It's not just those guys who ruined the jedi part of SWG. It's also the jedi whiners who got permadeath removes instead of getting the problems that messed up the permadeath system fixed. Instead of fixing the real problems they removed permadeath, which actually was an awesome system, that just didn't work under present gameplay conditions. Fix the game and rework permadeath and give jedis true power. Stop the lame jedi grind by decreasing the amount of jedi needed, and permadeath will balance thing out naturally. Keeping your jedi alive will become a challenge and not a damn full time job scarred by XP debt. Just keep in mind that I am not suggesting permadeath under the system that is currently on servers, because that would bve insane... but rework combat systems and fix problems and permadeath will be the solution that can keep jedi population in check and give jedis real power instead of just being a flashy melee class.

Wow, I took about 6 months to Master BH if you include marksman etc. Guess I just don't like to grind, I play to have fun.

(I also started back around launch and had a break from the game for a while, but it still took about 6 months total subscribed time).

hey dont knock grinders. Believe it or not grinding is fun to some people. Quickly lvling a player from noob to master can be a rush. Plus theres no content for the in-between stages of most professions so it would be better to question how you can have fun during a leisurely lvling (and im talking about fun related to the profession).

ElizaJedi, do you have a character that is capable of wielding a Lightsaber in the game of Star Wars Galaxies?

The only reason they're implementing this 1 million xp loss upon death (and death upon log-on) is because the BH's whined about how they weren't hurting enough by killing us. Taking a few hours worth of xp wasn't enough. The motivation for this is nothing but spite, spawned from jealousy. I'm a little surprised the Devs stooped to this level though. They usually ignore the feedback. I'm surprised that the feedback they finally listened to was the childish whining of a few spiteful people.

The death penalty is fine. Its the bugs that make it seem like hell. The patch notes indicated that the devs thought they fixed most of the bugs but the obviously didn't, and actually created some new ones.

If everything worked as intended it wouldn't be so hard to stay off the terms, especially if you know what you're doing

No - it's impossible to stay off the terms, even if you play carefully. You get visibility points every time you use a force skill around a person or NPC - doesn't matter who or what. Or even equip a lightsaber around one of these. This is all as planned. I don't know many jedi who can get jedi xp without using a lightsaber. And once you have visibility, you have it for 3 weeks. If I log in today, I can be killed before I even get a buff, because I've played within the past 3 weeks.

I know the rules. Its the bugs that make it hard to stay off the terms. Things aren't working as intended and if you say they are then you haven't looked into the matter or read the stickies at the top of the forum.

the range at which you can gain visibility is 32 meters. If the system wasn't bugged you could just grind away from pc's or npc's and try to pay attention to your area map for spawns and drive-bys.

Yes. But perhaps they should have fixed these particular bugs first, -then- griefed the jedis with the recent stupid changes. And these changes certainly shouldn't have come before the combat balance.

I have to disagree.

Well, not with the spite part. That is true. But I dont think its entirely spawned by Jealousy.

Back when the game was first released, the selling point was "to immerse yourself in the starwars world." Well, this game is pretty far from the starwars world. But by allowing Jedi to become rampant, the devs spit at one of the most cruicial parts of immersion-Jedi would be RARE, Jedi would be in HIDING.

Seeing at least 5 Jedi whenever you go to coronet is not RARE, nor is it HIDING. It is a blatant disregard for immersion altogether. It is false advertising. I dont care what you call it, but the devs lied, and for all the players who got lied to and bought this game to immerse themselves in the starwars world, it was a /slap in the face. THAT is the main reason I think that lots of people went Bounty Hunter.

No, i didnt go BH to grief Jedi. I have NEVER griefed a Jedi. Hell, I let a Jedi get away earlier today because I didnt want to blow up his swoop. But I know a LOT of people who think this way, and personally, i dont blame them. I'm sick of hearing you people think that everybody wants to be like YOU. A lot of people(like myself)have no desire to play a Jedi, whatsoever.
