They usually ignore the feedback. I'm surprised that the feedback they finally listened to was the childish whining of a few spiteful people.

I have to disagree.

Well, not with the spite part. That is true. But I dont think its entirely spawned by Jealousy.

Back when the game was first released, the selling point was "to immerse yourself in the starwars world." Well, this game is pretty far from the starwars world. But by allowing Jedi to become rampant, the devs spit at one of the most cruicial parts of immersion-Jedi would be RARE, Jedi would be in HIDING.

Seeing at least 5 Jedi whenever you go to coronet is not RARE, nor is it HIDING. It is a blatant disregard for immersion altogether. It is false advertising. I dont care what you call it, but the devs lied, and for all the players who got lied to and bought this game to immerse themselves in the starwars world, it was a /slap in the face. THAT is the main reason I think that lots of people went Bounty Hunter.

No, i didnt go BH to grief Jedi. I have NEVER griefed a Jedi. Hell, I let a Jedi get away earlier today because I didnt want to blow up his swoop. But I know a LOT of people who think this way, and personally, i dont blame them. I'm sick of hearing you people think that everybody wants to be like YOU. A lot of people(like myself)have no desire to play a Jedi, whatsoever.

I am sorry but the fact that you don't like seeing Jedi in starports is not good enough reason to diss an entire class of end-game players.

If you have no desire to play Jedi, don't take it out on the rest of us who do.

Then why are you in our profession forum?..........just face reality, of course not "everyone" wants to be one but that's why the majority of people picked up this PoS game. You admitted it yourself, this is not star wars, nor des it feel very immersive, for one thing, they should have had swg and jtl all rolled into one at the START of the game, flying ships and such from planet to planet is an integral part of the starwars experience. This is why people, or at least oNE of the reasons so many wanted to be a jedi, it's one of the few star warsy things to do in the game. No offense to any players here, but I personally find every last profession in the game rather queer, and most are totally un star wars like quite frankly. Jedi get all the penalties on visibility etc while a smuggler can freely shout in cnet they are slicing..or they are selling spices. Tw of the most illegal activities because of the "crackdown" and yet they just get a slap on the wrist. No I'm not trying to call down hell on smugglers, just making a point at how things are so out of whack, it's no wonder people just want to be jedi. While I agree it's rather blanket to think everyone wants to be one, but it's "almost" not far from being a true statement. I for one would never have picked up this game if the chance was not there...and everyone knows it could NOT have stood on it;s own two feet without the lure of this class.

Wow, is that what I said? I dont remember dissing Jedi. I remember dissing the DEVS for handling Jedi like crap and letting everyone and their grandmother get one.

And I used starports asONE example. The point is, the devs promised immersion. Where is it?

*sigh* ok, maybe I got off track. The point I was trying to make was that people dont neccasarily go BH because they are "jealous"-it seems that more go BH because they are angry at the devs for breaking immersion-one of the first things that this game promised; and got lied to and screwed over.

Clear? Dont flame me, this isnt my opinion. I dont really give a damn how many jedi I see in Coronet. Just sick of hearing that I must have some kind of "saber envy" because i'm a bounty hunter.

I won't say anyone has saber envy, but i do wonder about the minds of people who find it enjoyable to destroy days of work someone else has put in, knowing full well there is absolutely no risk to themselves. Hunt me, sure, that's fine, but how come the penalty sword isn't double edged?

Oh, I think you're right. Not every bounty hunter is jealous of jedis. But many are.

And with these new rules on jedi xp, I see any death by a bounty hunter as griefing. Not in the sense that they're violating SOE rules - but that they're doing it only for the sake of causing harm to another player. Not for the sense of fun. It used to be fun to fight BH's, even when I lost. The risk was moderate, but acceptable. I've only run from a BH once, and that was a stalemate. The BH couldn't do enough damage to kill me, and he had stims that were better than the damage I could do. I believe that some BH's used to fight jedi to enhance the fun of the game for both people. Others did it just to hurt people. I think that doing anything just for the sake of hurting someone shouldn't be allowed. With these new rules, the hurt is too much. There's no chance for a BH/jedi encounter to be fun for both people any more. So I see any BH who hunts jedi right now as a meanspirited person. And I'd rather not play with mean people. If the cost of death were reduced, fighting BH's would be fun again. I'd be all for it.

And the last poster brought up a good point - there are many many many inconsistencies between this game and star wars. The devs had to make tradeoffs between keeping the storyline and letting people have fun. The proliferance of jedi was one of those tradeoffs. But some people seem to take out all their hate for the devs on the other players of the game (jedis). I think this is lame. Play to have fun, and let others do the same.

Because there classes didnt advertise having penalties, yours did. jedi have been handled badly in this game, unfortionatly idoits like elizajedi and others on your forums who seem to think anyone that dosnt like jedi only dislikes em for jelousy is what causes alot of your problems.

no one has saber envy of morons like elizajedi. people like that with their foolish superiority complexs are what makes everyone want to nerf jedi out of he game. instead the devs are gonna make it so everyone is jedi intime for eq2, maybe it's a marketing ploy. try to get everyone into a better mmo with promises that they will leave all the jedi here or something.

The point I am making is currently there is no reason for a jedi to stand there while they are fodder for a bounty hunter, we gain nothing and lose everything, getting visibility for fighting back, and still on the terminals if we win. it's lop sided, just saying I dunno what kind of enjoyment you're gonna get when I'm sitting in my house as you stand outside. Or me logging off when I don't feel like taking part in a futile and pointless battle.

I don't plan on logging off. With the system as it currently is, I seriously dislike any BH going after any jedi. It's just too malicious. So I'll do what I can to waste their time as much as possible. Part of this means sitting afk (with no afk tag) inside my house 24/7 instead of logging. And I'll use different houses so I'm not always in the same place. Will not only help other jedi by wasting a BH's time, but will make BH's less likely to hunt me if they don't know whether or not I'm actually active, outside of my house. I used to hate it when jedi did this - I never have yet. But that was when I thought BH's were adding something good and fun to the game. But BH's now are just out to hurt people. So I'll make it as unpleasant as I can for them to hunt jedi until the jedi xp loss is fixed.

I dont do missions to hurt people. I do it for the credits.

I didnt put you on the terminals. You got yourself on the terminals. I wouldnt mind if you lost no xp whatsoever on BH missions. In fact, I wish it was that way.

But I dont consider myself a griefer when i'm doing the missions. Its not my fault your there. I'm just trying toplay my profession, the same way your trying to play yours.

Look at the game the way it is now. It is a utter disaster. All these stupid, moronic ideas that have been put on by the devs are due to the dumb idiots who couldn't become Jedi because of their lazy ass. They lacked the dedication to become jedi yet want to be one. So because they are not one, their stupid ideas have turned this game into the morons game. This game was great when it first came out. Everything was great. Now look at it, it's totally STUPID. And YES! IT'S DUE TO THE JEALOUS PLAYERS! IT'S YOUR fault for destroying this game.

What we should do is send that link about the stupid ass CSR on Jedi visabilty and E-mail it to every major Video Game Magazine, Internet site. So they can Confront the stupid ass Dev's and the CSR to show them how bad the state of the game is in. And then when the Dev's say it's just forum members put in your e-mail that what they will say so don't believe them, try it out for your self for a couple of weeks or a month.
