Please stop...ohhh my head...please stop....

Round and round we go: let's destroy defender...scatter the skills...

Personally, I wish there was no defender...but as long as there is, AI, Aura and Valor should stay where they are. Either that, or get rid of every tree but defender and move all the skills there....sorry, couldn't resist.

ohhh jiminy cricket!! Thats all we need is for someone WITHING the Jedi ranks to cry nerf. If you want aura and valor then go defender and drop enhancer down to 0400 and dry your eyes. People like you will have us regrinding every 2 months

defender is sheer toughness, a defender doesnt need to use the force to modify his toughness. therefor Force Aura and Force Valor need to be nmoved to Enhancer because they 'enhancer' a defensive ability of the jedi. Since enhancer focuses on enhancing offensive and defensive powers it only makes sense to move those two moves into the enhancer tree. Defender doesnt need the extra defense in an enhancement, but it should be put in there as an inate, always active skill. (mabey not the 500 defense from aura but possibly 250 or so like center of being)

Defenders should be given the values of aura and valor as an inate ability, the only move that should cost them force (besides saber specials and heals) is Avoid Incap.

Enhancers should recieve Aura and Valor because it qualifys as their skill, using the force to enhance their mind and body for defense/offense

I was a defender and an enhancer, and i see no problem or nerf with this suggestion.

If there is a 5 line system it should be something like this...

Noviceboxes skillpoint cost removed

Masterboxes content removed. Powers from Masterboxes moved to the FRS or unlocked depending on what skills are selected.

All powers based on the skillmods Alter, Control and Sense that is gained throughout the boxes.

Alter, Control, Sense and Combat Training are the 4 things a Jedi can master. While you do not master all four, you are likely to have at least some of each.

Any power that effect yourself is Control, including heals etc.

Any power that effect others is alter, including heals.

Sense do not exist in SWG right now (but it should)

Lightsaber: Static Attacks (no forcepowers)

Defender: Static Defenses & Armor (no forcepowers)

Enhancer: Effect Self (Self-Buffs allkinds) (control)

Healer: Effect World Positively or Restore self (Heals, Restoration, Buff Group)(control/alter)

Powers: Effect World Negatively (Harm/Cripple) (alter)

Lines that Heal or Buff others are light side only

Lines that Heal or Buff self are neutral

Lines that Harm other are dark side only

Lines that cripple but do not hurt other are neutral

Saber Throw: Effect World (Powers or Healer)

Force Aura: Effect Self (Enhancer)

Force Valor: Effect Self (Enhancer)

Avoid Incap: Effect Self (Enhancer)

Mind Dominate: Effect Other Negatively (Powers)

Drain Force: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Force Wave: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Force Suppression: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Stasis: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Force Suppression: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Force Sap: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

ForceShock: Effect World Negatively (Powers)

Cloak: Effect World (Powers or Healer)
Transfer Force: Effect World Positively (Healer)

Channel Force: Restore Self (Healer)

Regain Conciousness: Restore Self (Healer)

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

How about we move aura and valor to defender and give the defenders some sort ofcenter of being (except it doesnt cost any force.) Both of them would get the same benefit except the defender get natural defenses and no force cost. I'd love for enhancer to get some kind of defense except FA because to be honest, i riflemen can kill you even with it on.

Gecko thats a great idea actually. Enhancer and defender are two defensive classes. One focuses on casting and crowd control while the other on innate tanking ability. Aura and valor should be moved to enhancer but out of reach of any dabbler template or perhaps even make it not stack with innate. I think that would be a good solution. Defender could get 250 and enhancer 500 since defender has all the melee/ranged defense that enhancers lack.

Where is it said that defender jedi don't know how to use the force. I thought defenders were jedi that mastered using the force for their own protection. Thus giving them force powers dedicated to defending like force armour force aura force valor and AI.

Defender is not 'sheer toughness', it's using the Force for defense. You could just as easily say, "Move head hit II to Enhancer, it's using the Force to enhance the damage done with your lightsaber," or "Move Advanced Heal to Enhancer, it's using the Force to enhance your body's normal healing process," a mindset which the West End/d20 system fosters, not to mention many of the other skills people listed above.

It's the Magneto trap... In the old X-Men comics, they basicly allowed Magneto to do anything because of his control of magnetism. Fly? Just use the Earth's magnetic field... Moleccular transformation? Just use magnetic effects on subatomic particles... They made it a catch-all and used the ambiguity of subatomic physics to allow him anything. Using the ambiguity of the term 'Enhancer' to make Enhancer a catch-all tree that does everything for 89 points wouldn't be a good idea.
