pvp isnt the issue, its surviving pvp. a pre 9 jedi wont have a problem because of their sabers. a post cu jedi has terrible sabers in general. Ghe biggest problem is that pre pub 9 jedi generally dont care about post cu jedi because their ability to dominate is much greater pvp against younger jedi. This in itself is the main reason pre cu jedi are mainly against giving post cu jedi any boosts to their templates. then you have people like me, pub 10 jedi that couldnt get pearls in a consistant manner becuase of having to grind all the time. It comes down to either a pre cu jedi with the attitude of wanting to support post cu jedi, or a pre cu jedi who just want to dominate all in the game. thats why the word "interm" is used when they talk about pre cu pearls. wait till they get removed from the game, then the pre cu jedi who kept saying dont change anything will sing a different song. or quit all together.

Well I unlocked the day before the cu so I'm a post cu jedi, my saber is 600 max dmg with 17 fc. What we have to remember that without the frs it is really hard to know exactlly how powerful the Jedi proffesion is. All we know atm is a full template Padawan isn't head and shoulders above a non Jedi template.

Iskareot is a pre publish 9 jedi fyi. I agree with what he wrote 100%. We all knew from day one of the grind that Jedi was a pvp proffesion, even though Jedi may not ne as powerful as it once was, why does this mean a pve option should be allowed for Jedi?

First of all, Iskareot by his own admission unlocked 6/04/04. Clicky Patch 9 came in on 6/29/04. If he made 4444 Guardian and became an expert on Pre-pub 9 in less than 4 weeks, I'd say the arguments about it being so much now easier are way off.

Second of all, if Jedi is a PvP profession, why is advancement through the Jedi skill boxes completely PvE? The GCW used to be completely PvP as well, enough people wanted to take part in the GCW theme of the Star Wars Universe without dealing with the childishness that permeates alot of the PvP crowd. If enough people wat to take part in the Jedi theme of the Star Wars Universe without dealing with the rude, abusive exploiting people that take part in PvP, there's a good chance that this could change too.

With the GCW,a system was put in place to allow a choice, which is what people are asking for. If you personally like to PvP, you can still do all you want. But you want to force your playstyle on others.

You claim that PvE Jedi would lead to more nerfs, I disagree. Most of the nerf calls on Jedi have come because of the GCW forum complaining that Jedi are ruining the GCW, the bounty hunters complain thatthey cna't kill their marks, and the PvP Jedi complaining that they can't kill a certain other Jedi template in PvP as it relates to the FRS system.

If PvE resulted in nerf calls, sowrdsmen and riflemen would not have dominated the loot gathering environement from release to the CU, and smuggler/pistoleer would have been nerfed a couple months ago.

I have a pre-publish 9 jedi. What did I think of when I was grinding out the 30 professions? I was thinking how much fun it would be to ROLEPLAY being a dark jedi. I never "threw nades into the air" to obtain it.

The jedi profession has changed (been nerfed) so many times those of us who started in the beginning are playing an entirely different profession than what we started. How would anyone like it if you went from using a flame thrower one day and then wind up dancing in a cantina the next day cause all of commando's abilities were made to work only in cantina's?

You can not drop force sensitive boxes once you have obtained them.

I personally think people mock Jedi for numerous reasons: being envious andjealous that they could not do what we have done, being "ganked" by mobs of player jedi in pvp (the number 1 reason why Jedi are and have been nerfed to heck), and lastly because the majority of our profession do not "ACT" like jedi or dark jedi.

Personally I found your whine about the whiners to be offensive and completely without any constructiveness what so ever. Maybe you are the one burned out playing the jedi. I unlocked my Jedi May 4th 2004 and I love playing him. Mind you I play the hermit jedi, most people on my server have no idea who I am, cause he is never in public unless he has to be, that and I have never to this day worn those robes or tags in public.

Problem with jedi - there aren't any strict rules or requirements to be one nor is there any system in place to monitor the profession.

My fears are that a player would unlock and switch straight away to pve mode to avoid xp loss from bh (who wouldn't?) and the only hardship to becoming full template would only be the village time sink. My opnion isn't something I'm trying to force on anyone. I just really can't see how splitting jedi into pvp and pve could possibly work.

Jedi is about risk versus reward.

Rewards have been taken away from us by the bucket load since the CU.

The risks have remainded unchanged with the exception of only 1 thing - cloning XP loss.

The rewards are no longer proportionate to the risks.

End.

Agree with the original post 100%

See.. I'm a casual gamer. Have been from LauchDay+2. I play a few hours a night, a few nights a week. *I* am EXACTLY the type of player directly effected by the DEVs designed measures for Jedi population control. While most skoff at a 400k XP loss, and claim it's only a few hours worth of work to regain, to me.. it's an entire night. I play my Jedi casually, only bringing him online once every 3 days or so (just to mess with those BHs that might be trying to hold onto my mission, should I be on the terms) for a quick grind of 200-300k. So.. to lose XP is DEVISTATING to my progression... exactly why you will NEVER see me running around in my robe, dueling in the open, or any of the other things that have made us the most dispised profession in the game. *I* fit the DEVs design PERFECTLY. Where do you fall in their design?

I am in the same boat as you.Casual gamer and xp loss was something I avoided at all costs.Heres the kicker....I knew the what would happen if i ws killed by ANYTHING accepted that when I chose Jedi and still accept it every day when i click on "I agree".I figure if myself and people like me managed to get through a much more penal system than is currently in place and still make the goal of reaching full temp, then the PvE nerf babies( and thats what you'll get if you get your way, nerfs) can handle it in this watered down system.

And just for the record the whining about the MBH/MCM is really getting old. There are many things you can do to protect yourself from them and all enemies.Start taking responsability for yourself. For all of the roleplayers out there who say Jedi use the Force for defense you are correct. So build a template that lets you do this and put the odds in your favor.

I agree with the thread poster completely, if you want to be PVe there are MUCH better professions to do it with other than jedi anyway, hell if you wanna pvp there are better professions than jedi, Jedi is no longer an uber unbeatable profession, I see them loose 1v1 to "normal" professions all the time so save yourself a bunch of work and make a good swordsman or a ranged temp with some good snares/roots and pve till your heart's content.

Jedi who play without responsibility and love a good fight to show their might is rewarded and get all they want.

And then they blame all the nerfs on the pve people who done nothing but whacking digitalised monsters on some far off planet.

Maybe u should ask what were the devs thinking in rushing jedi in the game, stop blaming the player base for the devs shortcomings.

I am at a loss, you guys asking for PvE only Jedi, No BH Jedi, No visibility Jedi?...

I have to ask you guys what the Hell were you thinking when you decided to go grind Jedi and throw them nades in the air?

You guys could not have been that blind not to know the RISK and what it was to be a Jedi!

I have been a Jedi long enough to know issues coming and with all of this crap talk it is nothing more then ANOTHER CRY for a nerf on ourselves? Have you guys not figured this out yet? Do you need some help understanding this?

Some of us Jedi are pretty sick and tired of all the cries... this is the class, this was the way it was made and this is part of our role in the game.

If you do not like it then Im sorry you made the mistake of choosing Jedi as your class that day.. if you do not like it so much and cannot handle it please feel free to delete those boxes and drop the Force sensitive boxes too.

Nobody has forced you to be a Jedi, in fact you worked somewhat for it... it was your choice and you knew what it entitled... so crying now is like buying a Porshe and in 5 years making it a Volvo with alot of airbags.. please think about what your choices were...before we get anymore weaker then our state now.

People ask what happend to Jedi... well here is about 50% of the answer.

(I want to add one thing, if you didnt think we were a joke on other boards and fourms your so wrong with all this PvE talk and visibility talk we are more so then ever)..

Educate me lol... yeah I was thinking the same thing since beta on Bria .. I need this now... it's not been long enough...lol

Fyi, Yes I am a pre 9 Jedi as well before you , no issue but wanted to make this clear to your comment ...lol.

If you do not like my post about the whiners then I'm sorry and respect that, see that is the difference HOWEVER I won't post a cry or ask for a Nerf on your class either... You stated you play the Hermit Jedi -- (Isn't it great that you have the choice to do so.. stay off the terms don't pvp -- killer choice and I did it for 8 months on Endor to do my grind... so mind you I know what that is like, some on dath of course pre - 9 time.

CHOICE it is the key phrase here, now then being that I am on Bria that probably has twice the population that your server does would add more people and less space to run free in so I can understand it's easier to be a Hermit on a low popualtion server that functions at a slower as well.... less BH's Id think and maybe less worry of things. But you still knew what you were getting into when you chose Jedi and no matter at what time... you at least had that clue.

Yes I know we have been through alot and we are different, even in the betas and all the changes per patch we have changed but the one core thing that has not is that Jedi is a Hunted class and it's based on PvP... changing that now would be more or less making us a starting profession with less power then we have now. If you want that then great.. maybe your more of the problem then the solution, time will tell I guess.

Please note the nerf calls were the direct result of pvp players unable to restrain themselves and who did not want to think about the consequences of their own actions. For a significant amount of time it was nearly impossible to participate in factional pvp or even pve without encountering gank squads of jedi looking for frs. And they would attack the regular players for an easy fight, not the opposite faction jedi that were there doing the same thing. PAs would plan events, only to have squads of jedi of both factions show up and kill just about everyone. You have only yourselves to blame, so quit trying to place that blame on players that don't want to pvp. The game will change to suit the majority, and you are not the majority.
