Many of you have asked for clarification on this so we have created a knowledge base article that sums it up a bit better.

How does Jedi visibility work in regard to Bounty Hunter terminals?

Each of the following Jedi-relation actions has an associated Jedi Visibility Modifier:

-Equipping a Lightsaber.

-Initiating Combat with a Lightsaber equipped.

-Using any Jedi-related skills that consume Force power.

All PCs and all non-animal NPCs that observe a Jedi performing any of the above stated actions (observed as defined as within 32 meters) will contribute to an increase in the Jedi's Visibility Value (JVV).

-An opposing faction member who views this action will add the full value of the action to the Jedi Visibility Value.

-A Neutral PC or non-animal NPC will increase the JVV by 50 percent of the action's Jedi Visibility Modifier.

-A same-faction PC or non-animal NPC will increase the JVV by 25 percent of the action's Jedi Visibility Modifier.

Being grouped with a PC or non-animal NPC who is viewing this action has no influence on how Jedi Visibility is obtained.

So, wait... we can be grouped with friends then?

Hm... or it could mean that being grouped doesn't help you to avoid getting vis.

That is exactly what it means. Being grouped has no effectin the way thatthe Visibility gained.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does this mean if I am a padawan and engage in combat with my pike and use no jedi powers, I will not generate visibility? I am wondering this because there are still some quests I'd like to complete that will involve killing NPCs. So, I am wondering if I should do them prior to becoming a padawan (I am just about to begin the trials). Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can be a padawan and use your pike, and gain no vis. as long as your force bar isn't used, your good. However if you die and clone, prepeare for some xp loss. safest thing to do is to do it before you start your delivery mission...errr i mean padawan trials.

Alright, so equippint the saber, fighting in front of npcs, fighting among players, yadda yadda yadda, makes you visible.

I get it...

But how MANY times do you have to do each of these to be on the terms?

I know there isn't an EXACT number but what's an estiment.

5-6 people have saw my saber.

& that's about it.

I'm currently no on any terminals.

It's all guess work, I slaughtered loads of marauders (they'd been chasing my ass for over 2K over the desert on endor ) and didn't end up on the terms, few days later some rebel NPC saw me with sabre out and next thing I knew I had a VK directed at meh face. Just stay away from NPC's and PC's to avoid getting on the terms, one seeing you should be enough to make you extra cautious.

It also depends on how much force you expend infront of their beady eyes

Whats scares me more is if I am about to start on a lair and there are npc's 70-100m away, should I carry on with the lair or delete and move on?

I know it issupposed to be 32m but can this be trusted?
