You misunderstood point #5:

Its meant as an NEED in addition to make Jedi uber again:

THe BH NEEDS a "ar...kick FS attack then", to balance him to Jedi (AND ONLY TO JEDI).

That is the "trick"...the KEY...to get balance into this relationship.

Amazing btw, that a BH himself agrees to most points.

Isnt that nuff to see what we need, SoE ?

Well...this is only a point of view, last days all I (ME) see is noob-BHs and respec hunters.

And btw, there is no NEED for a "pop control", why should?

If you follow the idea of the Jedi pop-need, my argument would be:
"Make BH grind the same madness like Jedigrind, it IS the opposite profession..."

You see, there are pros and cons.

But there is a major aspect:
When the Jedi/BH thing is solved and "fair"....you dont NEED any pop-control anymore, since no1 is disturbing on any of them, neither BH...nor Jedi.

I tell you....do it in some way like discussed here and you will face a new game....(OH NO...not again ->Points to CU bughell:-P)

good replys, tnx.

The "4h lock" for 1:1 BHunting:
VERY VALID...."we" need to finetune this, cuz i can "hire" 3 alts, 4 guildies, 8 friends and block my own mission endlessly...valid valid....hmmmmmm

I mean...reality is, i know from "powergrinders" that (no joke) had 5 BHs blocking their friend constantly. It is generaly an exploit. The number 5 makes it HARDER to exploit but not impossible.

Ok...ideas:

1.When the XP loss is gone, i dont care about BH anymore !
(Mostly...)

2.
Same faction BH will never see you on terms ( i always find it hillarious, that a samefaction BH is chasing his "Brother")

3. BH are not neutral anymore.
Either you work for the Empire or for the Rebellion
IF you are neutral, you may only hunt smugglers, other BHs and NPCs. But "factionated" players are only huntable by opposite faction. The whole game is about faction, why not here ?!

Only the Emperor gives out Jedi missions
Only the Jedis give out Sith missions
So RebBH get Sithmissions, IMPS get light Jedimission


4.Own guild-BH will never see guildie-Jedis.
This mechanism blocks both (Jedi and BH) 24 also after guild leaving (to avoid exploiting this by quickly /guildremove self and retagging later)

5. A single BH is not allowed to TRY (even TRY!) the same mission (mark) for 7 days (try=getting the mission again)
If a BH fails in the movie, he would not get the same mark again....

A 7 Day block would avoid "Friend/Alt exploiting" on the target (blocking mission) incase my friend/alt is opposite faction (see above: Same faction)




OR....MOST EASY:
5:1 PULLING allowed, but not ATTACKING.

Why not "tighten" the "TEF lock" by saying:
The first BH who attacks locks the Jedi "out" of TEF, he is NOT attackable by any other BH anymore for the period of combat. He is also not attackable by other regulars/Jedis (incase the mark is overt).

The Jedi gets a "refresh security window" after the combat is over. This window will allow the Jedi to "re-force", "re-food" (stomache emptying) etc.

A Jedi in this window is not allowed to:
Use a Shuttle, use a Starship, call a vehicle.

This is to avoid exploting it:
BH "A" attacks, get Jedi down half but is close to die.
BH "A" drops mission now quickly from Datapad and BH "B" takes over <- Exploit, so the "window"

Jedi exploit:
Avoiding combat (and making use of non-attack window) by escaping. Thats why he cant shuttle/starship/vehicle.

The combatlock is also removed instantly if:
One of both hasnt made a combatmove TO THE OTHER (lair/critter exploiting to break timer) for 60 seconds

and

moving away from the foe more then 500m


Especially the last would be not exploitable cuz of rule "60s no combatmove".

See, if the BH wants to exploit by getting the Jedi half down, then simply run off 500m to make BH #2 jumping in, the Jedi HIMSELF can block this exploit by simply following BH1 and not letting him move away more then 500m. Vice versa...


Should work.....oppinions ?

Yep, that was my idea.

For me, its so very clear that Jedi/BH is NEVER EVER "balancable"

1. Jedis are uber=BH WHINE
2. BH are SAME strength=Jedis whine

But if the Jedi is uber in PvE (and PvP in defense) and the BH is "standard profession" in PvE but has special "Jedi sensitive" combatmoves, the whole game is balanced in this issue "suddenly" but NO SIDE is whining anymore.

Especially NOT when XP loss is removed.

So simple....so good.....FUN !

But if you die to a BH in his changes, you don't lose XP, so it wouldn't matter. It would allow those who enjoy random PvP to have fun and those who just want PvE to enjoy the game also. I agree with the idea that the XP penalty makes the game less fun than it normally would be. After all, Jedi are the only ones who are threatened by it and that is one huge reason why I quit playing other SOE games like Everquest. No one likes to lose experience and it does develop some grief(ing). I also agree that it has not trimmed the Jedi population up as much as it was probably intended, and that if the Jedi population is to be trimmed, other possibilities should be looked into. I believe that if they want to penalize Jedi for dying to a BH, other alternatives could be found, such as having an XP penalty for a set amount of time after dying to a BH. Sure it would be uncomfortable, but the XP would continue to be positive, and considering how much XP we make as it is, this could still cause Jedi to try to stay hidden, yet not upset them so much when they die. The entire BH vs Jedi system should be looked at and tweaked somewhat to make the experience positive for both sides. As it is now, only the BHs are enjoying the hunt, and I believe the Jedi should enjoy it as well. I wouldn't mind being hunted if I knew that I would not be 'in the hole' for XP if I died, but if I knew I'd lose a percentage of all XP I gained after I died for a set amount of time, it would make me fight to not get that penalty.

Well, some1 said to me just "Pub 20 will remove groupvisi".

Hmm....hmmmm....im PRETTY sure, SoE will "counterbalance this" with a raised visifactor/multiplier for all other ocassions.

So...keep your saber in inventory and dont run around forcehealing on starports /wink

Ok....the rest we see in Pub21, SoE ?

whats up with people complaining about 5:1 like we walk up to the terminals do a /slap and automatically all5 of the same persons mission pops up?


coordinating a 2v1 can take anywhere from 30 mins to an hour itself (assuming the person doesn't log off by the time you get the mission, he's not hiding in a building or on kashykk)


i have yet to coordinate a 3v1, have spent several hours trying with no success


4v1.... can we say pulling an all nighter


5v1.... who the hell even does this?


if you have 5 bh after you chances are its cause you're a major deuche bag and have a huge player bounty on your head


(oh btw pretty much any means of player bounties are now gone thanks to nameless jedis)


without any xp loss, where's that adrenaline pumping action you get when on a mission? or being hunted?


whats the point of even running? you get a free no-loss trip back to the cloner and get to hop on your bike and ride back to what you were


doing worry free


i have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of "hahaz who carez if you killz me!!!"


the only reason for anyone to have to worry about being hunted is full templates having their pride hurt


but they don't have to worry about that now that we can't run group missions

If there was no XP loss, why would anyone bother to try and hold their own mission.

I have a BH myself. You invite 4 more friends/Guildies and name a target.
After 5 minutes every1 has the same Jedi on the Datapad.

Head out, track down...blblablablabla
You know how it works.

Im sorry you hadnt luck organizing it, i know this could be frustrating.

Whatsoever, 5:1 ganking is far beyond any "fairplay" or "repsectful hunting", its simply griefing/ganking with the goal to make sure, the Jedi will die (and loose XP).

This needs to be removed, its causing hard feelings, like we can see - and SoE HAS spent attention to this: Names are removed from thursday on (Pub20).

B4 you reply, make sure you imagine this:
Being a BH takes 30 Mil XP.
You grind weeks/month to only realize i dont like you...and organize ganking-payrtys with you ar a target. You will need to regrind constantly what we take away from you.

You do not feel griefed ?

I THINK so.

They said "all 2 weeks".

So next tuesday is the "we said, we do, no matter how buggy the TC-code still is"-day.

Things will change DRASTICALLY.
I REALLY feel sorry for the BH profession.

WhenEVER there is only a "finetuning" needed, SoE gets out the "SuperSonic Razor-NerfBat" and castrates a whole profession...jeez....YOU DEVS NEED TO LEARN TO DO THINGS WITH "FLAIR"....with perception.

Im sure your wifeys are telling you that too all time, so why should u listen anyway...
