Thread: Innate Armor

Can anyone confirm that the inate armor is as good as an armor with 6000 protection?

I think the inate one is great, though I'm not fighting high end mobs, but level 70ish I tried my 4000 to all protection armor and it protected me less than the inate (as TKM) so now I can think about my looks too when fighting *hehe* (wearing a cammo cloak right now and a katana, looks cool enough for me), also using a "personal shield" and the inate still works great. With COB on I take about 60ish damage from level 72 mobs.

I can't confirm with actual numbers...but I can say, on the test server, my teammate dressed in full ST armor, me dressed in shorts and a jacket, I was surviving more easily than she was, while getting hit on by more critters (I was tanking), and that's even without using Improved CoB. I think (not sure) the ST armor was actually a little better than 6000, yet I was getting hit for less than she was. This is only my thoroughly non-scientific testing, but in my opinion, the innate armor is actually *better* than 6000 point armor.

All my tests are non-scientific as well, but I'm seeing the same results. Last night I went out with another lvl 80 character (I'm TKM/MSwords/Novice Pike right now) and we took CL 82 missions. I was having 0 problem tanking 1 CL 82, for 2-3, I'd be a bit nervous, and have to use a heal or two, for 4-5, I was struggling, but survived with a single incap. When I put my black mountain on with 5000 resists, I had trouble tanking a single CL 82, and 2 took me down in no time.

I too noticed that my innate armor wasn't working, to get it working I equipped a set of battle armor, and then unequipped it all.

I did a RESPEC last night and started new testing. I have FS abilities, so I didn't drop them. As of right now I am:

Master Pikewoman
Master TK
Master Brawler
Sword 0040
Fencer 1011
Combat Prowess 0004
Enhanced Reflexes 0100

I equiped defence/unarmed damage clothing. I used no food or drink. Equiped a 1921 energy PSG. Went out attacking anything I could find using TK weapon only (Blaster Fist).

Took minor to barely any damage what so ever. Best yet...NO DECAY (unless I die and forget to insure).

Used Parry Ripote, Intimidate, COB, and Warcry (seems to be working now). Things seemed to work well.

Ranged professiosn will still be a pain in the butt, but at PvE...things are looking very sweet!

Side note: Watched a wookie Master TK/Master Sword duel a Jedi in a toe to toe no running away friendly duel. Wookie non-Jedi won!

Yeah, great question re whether cybernetic limbs negate innate armor. I'd like to know the answer to that too.

Crash, when you dropped tkm, did you drop it totally or did you retain either the COB skill (0100) or meditate line with cob (4100)? Also, when you dropped tka, did you go to the dwb with master pike, using intimidate and warcry?

at first i dropped tkm completely and took up mbh (so i could wear all my mando ) and cuz
it was apparently a great tank. this combination was terrible lol and my group got angry
cuz i always died..

i then took up a bit of tkm 42x2 or summin and it helped so damn much that i revised a full template
for dwb tanking which i now have.

it is tkm (inate amour, COB, meditation, powerboost) Mswordsman (defstacking, area taunt, attacks and armour
break which is devestating against high res sbd's etc) Pikey xx4x (warcry and intimidate) and fencer 4x3x (def)
along with Master Brawler
TKM is one of the most important of this lot and alltogether this makes a rocking template in terms of crowd
control by area taunts, warcry's and intims while being useful by armour breaking and doing easy kd's and dizzy
while also serving as an uber tank with the 250+ melee def u should get along with high ranged def and the inate
armour..
basically i run around dwb laughing at incapped ppl

i want the cybernetic arm that allows u to rez with no med skills, this would allow my template to reach
full potential inside the dwb thats why i wanna no if it affects our innate armour in any way

That template sounds exactly like the template that I am tuning up right now Crash. I've been considering though, instead of the fencer boxes you took, to pick up the area attack tree of pikeman, to have 0340 pike or something. But maybe i'll look into the fencer defense boxes instead. I guess it's a classic trade off between offense and defense in that decision.

Btw, even if that cybernetic arm negates innate armor, who cares right? Can't you justequip itto rez but otherwise keep it unequipped? Man, I have a lot to look into re the wookie expansion stuff. Some of the loots and quest rewards sound pretty cool.

So I guess Mabari armourweave belts affect the innate armour, even though they provide no protection? Just my AAs are in one =/

i do not believe that the belt will affect innate armor. only actual armor pieces. not a belt, bando or ubese shirt.
