Guys i think you all read what he said wrong. He stated that he has NOTHING aganst these people. Hes not blaming it on the players. Hes usuing this to counter the "Too many jedi ruin my gameplay" whine.

its people like this. Now, let me say, I dont have anything against him in general(which is why I didnt show a name), but its that kind of person that ruins anything SW about this game for me. If it isnt obvious to you why, let me explain: Since he is a rebel(see necklace) this is a light Jedi, yet he's using a LS crystal named after a Sith lord which has a red tone. He's wearing a bandolier w/ weapon ammunition on it. A belt w/ grenades on it. Two robotic arms. No shirt. "Shorts". Casual shoes. Sunglasses. A "snow" hat.
Now, there is nothing wrong with any of those things in themselves, but when their all on a Jedi its ridiculous. There is nothing SW(relating to the movies or books) about that character. He looks about as far from a Jedi as you can look, and from what I've observed acts the same way. Its obvious that all this person is concerned about is being "l33t". Now, I'm not saying I think all Jedi should go around in their stock robes, as I dont w/ my Jedi. But at least I still a look and act like one.
Its the kind of Jedi that constantly duels in the MO w/ their robotic limbs and completely un-SW dresschallenging noobs to duels and all around acting like a spoiled childthat ruins the feeling of SW in this game, not the number of Jedi. I dont expect this to be incredibly well recieved here, as at least half of the Jedi in this game are just like the one I've discussed, but that doesnt really bother me. I've said my piece. To those that are not like this, and try to actualy be a Jedi like myself, I salute you. We are a rare breed.

yeah i wouldnt give it too much thought. In real life we all deal with people that we cant stand. Online gaming will be no different. We will find people there too that we dont like. I dont care at all for the type of players that are like what you discribed. I have a close circle of friends that i enjoy gaiming with in SWG and the ones i dont like i stay away from. Dont let them affect you because its those type of players that give us something to complain about and judge our selves against making us gratefull that we are not them....lol. It keeps things interesting any way. If only now jedi wasnt solely about pvp then we wouldnt have to even give to toughts about those types of people that are in it just to be the uberest, annoying, bully around.

Too often players and the devs have a mindset that professions should be balanced with 1 on 1 pvp in mind. This mindset is ruining the game. The benchmark for balance should be determined by the role a profession plays in a group setting. As long as the current mindset continues we will never see uniqueness among the professions, nor will we ever see individuality within a given profession. We will never see the SWG universe expanded as the focus will only ever be balance pass after balance pass after balance pass.

All it takes is for one or two Jedi show offs in Theed to ruin the SW feel. I agree that the clothing is a bit rediculous as is the robotic arm. But is worse than all that is the l33t speaking punk kids behind the toon. But sadely there is little you can do about them except put them on ignore.

hmmm could it also be said that this type of behavior is what let to Jedi reduction of power?

I wonder what the professions would be like currently if there was never starport ganking or the cameo jedi appearances in the GCW or starport dueling and jedi stayed hidden in the shadows?

let's do the spidey thing.

"With great power comes great responsiblity"

Seems to me we were not responsible with our power and it was taken away.

i would say you are probably right thats why jedi are in the state that we are in right now.

You kidding? That guy's positively tame compared to some of the Jedi I've seen. Case in point:

Its not "expressing individuality" that bothers me. Its wearing/getting/doing whatever it takes just to be "l33t" so you can "pwn" people.

So........... would it be different if he were a rifleman, or TK? What do you really hate; the player, style, profession or is jealosy over their profession really eating you?

Truth is, these are the same players you hated as other classes; it's just that they have advanced to Jedi.

I hate people who are wishy-washy about what they hate.

I'm certainly not jealous over "their" proff(that being Jedi) because I'm a Jedi myself on 1 of my characters. But you have a point, its really a "type" of player that ruins the SW feel of the game. They can be any proffession, but once they become a Jedi its more obvious and blatent.

honestly you dont look very jedi like yourself, the clothes look pretty expensive and way to "flashy" for a jedi. My jedi is a light jedi, wears the alliance medal of honor, uses the bane's heart crystal (atleast untill i can get my kenobi's legancy), and dresses all in black with black face tatoo's, who are you to say what a jedi would wear?
