Thread: Hologrind...
Word. I don't get too many silly questions from people who hologrinded. If that system had at least one saving grace, and I;m not saying it's limited to one, it's that it produced a more knowledgable player on average. At the very least, a more understanding player.

Have to agree with you. Ultimately it was an easy out for SoE to cover up for the developers lack of content and vision.

The Hologrind was wonderful for producing knowledgable and experienced jedi. They should have just added the village to it...sans grind.
Why? Because you had to do it? Outside of myself most of the hologrind Jedi are elitist whine babies that have visions of grandeur about some imagined golden past. Really the hologrind murdered the game and the only left-overs from it are people like you who want all the new players to suffer like you did. The village is here and it's real, deal with it and read my sig!

QFE!
As a HELPER, in the days I used to get several /tells per day from players looking for help and/or advice, the experience I gained with all of those professions was avaluable resource.
You know, in that respect the Good Old Dev' Teams idea for Jedi really did work (for some).
Good point Jacella!
Well, honestly Aritsan professions, you could only learn how and what to craft, not alot of knowledge, i was refering to combat. And dont get me wrong some crafting experience wouldnt hurt ,lets you get to know wher crafters are coming from with prices ect. Now if you got all crafting holos, not sure if thats possible, yes that would have been really boring. But combat profs were fun. Considering its a new thing. And you wouldnt have to grind the same exp over and over, by your self and alone. There should ahve been a better wat to get jedi then, a guy give you a mission you complete it and then he decides to unlock, not teach only unlock an aspect of the force. Which the only good ones to jedi are GMS GMA, MD, RD, and GRA for the powers users.
Im sure the was a better way to do this, ther has to be i bet alot of players could have sat down with a dev and thought of some great ideas. No, what happened was leader Dev said coem up with the longest way possible for a player to get jedi. And this idea came up. 3 weeks, 1 time every 3 weeks. Almost 1 month, have to get 6 unlocks. 18 weeks it adds to. Not to mention findin a suitable FS temp level 80. Then grdining day in and day out. they could have made it 5 weeks and people would have still done it, but they didnt want to screw us too bad. just sorta bad. Now really all i am saying is, ther had to be another way. Anyone agree?

yes, but you understand the resource requirements of each crafting profession, all that it takes to craft well, how to experiment most effectively, etc. If you didn't learn these things, than the whole process was wasted on you. You have to admit that doing crafting professions has helped you understand how to make a lightsabe better. I am tired of people asking me, step by step, how to craft a lightsaber!
Here is how it worked:

My friend had to do WS and we used to /sing 99000 blaster handlers (or something like that) on the wall, 99000 blasters handlers! Take one down and pass it around, 89999 blaster handlers on the wall!

WS ws a pain...but I ended up making some good weapons ...or did you just master it then drop it?

I didn't feel that it was suffering, I feel that I have a more throuogh understanding of the game because of it. This might explain why you disagree with me on most things. You never did 20 professions to understand the nuances of how all the professions interract.
Okay Jacella, apparently it is more beneficial to you to imagine that I didn't hologrind multiple professions and that I am some village product who likes to argue. The fact is I did the hologrind, and I made those ubese shirts and I did the area pike attacks on Endor Ewoks and I even did the quickie Image Design thing to unlock. The only yhing I got from it was alot of DvD watching and a tired finger from double clicking the crafting tool. Alot of my i/g friends quit because of it, guilds broke apart because of the zombies in the cantina with their group/poison/mind heal macros going to master musician. DO NOT PRETEND IT WAS GOOD TIMES, it made alot of people hate this game and as stated before, the ones who stayed are usually elitist jerks pretending to have undergone some great awakening /rollseyes.
Do you know what I do when I spot someone being an elitist jerk in game? I do a quick /examine to check for the long mastery scars of your beloved hologrind.
