Good for you...shopping for clothes. Let us make the game like real life.

I see the point of your post. But that is a very poor excuse for SOE mistake(s). "Everyone is doing it because we are forcing them to do it so let us do it to them again!" They already said it was a mistake to have holo grinding in the game and yet they do it again and it is our fault? lol fanyboy at his best

The 10-30 year old age group is just gime gimme gimme? hey Fork you I was pissed when I read that. What an absolutley massive generalisation!

in my humble opinion make jedi harder to obtain and in crease the penalties for jedi death but correspondingly make them a force to be reckoned with. What happened to the quote made by the devs about this time last year when they stated that a jedi would be able to defend against 8-10 attackers (Lets talk Ranked players here)

Countless times i have seen jedi get destroyed by a bounty hunter and a couple orf rifles or a couple Def stacked tka....

The humble opinion of a padawan

Ppl dont seem to get it, this game has NO content. The themeparks are a case of run to npc, run 2k, kill/converse, run back. That is not content. People dont even read what the npc says because they already know what is expected. Yes i holo grinded, yes I am grinding at the village, but being a jedi is the only thing i haven't done in the game. And to be honest, i would rather grind 32 different proffs than be stuck with the equivalent of grind one combat proff about 30 times, at least then you get variety, and have the chance to check out proffs you wouldnt normally have considered. You might even end up liking some you never thought you would!

Bingo

The core weakness of the game, in my opnion, is not the bugs, is not the grinding and is not the even the weakness of Jedi. It's the sheer lack of content. This is the only MMORPG game I have played - so, is there an online game with real and involving content?

LOL yeah we get what you are saying. We get that you are saying that SOE said it would be quest driven and it is not. It should be eh? Yeah I am sure games like Final Fantasy that have story driven rpg elements are not successful and all.

You are saying that SOE basically does not have content in the game. THANKS for showing our points! We would be happy if we got what was promised to us. I do not to do quests like just what the above poster said. Because to be honest he is right I rarely ever read the txt. Do jabba's palace and you will know what all the missions are like with one npc. I want real quest content like the developer's promised. Hell if that means hiring an intelligent thoughtful writer then SO BE IT. It cannot be this difficult. We would be much happier with a quest driven system that took a while to complete then grinding xp on a creature over and over again and having to wait 4 and a half months to even finish the system to hit padawan. And what exactly is the developer's explanation for having to do the village 1 and a half times?

To me it would seem that if you go thru the village once you have become experience in the force. But hey you already said that SOE does not have quests and missions. You have already stated we should just grind or move on. That is right. We should be just like you and accept the trash that SOE throws out at us while taking 2 months to develop it when something else was promised.

HEY! Let me quit my job and/or stop taking college classes and sit at my computer everyday for 10 hrs and grind! Man that sounds like fun. But hey I would be like you!

I have a simple solution for content.....Make all PVP non-consenting then we'd have some content

In my opinion, the only reason for the change is that too many people were close to unlocking, and adding the quests slows you down. Instead of grinding 32 proffs, after each one having a chance of unlocking, you are forced to grind more than that. It would be like saying "yeah, we'll put back the hologrind, but you have to grind all the proffs, then do a couple more for good measure" Its just a way to slow people. Quests? BAH! how the hell can you call that good content. Like the poster above said, the missions are boring. They take no thought, you could probably train a monkey to do them. And then grind for AGES after? sounds fun.

Just pointing out the fact you dont pay someone to work.

Grinding xp by mindlessly killing 40000 creatures is not fun unless your a sadist.

The whole game has devolved into Grindfest mania.

When an online game lacks balance or monthly content in the form of a story line, you end up with this pile of crap.

I think we were able to “tell” better stories, when we had player interdependency, and multiple, variable classes.

Why don't people understand, that force sensitive is not meant to be easy? You want to be a force sensitive crafter? good for you, get the xp thats required.

but it IS easy! its just long and tedious - thats not the same as difficult! all i have to do is get a buff and kill quenkers 3 or 4 times a week and the skill is done, im ready for the next phase. BORING!!!!!

is this the devs idea of a 'quest based' system? a half hour quest at the start of the phase then 2 or 3 weeks of monotonous grinding? wonder how long it took em to think this up!

So your saying because the path to jedi sucks we shouldnt do it? The themeparks suck, should we avoid them? How about we just avoid the game? I'll tell you why, WE LOVE STARWARS AND WE LOVE JEDI.

For all my fans...good morning Star Grinds!

Then don't grind? If your goal is Jedi, then you have fun in combat, right? Then why you don't stop thinking "I have to get Jedi ASAP!" and combine fun with the grind? Do caves and POI's, join a REAL hunt group, corvette etc. At least that's what i am going to do.

I will grind once in a while in a solo group on Dantooine, but i am going to do it when i am in the mood for it. I am paying to have fun in the game and that's what i am going to have. I feel sorry for those who only have Jedi as a goal.

Avanami guess what? Done all of those things many times in the last year if you added up all the combat xp I would have if there wasnt an cap it would equal a jedi knight. How about adding more content and balancing the professions?

Most of our society wants something free. In this particular case its jedi. I saw a kid that was only playing for two months calling himself a veteran and demanding he be a jedi now. The 10-30 year old generation is gimme gimme gimme.

Yeah we had those on our server. People that only needed to master 4+1 and unlocked with 6 professions. Funny thing was many in the early bunch were correspondants. gasp!

My guess is you enjoy this game and would like to be a Jedi, but you do not want to do what is required to get a Jedi, am I right? I bet I am. You want content, watch a movie while you "grind" becuase thats as close to content as you will get

Wow you really have low expectations for yourself. I see a trailer park , empty beer cans and guy named marge in your future. Grinding is the closest to content as you can get in a MMOG? lol fun bro

Dont worry I wont. hehe

Ignorance is bliss. If the name of the game was Star Warriors with Yetis , would you play it?

The fanboys are seriously missing the point. Yes, play the game fine. Been there done that. Join a guild...in one. Visit all the poi...done that. Do the themeparks...done that. But to even get one box in the fs trees you HAVE to grind. And if you bring your guild along they just steal your xp so it takes longer.

The point is we were all led to believe this system would be quest based. I had my hopes up and again they were crushed. This system is no different AT ALL then holo grinding. Now it is hologrinding with a time limit secretly hidden in the form of village quests. Heck I do not even have as much of a problem with the grinding as I do with the fact that since I CHOSE not to mindlessly grind professions in order to get a jedi in in the old system, Inow have to wait 3 weeks between each phase in order to unlock a padawan. That means I have to wait 6 cycles! That = 4 and a half months. What exactly is the point of having to do the village more then once? And then to add insult to injury we have to grind millions of regular character experience to convert to jedi experience to get 24 useless boxes? And THAT just gets you to jedi padawan. You then have to grind more millions of jedi exp just to become decent. And that is content? This is the new jedi experience? Add that to the fact that jedi have already been stated to become weaker with more of them around and the fact that combat will be nerfed and you see the point?

This took them 2 publishes to do? Ths had them delay the 2nd publish and the 1st one week each? I question the talent at SOE if it takes them a full publish to add holo grinding in a different degree. And have you seen the first quest for the combat fs tree. Go to waypoint 10 times and patroll it LOL. Wow that took a lot of thinking. Do that 10 times for the unlock and do it 10 more times further out for the flag. What a load of CRAP. My whole guild was falling asleep during it...especially for the flag.

All of you guys making the point that this is hard. News-flash it is not hard. It is not hard killing 25k rancors a day. It just takes a long time. It means you have all day to sit in front of a computer and mindless and boringly kill creature after creature after creature. And to insult you even more if you do not kill creature after creature after creature for weeks on end it will take you at least6 months to even get to padawan. That is fun? That is content? It is an excuse for content. It is mad grinding. Some of us have jobs and a life.

This new quest system where you have to wait 4 and a half months because we CHOSE to PLAY the game, which btw was your excuse for us not to grind, is a load of crap. People in my guild like me who started atlaunch of this game feel insulted and cheated by this system. Sure some of us may not have played every single day since start cause lets face it the game sucked when it first came out. But the fact is if we chose not to grind professions. Our reward became pay SOE over $60 while you grind everyday just to become a weak padawan and then grind more millions of jedi exp. They will not even allow you to do all the quests and then grind exp. No, we have to wait. And please do not preach to me the excuse that they want you to play the game during that time frame. If you want to make sure you have that full branch before the next phase you almost have to grind. It is a timesink plain and simple. And most of us have done almost EVERYTHING in this game and were looking forward to playing a jedi. We did not want to wait 4 and a half months to even be able to pick up a damn lightsaber.

Hey as a star wars fan, I just want to actually see what it is like to wield and have fun with a lightsaber. Some of us have lives where we cannot grind everday. And some of us do not want to wait 4 and a half months to do so. It is a sly way of SOE to MAKE us pay them while we wait for a jedi. Have we not waited long enough?

JTL BETTER add content and fun to this game or you will see a mass exodus out of this game come this fall/winter. Hell I even supported jedi being harder to get then usual and as a BH I had SOME fun. But like a lot of people as a 2nd character I would still want a chance to at least try out a jedi. I do not want to wait forever to do so. And ya knowwe do not even have a choice in making our 2nd character a jedi. Maybe some of us are attached to our name. Maybe we wanted to keep that guy a bh or a combat medic or a TKA. But we do not have that choice as it takes 25 times the length to regrind that on our 2nd character slot then to regrind force sensitivity on that 2nd character and make that person a jedi. Another slap in our face by SOE.

Oh and we will have fun when they add something fun to do. It does not take long to get to the content in this game. There is so little of it.

Give this one day and I will see the usual responses that a person ahead of me has already posted above by the fanboys. $100 I will see responses about then don't do it. It is supposed to be hard. Quit if you are not having fun etc etc etc. I am sure every company that is sucessful takes that response. Just have them quit! Quit = less money = no jobs at the company BTW. Please come up with a good response then your usual responses. And if you are a current jedi then do not even bother. I know half of you are just happy to keep everyone else from being a jedi and is the fuel for you arguing against the rest of us being pissed about this new system.

With the holo-profession it was TOTALLY a meaningless grind.

At least this new system has SOME content that is relevant to FS and Jedi.

I like the idea that a combination of galaxy-wide experience with locations, professions, POIs and theme parks leads you to becoming FS. THAT is a good idea.

I like the idea that there are a series of quests to unlock the FS skills and that you can use the FS skills to augment your chosen profession without actually taking a Jedi path immediately.

Where the system breaks down for me is that, like many in this thread, I don't find grinding through millions of exp either 'difficult' or fun. There is NOTHING difficult or challenging about killing the same old crap over and over for extended periods of time. Personally I like my challenges other than just withstanding the drudgery.

What would satisfy me is if;

1. The cycle time of the village was reduced to...say,two weeks instead of three.

2. The exp grind was altered such that the new quests replaced a good portion of the exp for each box. Sort of like what was required to get glowy...each additional quest you did gave you credit for exp used to train FS skills. That way you could choose between mindlessly grinding (for that is exactly what it is...a MINDLESS grind) or actually exploring the galaxy more.

All in all this was a step in the right direction...they just have a little more work to do to make it REALLY immersive and entertaining. Grinding is just NOT entertaining for me and I can't imagine why it is for anyone.
