Thread: CIVIL Discussion about a New FSCS system

I am currently on my 11th profession post-silent, 17th overall.
If the recognition I am to recieve does not involve revealing my silent profession, to let me have to still go all the way though mastering it, or placing me on the last leg of any quest system, with a waypoint to my quest objective, this game gets deleted.

Well. With that many down I bet if you hustle you can unlock before the publish no matter what.
i think that everyone needs to re-read the Friday feature again...
it's a tad ambiguous...
is it the Jedi system changing, or the path to open a FS that is changing?
are they removing the "grind by yourself" aspect of Jedi and replacing with more Jedi-centric quests, or are they removing holo-grinding.
Here's a quote:
Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi.
All the changes listed have to do with the Jedi profession itself, not with the way to become FS.
When they're talking about "players being rewarded for their work" they may very well mean current Jedi who have ground their way up the tree, not hologrinders. The little info we have says nothing about becoming FS. I think when they say "becoming a Jedi" everyone mistook that for opening the slot. It probably just means progressing from padawan to Jedi and so on.
I wonder if everyone is screaming for no reason. Of course the devs live to confuse us...so...
a'cer
Ok here's my opinion ... The way I see it, there are going to be two classes of people to work with here ...
POST SILENT HOLO group & PRE SILENT HOLO group
I like many of you have been seeking that final profession with more patient and feverish profession grinding. Currently on professions # 18 & 19 simultaneously. If this change was to go into effect today, I would like my work thus far to be recognized by either:
1) Having the new system providing a final hint so that the Post Silent Holo seekers can be steered more precisely to that final profession and be done with it. Those just starting the game or not having finished their Holo professions would be placed at the start or somewhere along the new path system accordingly.2) Totally erase the old profession system and put everyone into the new system and based on how many professions have been mastered (including the # of previous Holo professions had been mastered) develop a ranking system so that each of us can be placedwithin the new system with a corresponding amount of steps finished.
Whats really gonna be difficult I imagine is deciding how to reward those of us in the Silent category who have been grinding away blindly for so long. Within our own group there is a wide range of people entering and leaving with all sorts of varying degrees of work needed to open each of our slots. The easiest way I think is going to be for the Devs to just lump individuals in each of the two categories i noted above regardless of its fairness.
When I think back about my own grinding through 12 profesions (might be not sooo much; many have done far more, which I regognize and feel with them) it was dreadfull!
I was very close to chancel my account, which happily and luckily I didn't. Seriously, I like this game and I do believe that SWG will prosper and became more and more fun. Pls, keep in mind, that not much contet has been placed so far. Is it so?
What about the coding of mounts, player cities and vehicels. ? i think its some huge junk of work done there. (personal point of view)
So I conclude that now more time will be available for other work, not bugfixing only. Might be that I wrong, but only time can tell.
Anyway a new, secret or not (I mean any secrets will be revieled anyway by the community itself) is the right path. Make it chalnging (not only running from A to B killing C) and not based on random spawns! Big NO NO NO.
I remeber when the holocrons has been introduced, and one of the very first confirmed locations were the force caves. This place was soooooooo jammed, those NPC died before done with loading. Make it different to everybody. chalanging, maybe with riddles (but think not in english lines only, since ppl from all over the world play here; mean no idioms)
And of course regognize in the right way work already done after and before silent holocron. mastering XX profesions is quiet some dedication.
This and the "death" thing for Jedi is the right step.
It will stop griefing! while dying and trying to unlock.
The community can again play! We can choose profesions we like, RP again and not hit the mouse button stupiditly over and over again.
thank you
Why do all the holo-grinder thinks that they deserve any compensation?
NO one told you to go grind Holo's, you chose to. I have 4 of them and I never expected to grind. Most of the players that are grinding for FSCS are miserable anyhow...... but the rest of the players that haven't gone and grinded out profession after profession are still enjoying the game. I am sorry you spent months and hundreds of thousands of credits to accomplish your goals, but it was your choice to do so. I hope the DEVS do acknowledge all of you efforts, but I will not feel sorry for you if they don't. I still think the holo-grinders were nuts, holo's have destroyed alot of really cool peoples guilds, and also caused a lack of goods and services to be available in many cities. Sorry about things changing, but it seems to me the quest for Jedi just got interesting instead of dry and boring the way it has been.
