The issue is that everyone signs up for PVP when they CHOOSE to become a jedi. It's like signing an EULA then moaning that you can't copy the game for your mates.

iska, its like this. i unlocked jedi the last day of pub 9, first day of pub 10 i was grinding. all that i saw were powerful jedi and i wanted to be one and was willing to put the work into it. As i was just finishing up my long jedi grind, poof, the c.u. came into effect and all the things i was grinding so hard for were gone. taken away from me after i had worked so hard to get them. really unfair that soe changed the complete system and nerfed it to a common proffesion. Its the betrayal of what we were promised and what we actually got is the deepest cut. If you are a post cu jedi then I dont expect you to understand what we were promised to be and what soe just changed their mind for us to be. So now its as if i spent 16 months for what can be done with other proffesions in 4 or 5 days is nothing but a slap in my face with no remorse from soe at all for killing this game and jedi.
actually think of the time alot of us put into it. you asking what we thought is about the dumbest question i have seen on this forum. what we thought 17 months ago was much different than what is actually happening post cu.

Iskareot is a pre publish 9 jedi fyi. I agree with what he wrote 100%. We all knew from day one of the grind that Jedi was a pvp proffesion, even though Jedi may not ne as powerful as it once was, why does this mean a pve option should be allowed for Jedi?

Because there looks as if there is a large portion of jedi who do not PvP that want it...

I can see that but I'm saying everyone knew when they made the decision to go for Jedi that pvp was involved. To put whats being said into another context it would be like a post in the weaponsmith forum saying "We want to be able to build armour" and just because alot of people like the idea it gets implemented. If you want to not pvp don't be a jedi.

I think the main issue that has caused all this whining and crying is this:

  • All the people who did not have Jedi pre-publish 9 looked at Jedi and thought that it would be the end-all to the game. That their Jedi would be all powerful and able to solo the entire galaxy and squash any BH that came their way.

The reality then hit after they got their Jedi and they figured out that they would actually have to learn their template, work hard to find good pearls/crystals and be on the ball when BHs came around in order to make sure they gave themselves a good chance of winning.

And before you slam me and call me a pre-pub 9 Jedi, I am NOT. I unlocked my Jedi right before the CU and never grinded with my Jedi until about a week or two after the CU happened (waited for all the bugs to get worked out). I did have my eye on the prize so to speak though by gathering around 40 crystals and 10 pearls before I became Jedi to tune. My saber is respectable (has crystals/pearls all are between 91-96 Dmg and all at -6 FC - Saber has a 456 Modified DPS) and I have not lost to a BH since I reach full template. I feel like I am as powerful as I need to be right now... any more powerful and I think I might find the game boring. WIth it's current state I have to stay on my toes.

I also PvE quite a bit now and am able to hold my own and do some damage here and there. Just a matter of learning your playstyle and what you are good at with your Jedi in my opinion.

It also states that gameplay may change overtime....you can throw the EULA out all you want...but if enough paying customers are asking for changes and if it can lead to a more stable and growing player base/accounts you can bet Sony will make that change...

as to your McDonald's/BK analogy...Idiots maybe...but if half of McDonalds queue is filled up with orders for a BK product then obviously McDonalds's product is not marketing very well...

I am at a loss, you guys asking for PvE only Jedi, No BH Jedi, No visibility Jedi?...

I have to ask you guys what the Hell were you thinking when you decided to go grind Jedi and throw them nades in the air?

You guys could not have been that blind not to know the RISK and what it was to be a Jedi!

I have been a Jedi long enough to know issues coming and with all of this crap talk it is nothing more then ANOTHER CRY for a nerf on ourselves? Have you guys not figured this out yet? Do you need some help understanding this?

Some of us Jedi are pretty sick and tired of all the cries... this is the class, this was the way it was made and this is part of our role in the game.

If you do not like it then Im sorry you made the mistake of choosing Jedi as your class that day.. if you do not like it so much and cannot handle it please feel free to delete those boxes and drop the Force sensitive boxes too.

Nobody has forced you to be a Jedi, in fact you worked somewhat for it... it was your choice and you knew what it entitled... so crying now is like buying a Porshe and in 5 years making it a Volvo with alot of airbags.. please think about what your choices were...before we get anymore weaker then our state now.

People ask what happend to Jedi... well here is about 50% of the answer.

(I want to add one thing, if you didnt think we were a joke on other boards and fourms your so wrong with all this PvE talk and visibility talk we are more so then ever)..

The answer to your question is simple:
These are not the Jedi you are looking for......

Players didnot introduce Jedi as a player class. Players did not provide either the incentive or direction as to how to open a force sensitive class. Players did not make Jedi prolific. The DEVELOPERS did. So, if you have some complaint with the fact that Jedi now lends itself more toward other then PvP players perhaps you should take your complaint up with those who have actually created the situation ( hint: it's not the player base.. )

QFE. Jedi doesn't even resemble the profession that I "chose" when I started my grind...

You like pvp, so you are happy about what they have done with jedi in the game.

Good for you. Move along.

Besides that, I also have an annoying sig that looks like part of the post.

a weaponsmith can build armor buy taking armorsmith...Jedi has evolved to a shell of what it once was...some to nerfs...some to a flawed vision by the SOE producers and devs...I do not participate in PvP events any longer with the exception of the BH visits I get upon logging on (which BTW within 10 minutes of logging I get a visit and then every 15 minsanother visit until I log out). If there was an opt out for PvE jedi it would harm NO ONE...The jedi who want PvP would still be able to do so and the ones who want to do the PvE would be able to do so...Now...just so you know...I would chose the PvP but I support the group that does not want to choose that.

pvp isnt the issue, its surviving pvp. a pre 9 jedi wont have a problem because of their sabers. a post cu jedi has terrible sabers in general. Ghe biggest problem is that pre pub 9 jedi generally dont care about post cu jedi because their ability to dominate is much greater pvp against younger jedi. This in itself is the main reason pre cu jedi are mainly against giving post cu jedi any boosts to their templates. then you have people like me, pub 10 jedi that couldnt get pearls in a consistant manner becuase of having to grind all the time. It comes down to either a pre cu jedi with the attitude of wanting to support post cu jedi, or a pre cu jedi who just want to dominate all in the game. thats why the word "interm" is used when they talk about pre cu pearls. wait till they get removed from the game, then the pre cu jedi who kept saying dont change anything will sing a different song. or quit all together.

Well I unlocked the day before the cu so I'm a post cu jedi, my saber is 600 max dmg with 17 fc. What we have to remember that without the frs it is really hard to know exactlly how powerful the Jedi proffesion is. All we know atm is a full template Padawan isn't head and shoulders above a non Jedi template.

ya know what i thought? that like everything else in the game, it would change to suit the majority of the playerbase.

since the majority of this game's population has never been the 'pvp or nothing' types, as more get jedi, it changes.

that's it. im just doing my part ot see it change.

JemyM LOL your back lol.. see I knew you would come out from hiding lol...

No, this is not a PvP plug -- the difference is I KNEW THIS WAS WHAT JEDI WAS ABOUT WHEN I GRINDED... it seems there is people in denial that they did too.

I understand our nerfs and issues... you know this, you also know I hate seeing us made into nothing more then a flesh eating Chuba killer.

With that said... Jedi was and is part of PvP -- people wanting anything less is no more then crying for a nerf.
