- give back the fs points - I completely agree with this (those 24 points are like anchors )
- allow all Jedi to wear "Standard" armor of any type but if you are defender or force armor user and wear it your innate or skill is supressed (like tk and armor) . Standard armor is not quite as good as advanced (max 40% resist). I did see many people against it but it seems that Defender has better armor and so is force armor then this (so it would still be worth getting those skills) but this would allow strange things like enhancer/powers to be a little more survivable. It does not debalance the BH/Jedi thing at all (as people with the other armors would still be using them rather then the standard.)

Ahh yes the much waited for "robes with resists equivalent to composite"

How many skill points did you spend to get 7k+ resistance armor, and how many more skill points did you spend to put an armor break reduction slice on it? Oh yeah, you get superior armor for zero additional skill points beyond your ability to deal damage.
80 skill points worth of armor can be negiated with a rather low level skill, and we have no counter. Err and please don't bring up the stupid crystal again because that bandaid doesn't begin to cover the wound.
uh... maybe you should read next time . I did not say advanced armor at all (no 7k armor here) I said standard armor. Even armor broken a master defenders armor will still stop more damage then standard armor.I am not saying that you should get something for nothing. (well actually I am but I think that crafters should get armor as well and CL as well.... ) If you want we can place the standard armor cert's in the master boxs.
Force Armor and Defender Innate is still better then Standard armor by a large large margin. This would just be something for players who do not have either of them
Also your skill is not negated - it is just lessened with armor break on you. You still resist damage you would not have if you did not have the armor. Tks have the same issue.
I'm not trying to be rude, but do you have a character on live? I've spent some time on TC, and you havethe "consensual pvp" thing going on without competitive pressures of live. I'm a 12 point armorsmith on kauri (sinceApr. 2004), and believe me that avid pvpers don't wear standard armor. Also Pub 24 brought AI changes in which NPCs armor break all the time in the new content, and the Improved Saber Armor Break used by someNPCs will reduce my damage reduction to about 22%..
So tell me again how my armor is better then Standard armor with AB reduction slices?

Sadly, Obi-Wan did not wear armor in any of the official 6 films.. Now, about the books.. They are not part of the canon and the most of them I've read are horrible... Ever read the one with Princess Leia having her kids kidnapped? Or with Chewie's kids being the first wookiee jedi? Or any other horrible and stupid excuses for a book?

Uhh why are these good exactly? Armor + Lightsaber? That's not very jedi like... FS points is sort of why not I'd say thanks for it but it's not the thing we really need at the moment..
I would vote for Glzmo's idea.
Obi-Wan Kenobi wore full Clone Armor during some of the Clone Wars...he even wore the helmet briefly.
I personally don't have a problem with a Jedi wearing some type of light armor. Back in the days of uber-composite, I can see why this would be a problem, however, this isn't the case anymore.
If some type of low-resist armor was provided...I don't really see a big deal personally. If a Jedi can have cybernetic limbs, I don't see why they can't wear armor.

heh can you tell me in which episode you saw this?
I think jedi have 0 need for normal armor at the moment, there are loads more important problems to focus on.
(and btw a guy handling a LS with a cyber arm is horrible enough..)
Yeah there are some rediculas stories from the books but the Clone Wars animated series was worked on by Lucas Film. It was to show us the events in between episode 2 and 3. and to introduce some characters like Grevious. There also working on a TV show, you not going to believe what happenes in that because its not a movie?

I mostly play on live. Eclipse actually. I do pvp. I know avid pvp'rs don't use standard armor - they use advanced. of course a pvp would not use standard as advanced is approx 60% resists vs 40% on standard. I do understand the armorsmith profession ^_- (am one as well - but only farely new)
your right if it is reducing your armor to 22% then standard armor would be superior in that situation. otoh you could make it no slice armor (devs have added that category lately....) which would make it still a secondary choice to defender and force enhancer or the devs could implement something like the sith necklace with armor break resistance. etc... (which I also know has been asked for before multiples of times.)
As I said before these are just silly ideas that I will not defend to the death as they are just that ideas.
Sounds like you all don't like em so /shrug.
about the SP i agree 100% that we are needed
but about the armor i do not agree at all
give us some more iniate armor and melee/range defens in our paddy box instead
that is more then enought
curious... do you play a jedi?

Cool. I've just been noticing a trend in this forum, and wondered if your post fit the pattern. It seems it's usually Jedi younglings who make suggestionssuch asthese ("Remove xp loss!" or "Let me wear armour!"). Regular professions get grinded so quickly that you're almost never a noob Rifleman or a noob TKA, with pathetically weak abilities in that profession. Most"basic" or "improved"level abilities never get added to the toolbar or used, you go right from Novice to using the Master's "advanced" level skill. Elite combat profs start grinding at the MO as a Novice, and a day or so later they're Masters. With the Jedi grind, however, it's a good while before you stop being weak and pathetic, and it takes some getting used to. Hence suggestions like this, which seem like a good idea from someone with Novice Defender, Novice Healer,LS0020 and little else. I know, I made "suggestions" like these too. Around about mid-grind you start to realize they're not such a good idea anymore from a more global perspective.

nope. ^_^ (I actually hadwithpub 10 5 free unlocks...)
no offense either. but I read all the forums (or at least huge chunks of them ) and lately I have been reading the Jedi forums. You will notice I post in almost every forum

Yep, and that was promised way back when Composite was top of the line....

1. I dont think we should get the points back. SOE needs to make the points worth while. All they have to do is put useful skills in the 4th tier and master boxes. As an example, when you have Survival 4, you should earn the "Harvest" skill.
2. Jedi wearing armor is not unheard of, what the heck do you think Darth Vader is wearing. Also, it should be a whole new type of armor that only a Master Armor Smith can make after completing a quest like the RIS quest.
if anything i think all cloning should be xp loss again, also wouldnt mind seeing skill loss... population control needs to be in place

I like the idea of having extra defenses and not making it that you MUST have some part of the defender tree to survive in the universe, but instead of having to wear armour.....the robes (which should be made to be craftable and able to change the colours etc..) should have the defenses, hidden or visable, depending how the dev's want to look at this, but if memory serves me right the dev's said a long time ago that the robes WHERE going to have hidden defenses, this was proven to be a big fat lie
Are you surprised that they would lie? Didn't they say a full temp jedi padawan would be 1.5 times stronger then other professions? Didn't they say that after CU there would no longer be 1 hit incaps?
Anyway it would be cool if we can craft our own robes that way we would see different colors besides white, have sockets in the robes, and a way to place innate armor enhancers in them. But I guess that will never happen![]()
