Thread: Would you delete your Jedi for PRE-CU????

Alot of ppl say they would go back to it in a heartbeat but never actually state what the reasons are.
My Example....Yes....I like Pre-CU in the sense that we had LS-Dmg and animations were great etc....but the thing I dont like is the old combat queue....simply spamming specials over and over. IMO the cooldowns (and to a certain extent warmups) make you think about your next move and make combat more exciting even if the overall system still has many flaws.
If it were possible to have the was combat work as it standsnow with some of the old Pre-CU things like LS dmg and animations, power .....not to mention Doctors actually crafting meds and using them instead of magically curing you......dancers/musicians giving mind buffs...and the list of other professions that once meant something that are now very much obsolete...then YES....i'd gladly go back.
A lot of people don't say their reasons because they're implied and if a full list was printed, it would take up multiple posts.
A few of my reasons:
1) The new interface is TERRIBLE!!
2) The particle effects are gaudy and unrealistic
3) The level system is poorly conceived, and destroyed one of the most original things in the game.
4) People are STILL soloing every bloody creature in the game, it just takes a different set of skills.
5) Am I the only one who actually liked the look of composite armour?
6) I would love to be able to wear my sets of Stormtrooper, Scout trooper, Assault trooper, RIS and composite armour again, even if just for show. Same goes for some of the cool-looking weapons I've looted, like the Necrosis Nightblade
7) Docs actually crafting medicine instead of using healing spells
8) The creatures were more realistically balanced. My current CL-1 alt would never get mauled and killed by an angry bunny (frenzied durni) in the old system.
9) /mourn AT-ST. If it wasn't almost COMPLETELY useless before, it sure is now...
10) Groups are a hassle. Hard to avoid vis, hard to get together, hard to keep together.
11) The over-equalization of weapons, armour, etc, along with the introduction of far better, easy-to-get quest loot has screwed over crafters and made the industry far less competitive than it used to be. Same deal in PvP, one fencer/swordsman/carbineer/whatever is essentially the same as the next.
12) I miss my HAM bar....
13) Entertainers actually used to DO something, besides provide a bonus to XP. How far they have fallen...
14) The game has turned from "Whack the other guy's mind and hit him with the uberest DOT" warinto "Heal and defensive mods" wars. Though the old system was flawed, I did prefer it. None of this hour-long PvP garbage....
15) Three words: FRS. Well, it's kinda three words, if you count each letter as a word....
16) Decent DPS sabers.
17) Diversity in weapons types. No one cares about elemental damage, or even energy vs. kinetic damage any more, it's just the overall DPS that matters. Stun was overpowered, but that could have been easily fixed.
18) Templates have been restricted. For many months before I became a Jedi I would have one combat prof forhologrinding/FS grindingand one non-combat prof forwhen I decided I needed a break from the grind. Not possible to do that anymore, as your CL will be under 50 and you will be nigh-on useless.
19) The option was available to grind solo. Yes, it was pretty much all anyone ever did and I'm not saying that part was right, but I'd still like the option to be able to grind solo and still be able to finish my template in under 10 years.
20) There was still some semblance of a GCW. It wasn't the greatest thing ever, but it was still there.
21) Med centers are now nothing more than big decorations.
.....do you still want more examples, or should I stop now?

this was never a level based bame....thats what set this game apart, it was proff based
everyone i know over 10 years old on chilistra hates the CU
i think it works like this
under 16 years old=likes the CU
over 16 years old=realizes SOE has dumbed down the game with the CU for the kiddies who saw episode 3
While Jedi have many many issues caused by the CU, I do not miss pre-cu at all. Even if I am not as good as I was before, the game is alot more fun now.

Iwas not at a high enough level pre-cu to miss much. i do miss the old fr2 though.
That's one of the things that was better. But I wouldnt trade my now awful advanced forcerun for the need to find a doctor all the time and spending 14 minutes to watch an entertainer just to survive a bounty hunter encounter, with Legendary T-21's and mindshot3
