Thread: Hold the upgraded cloak code until...

a) Don't fight the cloak change, but make sure that powers gets something really good in return AT THE TIME OF THIS PUBLISH.

b) Fight against the snare. (since this is what most people have problems with)Get devs to add an exception to the new code that excludes cloak from being snared.

As a Mpowers I would like to see him fight for both of those things, but as a Jedi I hope he at least fights for the second one.

ya, if it needs to be moved to master do it, just dont put a snare on for god sakes :'( cloak is one of the things that makes powers...powers. And jedi skills are in no way associated with "ranger skills" jedi do not use some machine to hide themselves, they use the force to cloak themselves and it specifically says "force cloak allows the jedi to cloud the minds of those nearby" which i think you should move at any speed you want. And instead of a snare, they could make it where if your just standing still the force cost would be minimal, while if you have Force Run 3 and are running through a large group of players, it should cost a significant amount more force than it does when standing still and so on.

Over 1030 days logged/wasted/ruined by SOE.

Thank you SOE for ruining a perfectly good game

This is nothing new they have allways nerfedwhats not broke and left whats broke broke their track record speaks for itself. Every patch in the last year or more has included some type of nerf to our proffession including both jedi revamps.

/puke

Edit:

This could very well be the finishing move on master powers as well When your attacks do crap damage and your def isnt worth much the ability to come in and out of combat at will is cruicial we are prob screwed if it has been nerfedbadly i dont really play anymore anyway so whatever at this point.

It's not only bounty hunters who want it moved to the master box. I've wanted it that way for ages. Of course, I'm master powers.

It also says "Businessman". My main is a Jedi. I'm also a roleplayer. I've had that title for over a year now(haven't been an artisan in ages).

Moving cloak to the master box still doesn't fix the fact that people are using it to "selectively bypass combat" and to escape battle at any time they feel like it, instead of as an alpha strike as it was intended.

Right, so again, point out to me which skill IN POWERS we can use for our alpha strike. Mind you, I'm talking about one that won't make every bounty hunter laugh when we do it.

Hold the phone.

About these WoW arguments that are cropping up.

This game isn't WoW... the game is way more dynamic in how it shapes up. Now if we only had 3d terrain negotation, I'd be super happy.

As for WoW vs SWG success... both sides are going to spin doctor these results. If anyone has hard numbers on this one, I'd encourage him or her to go to the off topic forum with it. I'm curious to see the numbers myself. Here, it's just distracting from the issue at hand: the state of cloak/Mpowers (the two are absolutely linked).

Powers (not just Mpowers)= Rogue-ish. I think this totally makes sense. Powers is very rogue-ish and the whole genre around powers fits conceptually into this idea. Ranger's upcoming stealth, smuggler's underworld connections (and stealth for them too would be cool and make TOTAL sense) all fit into the idea of a dark side powers sneak up behind you and stab you in the back type of playstyle.

Rogues in WoW are a really fun to play. But they have an alpha strike ability (a couple actually) that goes with their version of "cloak" (an alpha strike facilitator). I think we're getting lost in the semantics here. If the new changes go through, Cloak will help "deliver" an alpha strike, but powers does NOT have an alpha strike or ability to make it viable with a snared cloak. If it does and I'm missing something here, please let me know.

instead of as an alpha strike as it was intended.

The devs conveniently neglected to tell any of us it was intended as an Alpha Strike.

Had we known we would have asked for a high damage special to go with it like Rifleman already have.

alpha strike....ROFL...yeah u always send in your weakest member of your group to lead the charge....if its a alpha strike ability, they should move cloak to Mdef and be done with it

True, it's not WoW. Anyone can see that the devs have 'borrowed' a lot of features from WoW though. I hear they have from EQ2 also, but I only played that for 1 hour in a free trial and didn't get into it at all, so I can't comment on EQ2 much.

If they wish to continue borrowing from other successful games, then I suggest they go ahead and make the changes to cloak. At the same time, I suggest they give us a powerful, powers only attack that can only be executed from a cloaked position. Sounds too much like WoW to me maybe, but oh well.
