Thread: Question about visibility

Something I've never really been clear on:
I know being 'seen' by players using force powers, holding lightsaber, wearing Jedi robe givers visibility.
Same is also true of npcs but what counts as an npc that gives visibility? Is it a 'humanoid' Is an npc a named character i.e killing an npc called Bob Smith would but killing 'a commoner' wouldnt?
What about faction npcs i.e storm troopers and rebel guards?
Until now I've played it safe killing 'monsters' but if I can fight enemy faction chars without gaining any more visibility that I would killing beasties then it would at least be a bit more fun.
Thanks
Wearing robes has nothing to do with visibility.
But if we kill the BH, our missions should clear and any BH who has it should lose it. Or BH's should have a penalty for dying, I would say skill loss, they lose all investigation boxes, since a BH lives by reputation, they should have to regain the respect of the BH guild to be allowed to take any more Jedi missions.

Didnt know robes didnt give visibility, I usually just play it safe.
But I'm still not clear on what (other than players) give visibility
If you move your cursor over the dots in your radar, if the dot is an 'entity' = no visibility. If the dot is a 'character' = visibility.

Using any Jedi skill that uses force within 32m of a Character = visibility.
Equiping/De-equiping your Lightsaber withing 32m of a Character = visibility.
Each Jedi has a set "pool" of visibility. *using 100 as the terminal threshold*
As you do something that causes visibility, your pool fills. When you hit 100 - your mission is on the terminals. If your 100, it will take three weeks for the pool to be empty, baring any other visibility actions.
So, if your a rebel and Joe rebel rolls by you while you dervish a lair, you gain 10 points. If Joe Imperial rolls by, you gain 25 (different faction), the longer there in range (32m) the more you gain.
a few points of visibility will drain after a few days. However, I suspect when you trigger your mission (100), if you fight a BH, you will put more points in your pool, hence the missions not dropping (your over the limit).
This is why it's worthwhile to run and hide from a bh if your a low level padie. you gain nothing by fighting, other than more visibility and exp loss.
For the record, I had five drive bys, numerous Probot droids (which are entities), and my saber lit off on auto agro at the smugglers outpost on endor in front of five players. (however, the old default attack did not use force, hence, no visibility)
I also stayed on Endor for my a majority of my grind.

whoa whoa whoa..
so...if i kill a Bh who had my mission my visibility should go to zero and other BH's who have my mission lose it?
ok..I recently killed a Bh went back to my house to drop some inventory off and another showed up!
Bug or am I misunderstanding?
No, killing a BH does nothing for your viz.

I think it is safe to say, anything that drops credits is an NPC....not sure about the feral wookies on Kash though. They might be considered NPCs and not drop credits, not too sure though. If anyone can confirm this, that would be appreciated.

there wasn't a vis wipe, but the BH have been having troubles with the terminal since last patch, where it was just chock full of offline marks. Since there were no names, for all they knew they were drawing the same jedi over and over that were offline, causing in a lot to just take a short break or go after npc marks. Supposivly this was just fixed on tc I believe tho
hotfix went live for this and its working properly
