One question, guaarr will have a baby with tiktak, think about a cute fuzzy pig. I think this idea would be good, for the short term anyways...

I like the craftable crystal idea. Except I think craftable crystals should cap around 100 damage -.2 speed -8 fc. this would be good enough that any Jedi could havea really good saber but would still make looting pearls and crystals a goal (when fixed) so we have something to do.

Also, correct me if I am wrong but there is nothing wrong with the pearl/crystal drops or loot tables. What is wrong is the PVE combat level system allowing lvl 300-500 creatues/npc's being able to 1hit kill anything that gets near it. Taking away the ability for melee players to tank. Which is why they were taken out of the game. Yes people can still kill lvl300-500 mobs but only ranged players or master defenders can kill them. Which would be unbalanced and is why it is out of the game.

The devs need to find a solution to pve problems with the level system they added to the game with the cu or loot and high end pve will remain in the state it is in now which is basicly non-existent. This is a huge issue for the game and for all professions. Not just an issue with jedi/pearls.

I believe this might create an inbalance. Older Jedi having an edge by selling off their old -9 120/120's or something close.

thats true...id like to see a system like this:

Once you tune a pearl you cant untune and you have to use
then, when the pearl is down to 5% condition, an option comes up if you want to untune it and restore it to full condition...this would A) eliminate the use for buying/finding more pearls...and also elimate the need for an ADK'd LS

also, there would be a con to restoring to full condition, when you tune it again, you wouldnt get a perfect tune (but you could get very close) and also the pearl loses some of its starting condition

just a thought but id like something like this..

While it sounds like a good idea at first because it could help some jedi out. Any system that lets people like me that have literaly 100's of premium and flawless pearls collecting dust to cap on credits would be bad!

I recieved a PM today from a community member asking me to address his suggestion. His suggestion was this.

"With the current situation of pearl drops as they are, which is very unbalancing for the game, and the devs seems to have problems fixing it, would it not be an idea to suggest to them to remove the "jedi specific requirement" on already tuned pearls and crystals. As we all know older most older jedi have a stock of tuned pearls they dont use because they have slighty better ones in their saber ADK'ed. this will create a new market and allow older jedi to give to new jedi in their guild, or sell them if they wish."

With that said. I am also aware that this has been dicussed in the past. What I told him was maybe a re-tune option instead of just taking away names (BioLink) from current tunes. I know there are some of us older Jedi that have plenty of extras (in some cases bags of 50) but would it be fair to allow us to sell them for Millions of credits?

/Discuss

Edit:

I guess what I am wondering is would people be ok with this if proposed to the Devs? A re-tune option.

It would be better then the system is now. However, I, a pre-cu unlocked jedi finished my template not so long ago don' t have a large bunch of old crystals in my inventory. Also what use is retuning the 80% of my poor quality crystals?

I don' t have a lot of money. Looting the crystals from Krayts gave me my own solution to the -> insane <- crystal prices.

Plus, I' m not a member of a large jedi guild. The only other jedi in my guild has the same crystal problem.

Allowing veteran jedi to pass on or sell their crystals will make sure that I will still keep my crappy saber as I can not buy them and/or recieve them as I am not a member of a large guild.

My suggestion:

- Get rid of the different types of quality a saber can have. make them all premiums. I won' t say it' s the perfect solution, nor is it fair for the onces who had to work very hard to get their bunch of uber pearls. I have to step up here for the guys that are in small guilds and this is the best solutionj to me at the moment.

I don't think being able to loot "premium" qlty crystals and pearls from level 71-90 mobs would be good for the game. we should have to work for something no?

or you could be a good sameritan and actually help out new jedi by selling them at a fair price, or maybe even donating them to friends and guildies.. but yes, I see your point

Actually, I would be happy if I could get a premium pearl as a mission reward for jedi. That would add new content as well as give the new paddys a starting point. Only allow the mission to be completed once and this would give the older jedi a chance to correct a lacking saber or even give everyone a chance to sell/buy/trade/give away the item if they dont need it. Thus helping out ALOT of people ingame. You could get the items from your guild if you have one or do the mission or buy them if need be. Also, there would be some control on them since the mission could only be completed once per jedi. It would be a counter to the uber loots the BH are now getting and selling as well. Not to mention having a good base to build from is always a plus.

the fact will be if this happens even if 10 or so people just gave their extra pearls away 100 others would be selling them for 50mil a pop and people will pay for it. they always do.

Good idea but:

Jedi A tunes crystal. It sucks as usual. Gives it Jedi B.

Jedi B tunes it, it also sucks, gives it back to Jedi A.

Repeat until perfect tune is achieved.

This could result in everyone having perfect sabers very quickly.

Not really since the mission could be completed at anytime. Not on a rotating timer that no one feels the reward is worth in the long run or if they did not do the mission to attain their jedi then they wouldnt have to wait months to get another chance for the mission.

not necessarily...if SOE is smart...they should have a limit to however many times they can tune a single crystal...and if the crystal loses its quality, then itll limit it to 1 tune to get it right
