Fantastic idea so sick of sending BH'ers to clone and not getting any sense of achievement out of it.

Bottom line is this. Jedi stand to lose everything in these encounters, and BH's stand to lose absolutely nothing but a trip to the nearest cloner.

Since when were Jedi supposed to gain something from getting on the terms?

You are a special class. Bounty Hunters are not. Jedi get treated differently because they are different. Bounty Hunters are exactly the same as any other profession, they just have different content.

Should a Smuggler lose an arm for giving a bad slice?

Should a Ranger lose a leg when a Rancor kills him?

Should aSmith need to pay 200k for making crappy guns?

Bounty Hunters arejust like everyone else. We have a job to do and we do it. The penalty for our failure is not being paid, just like every other normal profession in this game.

Excuse me there, but why so many BHs cry to nerf us then ? Isn't that you who cry to make us, Jedi, equal ?

BH losses:

Cost of high endarmor/weapons so as to have a chance

Cost of foods/buffs/spices

Cost of clone binding, and insurance

Equipment Decay

Cost of Travelling

Cost of Arykyds

Cost of BH tracking droids

Time spent flying to Kashyyyk

Before he even takes a single mission, the cost is already high.

Now... the bringing 4 of his friends was mentioned.

In this Jedi plan to punish BH's who dare try to fulfill their role in this game, should a BH who tries it solo have to suffer a penalty equal to a BH who brings 4 friends?

Keeping in mind, a full template Jedi is by design, more powerful than a single BH.

Does that really seem fair?

Just a few points on this...and a few points to the people I see making posts...some of which aren't really researched (note I said some)

First...Bounty Hunters are NOT like any other profession...lets look at a MBH with some TK (just one block even) and some Medical prof be it doc or CM..

MBH - Has the defenses of a4400 Defender with combat stance that REFLECTS damage

TK - Improved Center of Being which has the same effect as Improved force aura only no force use..

DOC/CM - a doc with one line in healing will be able to out heal a master Healer after patch 19

(any high end weapon can and will outdamage a gen 4 lightsaber unless someone has 4 perfect tunes in which it might even out..mix BH with even ONE melee class and you will outdo a master defenders skills at not even comparible xp and time costs)

Note that you still have alot of skill points to play with so you can take whatever else you like..maybe some smuggler with a root shot, or rifleman with cover that hides you from other players....you have flexibilty, Jedi do not, they are limited to 5 choices...

Regular profession you say? add in all the specials armor and ranged and not only do you have the abilites of a jedi under different names, you have none of the penalties and enjoy weapons and armor, grouping, fun things like bounty hunting...the one thing you lack is a lightsaber, which to me is what most cry about...carry on.

Next, as for the "hiding" umm...here's a bit of news , Bounties invariably hide from Bounty Hunters...have you watched movies or read books? thus the "hunting" idea..if you get angry because a mark won't stay still then play something else.

Next as for the padawan hunting...low levels won't be in as much danger as you think..a brand new Padawan could very well likely be a MBH/Rifleman himself so...take those at your own risk I say...might not be as bad as you think in that regard. The 125k or so payouts might take a bigger hit though.

Lastly yes a BH SHOULD be punished for loosing bounties. Lets take a look at the movies for a moment...Han Solo worked for Jabba (a smuggler yes) dropped a shipment, and Jabba hunted him and had him mounted on a wall....don't you think that a BH employer might become a little irritated at one of their own messing up jobs? seems immersive to me...maybe they get on the terms themselves when they loose x number of missions or perhaps powerful NPC's hunt them down..maybe they get punished with sub-standard equipment like borked body parts

What most fail to see is this...Jedi run from PVP in most cases because they have NOTHING to gain by staying and fighting. Nothing. Put some element of risk in there for the BH and you might see more Jedi stop running and hiding and staying to fight....this actually helps you BH...are you afraid of the risk? that would be hippocritical if you were...personally I like looking over my shoulder, it's fun. Anyway food for though and some factual info.

ok yeah i can see this if you lost a set of armor for each jedi encounter. But the fact that cost over time is very low to what you are making.,

Cost of clone binding, and insurance

um ok yeah. Jedihave to pay this too. infact everyone has to pay this.

Equipment Decay

ok yeah i can see this if you lost a set of armor for each jedi encounter. But the fact that cost over time is very low to what you are making., (same as above )

Cost of Travelling

JTLS? Cost=NADA

Cost of Arykyds

Cost of BH tracking droids

Time spent flying to Kashyyyk

Being forced to play a game with an Alpha class

No alpha class any longer

Wasting his time dying against a profession designed to outclass him by 1.5x

Wasting time. If we are going to compaire time waisted I can be certain that my time to get the XP i just Lost is greater than the amount of time any BH is going to spend hunting me.

Right now the cost for a BH is very minimal per jedi mission.

Over time sure the cost adds up but I am sure most are making more than they are spending optherwise they wouldnot keep doing the missions. (unless they just really like to grief)

Risk V Reward has been stated by the devs for a very long time.

Jedi used to have the Risk v reward ina pretty good way. Now Jedi is mainly Risk with not alot of reward.

Post-CU cause most of the issues. I.e. affective grinding solo.

and it seems this is not on the Devs list of things that need to be fixed soon.

BHs are again an alpha class in themselves. They are recieving more defenses then most normal combat classes,a nd combined with a few different templates they are as powerful as a 226 Paddy.

This Bounty system involves 2 classes BH/Jedi

Jedi have a risk, BH do not.

This is probably the reason thatalot fo people took up /respec BH. They could bypass the things that made BHtime consumingto get (investigations), and with justa little item decay 1% if insured on death they are free to roam the galaxy killing whomever they feel. If the risk was greater it would make it more compelling for them to choose a target more carefully.

And I tell you this If the Jedi knew the BH had something at stake int he matter there would be lots more Jedi fighting.

Right now there is no point to fight. only thing I get is either a dead BH (who willjust take my mission again), or -400+k XP.

That being said.... I think that since SWG has decided to implament cybernetic body parts into the game, then maybe us Jedi could have a bit of fun with it. I am in no way suggesting that the DEV's try to make the game graphic in nature so that body parts go flying, however I do have a suggestion, let me break it down.

:: Current Gameplay Facts ::

- When a BH kills a Jedi, the Jedi loses massive amounts of xp

- When a BH kills a Jedi, the BH makes tons of money

- When a BHtakes a Jedi mission, the BHcan bring friends to help------not completely true, the way you word this makes it sound like the BH can bring anyone, which they cannot. They can bring other BH's ONLY if the other BH's also have the mission and those other BH's can only attack the jedi if they are also grouped, otherwise no go.

- When a Jedi gets attacked, NO ONE can help them at all

- When a Jedi actually kills a BH, they get nothing (except being on the BH-Terms some more)

Seems to me that Jedi lose no matter how you look at it, in a BH encounter. If the BH wins, he gets paid and the Jedi gets the shaft. If the Jedi wins, he gets... well... you guessed it....more BH's coming for him...

Bottom line is this. Jedi stand to lose everything in these encounters, and BH's stand to lose absolutely nothing but a trip to the nearest cloner.

:: My Cybernetic Suggestion ::

- The game already has cybernetics set up, and coded into the game, to pop onto your body randomly at different cloners if you did not clone before you died. You might have seen some of your friends walking about Dathomire with silver legs a few times

- I say this... If a BH is defeated in combat by a Jedi, then to simulate the body parts that would normally most certainly hit the floor, make them clone automatically with a Cybernetic Body part at random. but not just any old generic Cybernetic... one with negative stats too it... ex... -15 terrain neg, or -10 melee def, etc etc

- These cybernetics can still be removed by a Cyber-Doc in the Hospital anytime they wish, BUT... it would cost the BH whatever his Jedi mission was worth that he failed. So if a BH took a 225k mission on a Jedi and dies, then it will cost him 225k to remove his horrible new body part

I just think it's high time that BH's actually had some risk in going up against an opponent such as the Jedi. You have all heard BH's say.... " Oh I only do it for the money".... "Nuthing personal".... ok fine, lets hit them where it counts, in thier pocket book

---May The Force Be With You---

cool idea implimenting more of a risk-reward system but there are a few things that i can see becoming pretty serious problems with this:

1) RP aspect: why would it cost a Bh more to take off a cybernetic that was applied due to a jedi than otherwise?

2) More paddie hunts, with more people. I know a number of knights/full templated paddies who don't mind getting attacked by BHs and more often: you say that a jedi loses massive amounts of jedi xp but to these fully templated knights that xp loss is a moot point because most of them are done with their temp and dont' really care if they die or not, so they just have a blast with the pvp. Impliment this system and they won't be hunted because who wants to go after someone when death is certain, and it's going to cost them more to get that cybernetic removed? Sure you get a bit more cash IF you win, but unfortunately it's already not enough incentive for a BH to go after a 225/226k mark, and this would only discourage that content for the higher level jedi. What's the more devistating consequence? Well noone wants to have to pay cash to get their arm back right? so simply put the BH will group up more and go for the lower level missions. After all who really cares if it's a bit less cash so long as there's less risk? the only people that would be doing the higher level missions would be the ones that truly believe they have a great chance at coming out on top or the ones that are too dumb to know the difference, or the ones who have so many cr to burn they can take those hits frequently just for the fun. Unfortunately i can forsee that this could just cause more BH ganking more lower level paddies. Not good for you, and even i as a BH dont' like the idea of BH ganking the lower level paddies either.

You would incur the same exact expenses while doing free for all pvp, base take downs, pve, etc. Having decay or usage loss on your equipment and eating some food is not a unique expense for BH, it is the same expense that every combat player has.

Tracking droids bugs have made them free for over a year.

Everyone pays to travel to their content.

No one forces you to play the game.

Having a BH interupt me while I am playing is a waste of my time as well. You chose BH, I chose Jedi. You get to deal with me being stronger, I get to deal with you and all your friends interupting my game play.

The "role" of a BH is going to change. The frame work has already begun being down loaded. Read the TRE files from the last patch and you will see.

There are penalties coming for failure. Did you really expect to nerf Jedi down to this level and still get 1st strike, 5:1, and huge payouts with no risk?

In the end you will be one of the players most responsible for these changes to the BH. Give yourself a big pat on the back.

On the contrary, I think Jedi should be amply rewarded for their efforts. However as Jedi becomes easier and easier to obtain, the benefits need balancing as well. Compare a 4444 Guardian from the past and a 226k Padawan now. That's why Jedi are supposed to be only 1.5x stronger than a normal prof now.

The only time I ask for a "nerf" is when it becomes apparent that a Jedi's power exceeds the 1.5x ratio. 1500 stat heals every four seconds with 28 SP investment (1500 every 2 seconds with 54 SP) and minimal force drain is an example of this. I'll probably change my tune as soon as Pub 19 comes, although I would have been satisfied with moving Improved Force Heal to Master.

The biggest nerf that will be required is if hunts are made entirely one-on-one. How can a player be expected to win a 1v1 fight when his opponent is 1.5x stronger than him? If Jedi aren't nerfed in such a scenario, expect to see lower level Jedi even more heavily targeted than they are now.

Try pitching that idea to the bounty-hunter forums; it will be teared to shreds and burned like Anakins limbs. If this involves BHs, then @ least they should be part of the discussion.

Any BH who picks up TK is a fool. You're blending melee mods with a ranged profession and that's just not going to work out.

DOC/CM - a doc with one line in healing will be able to out heal a master Healer after patch 19

How exactly is a TK/BH also expected to pick up doc or CM as well? Yes, it is possible, but you'd be sacrificing about half of your offensive capabilities.

You're using more examples from other professions and not a whole lot from Bounty Hunter. And no, Jedi are not limited to 5 choices, they are welcome to pick up the same secondary professions that are open to Bounty Hunters.

Jabba put a bounty out on Han because Han dropped Jabba's shipment, i.e. Han lost something that wasn't his. Bounty Hunters don't get paid until the job is complete, so an unsuccessful Hunter costs his contractor nothing. Why would a contractor bother spending more money on a second bounty when he can just wait for someone else to collect the first?

That would be like putting a reward out for a lost cat and then fining everyone who doesn't find it.

How would an element of risk for BH convince a Jedi to stay and fight? Sure, they might be tempted at first, but as soon as things turn sour, it's back inside that house. How is this any different from now?
