain about this because IMO that's a huge advantage right out of the box.
Such a shame that the devs couldn't get Jedi prepared for the CURB, I blame top management for this though as their time schedules force the devs into situations they have to do a half ass job programming.

Not true - my TKM swords 0044 doc 4034, is more than a match for most pre-cu jedi with perfect sabres and I only say most because it has no defences against Mpowers or ranged jedi, and it isn't even a profession that is fully capable of fighting jedi, anything with AB sliced armor would do it a hell of a lot easier.
No jedi is 1.5 times stronger, or even 1 times as strong and no pearls will change that, but let us hope that the FRS will

Misconception. Big damage sabers can make up for lack of PvP skills if the other player is not that good at PvP or has the wrong template.
Any person whether Jedi or not with maxed out equipment will be hard to kill if they know how to PvP. Saying someone is 1.5x stronger because they have a bigger weapon doesn't mean anything, if that's the case a Swordsman with AB resist armor and then using AB on your Jedi can actually outdamage you. Just because you can do more damage than gimped post-CU sabers doesn't mean you are 1.5x as strong.

when you by easy to get equipment can outdamage, outheal and outtank a class thats supposed to be 1.5 something is wrong.

With more and more people unlocking, Jedi HAVE to go through nerfs. For sake of game longevity, other classes should be more appealing than a Jedi. Unforuntaly, SOE is fighting a lost cause... because there's hundreds of people out there who would like to live out their childhood dreams of becoming a Jedi.
IMO, this is the real reason why we don't see the type of pearls that used to drop pre-cu. We can't have every Jedi running around with 700 max damage sabers.
SOE is facing a very critical time right now with this class with the impending FRS. They have many big question marks that they need to address, the two big ones being " What is the role of Jedi in the game, and how will the ability of becoming a Knight effect galaxy gameplay?"
The more people that want to eat cake, the thinner the slices have to be to be fair to everyone...
