Player hosted events - team hunts, guild hunts, etc were all much better in the beginning. I remember sitting at the starport, and people yelling wanting to be in a group going to Endor.

I was talking content wise, events, and support for the game.
content???? and support???? dont know what you mean by events but im sure I would say, events????
Support was also better in the beginning. Patches and fixes were daily, and we really felt the devs listening to use...at least somewhat. Now, I don't think the devs listen to anyone.
Content was broken in the beginning, and still broken in many areas now. Content seems to be what SOE is the worst at...unfortunately
i'll give you events, but support was the worst. CSR's didn't respond to tickets sometimes. And if they did respond it would take days or more than a week. And you'd hardly ever get anything constructive and personalized like you do now.
content is no argument. There was none in the beginning. If you think theres not much now its because your character is old. If you started playing now you'd see how much there is to do. There just needs to be more content for older players. Plus in a game like this there can never be enough content.
Eliza said content was better when the game began, Com'on now jeez.
Unfortunately, even now, when someone responds to a ticket it's usually a canned response. The response is no better than saying "we saw your ticket". Most times, tickets today, don't help the general problem as much as it should have.
*shrug*. I have been here since the beginning. You're right there is content...rebel theme park, imperial theme park, event badges (the 3 from before, dang those were fun - they don't do them any more
I must admit, though...the story arc was the best idea for adding living content to the game. I enjoyed it so much, even though one can finish it relatively quickly, it was a full story that went on for months. I remember helping others do the arc as well...it was awesome.
Suddenly, the arcs went poof...after event 3, nothing new

Yeah, sometimes support would happen where a ticket was never answered. I've seen it happen.

Have you tried the search tool in the holocron? its amazing. It answers questionsyou thought you could only get from a csr going the extra mile to give you a good response.Plus the holocron itself is no longer a thin skeleton of information. Its meaty.
also the story arcs were some of the dumbest content in the game. They got a little better by the 3rd one (wasn't there a 4th too? dont remember) but if you remember the first one, all you had to do was find 4 discs that rarely drop of meatlumps.

yes, I used the search tool many times.
There were 3 story arcs. You may call the first one stupid, but it was at least some content, which was faction based. The whole faction got together for a common goal. Maybe the particular mission was stupid, but the end result was at least none-grinding content. I enjoyed it, it's the little bits of content that they can put in often that make the most impact. Can you honestly say the no-content of today is better than dropping those data disks to further advance one's faction?
is that a joke? and don't take what i said out of context, I said theres not a lot of content for veteran players. There is tons for noobs.

Hutt, Nym, Rebel, Imp, warren, 9 corvette, geo caves, and the BH one (can't remember the name). That's 16 total dungeons/missions or so. I may have missed a few, and maybe there are some interesting caves - so lets say 20 things to do.
Last I looked on the FF11 mission list site, individual missions and group missions a alike, very similar to the stuff listed above, ranged in the 50's per city. There are many more things to do there. WoW I hear is even better.
For the newbie, yeah, maybe a few months to do all that stuff, but they end up right where most of us are at now...
But 2 months to finish all the content in game is still a bit too...low. This is supposed to have ongoing content, content being added a lot...things to do, things to have fun doing. This is where the devs failed pretty bad at.

Awwww.. I hit a nerve with one of these jealous players because he 1 starred me. BooHoo Hoo.. another crier in the mists. HAHA go ahead, one star me you moron. I'm still a Jedi and your not.. BOOHOO HOO awww.. poor baby.
Exactly how do the whiners ruin this game?
In my opinion, it was the people who went after the hologrind who ruined the game. It WAS great when it came out, but all the Jedi wannabees began grinding like there was no tommorow. The people who whined about it did NOT ruin the game-they are trying their best to SAVE this game. It was not them who completley and totally destoyed everything that made this game good. It was the people who are now Jedi that destroyed the game in my opinion.
Granted, you did not design the hologrind. But you cant say that the people who protested the old system ruined this game. If anybody did in that respect, it was YOU, for embracing it.
I hope I misunderstood your post. It seems to me like you think that the game was "fine" when the hologrind was going on, and now its messed up because they got rid of it.

I know people who played since the beginning and are still newbies. Time in game doesn't equate to the skill of the player for the most part.

well how long do you think it would take for a fresh noob to finish most of the content starting from launch? a week? maybe more only if you take into account advancement restrictions caused by a fresh server.
and remember that all the bugs that have been fixed is basically improved content. And this whole game was basically a bug when it came out.
dont lose sight of my point which was that Eliza said there was more content when the game came out andhe/she is incredibly wrong.

There is more content now than before, that much is already decided and confirmed, unfortunately there is less content than there should be for a game this old.
well that is obvious
