Um dude if the start kit has new content on it then why is it for only 20 bucks and top of that its been around seenJTL launch. so for one get your info right and stop making up stuff your self donts even know thats true. like for 1 saying SoE is going to try to make more of a profit off of SWG justby making jedi a starting job dude look at this link thy ready sold more then 1million copys of ToOW so i dont think thy are worrying about money proplems right now.
http://www.lucasarts.com/press/presscount.jsp?num=1
And for the first impression for new players thy ready made a starting npc showing them how to play and stuff and saying that thy might be someone important one day which is clearly showing them the road a jedi. "The road to becoming a jedi is not a easy one"

Allow me to translate this sickening interview as I work and teach Public Relations. Also for those who dont understand how this works, most likely these questions (along with others) were sent via email or telephoned in. Most companies like Lucas will only approve an interview like this with pre-approved questions and sometimes with no followup questions allowed. This is why many times you'll see interviews such as this where the interviewer doesnt slam the interviewee when they give fluff answers or dodge a question or in SOE's case, flat out lie.
The interview..

This is more of an issue of perception. What often causes this impression is that the Jedi are one of the most iconic and popular type of Star Wars characters for fans and as result many players take on the Jedi profession. Additionally, the Star Wars fiction and canon hold the Jedi to be some of the deepest and most intricate characters in the universe, so in order to remain consistent with this the Jedi require proportionally more depth than some of the other characters and professions, especially when you involve the mysterious nature of The Force. As with any game of this type, the more players you have of a certain class or profession, the greater the challenge of delivering fresh content for said players. Despite this we still maintain that Galaxies has an equal, if not more, amount of content for non-Jedi professions.
Thats true, the other 50% of the game is devoted to Bounty Hunters
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
This is one of our exciting new weapon loot items that players will be able to earn after finishing a series of high-level quests. However, how players acquire the item will remain a mystery until our players discover it for themselves.
This question actually brings to mind another new feature we have introduced with Trials of Obi-Wan. That feature being a cyclical loot and rewards system which allows players to earn different loot and rewards each time they complete a quest, even if they have completed the quest(s) already. We are confident this will bring great replay value to Galaxies as well as reward players with some great new items.
Yeah its very exciting all right and pointless like this game has become. An extremely ugly crystal that the community has flamed over and over again because it has no business being in the game. Its an awful color. And finally, it has no bonus stats so nobody will ever use it.

Mustafar was a natural choice for our next planet as it allowed for us to make fun and compelling content as well as gave us an opportunity to make some technological advances in the game, such as the new bursting lava flows and damage from environmental effects – a first for any of the Galaxies games and expansions. Mustafar is by far our most immersive environment yet. Additionally, with our introduction of the iconic Obi-Wan ghost, the fact that Mustafar was the location of Obi-Wan and Anakin’s “final” battle allowed us to tie these two great elements together while remaining consistent with Star Wars fiction and canon.
Umm can you say prepared statement ? Nice attempt to dodge the question. Classic pr in action, turn a possible negative question into another way to promote the features. Well done.

Unfortunately, I can’t comment on anything regarding future Galaxies projects at this time.
Our Marketing dept has determined that our core player base, now mostly 13 year old console WoW kiddies has never even heard of those places. So heck no we wont be adding them in. Of course we wont state that publicly to keep some of the old vets around. Our next planet expansion will most like be another weird planet from episode 3 like the planet where grevious and kenobi fought
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
The design team actually came-up with a really creative role and story for Obi-Wan in terms of continuity which stays true to the Star Wars fiction and canon. One of the overarching goals of completing the quests given by Obi-Wan is to aid him in his quest for redemption for failing to keep Anakin from turning to the Dark Side. Fans will recognize the Shore of Remorse (a location where Obi-Wan appears) as the location where Obi-Wan struck down Anakin in their “final” battle. From a design perspective he plays a crucial role in tying together the stories and quests of Trials, going far beyond the typical “marketing icon.”
In other words, we could care less about continuity. Do you honestly think we care when we know we can make some money off our core players ? Did we care when we allowed housands of players to become jedi ? Did we care when we added Kashyyyk ? Did we care when we put in Grevious ? And will we care with the addition of a KOTOR character HK47 ? No, we care only for the bottom dollar and will destroy any and all star wars cannon if it will earn a profit.
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
In addition to releasing the expansions, LucasArts and SOE continue to offer an abundant amount of new downloadable content included in the monthly subscriptions. We are confident that Galaxies continues to offer just as much, if not more, in terms of content included with the monthly subscription. One thing to keep in mind is that for any subscription-based game, the amount of new content that is delivered regularly with the subscription decreases over time, but never completely goes away.
Yep, a flat out lie here. We havent added any content to speak of since the Death Watch Bunker over a year ago. At this point, we are in EQ mode....release a small crummy expansion every 4 months and charge a premium price. The players are so desperate for content they'll buy it. We have no plans on adding more free content in this game so forget it.
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
Not at all as we like to hear all forms of feedback from our player base, it is not only listened to by us but very appreciated. We are always working on improving our game for the players, so their feedback is essential for this to happen. If anything, the Star Wars brand helps the game because of its easy recognition and die-hard fans.
LOL, I cant believe they bought that answer. Yeah we value their opinions all right. Then we delete their negative polls like the one about the CU then lie in follow-up interviews by stating the majority of the player base was pro-CU. Heck we've even been known to post on the forums telling the players they face a banning if they continue to post negative comments. We simply are not interested in open communication and will continue to delete and ban players to keep the rest of the community ignorant to how bad this game really is and to cover up the many hundreds of lies over the years.
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
At the end of the day and above all else, we are responsible for creating fun and compelling game content that immerses players in the Star Wars fantasy. Though the Star Wars brand does add a bit to this challenge, I would also say that it gives us an exciting and endless supply of inspiration and content to work with when designing game elements, mechanics, and stories.
We were stunned by how passionate these guys are. In retrospect we probably should have hired some developers who happened to like Star Wars. However the hardcore 30+ year old star wars fans aremostly quitting now and all we are left with are some console kiddies who've only seen the recent movies. The rest that have joined over the past year arent the hardcore types, they're only here to shoot stuff. Star wars means nothing to them so we can avoid following cannon a lot more now whew.
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
Well, for starters the game has been vastly improved since its launch two years ago and players seem to agree as the game continues to sell really well (we recently surpassed the 1 million units sold mark), growing the size of the Galaxies player base. I guess when it comes down to it, I would remind some of the former players that Galaxies is the only game in existence that truly allows you to completely and totally immerse yourselves in the Star Wars universe, fiction, and experience. In addition to this, it is a great game that continually improves and that we are very proud of.
Wow what a way to lie about something eh ? Tell them we have sold over 1 million units. But dont mention we only have 200k players actually playing these days. In other words, 800k players have bought the game only to quit or 4/5 of every player to try the game decided it sucked
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
My favorite part of Galaxies is that it allows me to immerse myself in the Star Wars universe like nothing else can at any time, all the time. In addition to that aspect, I would say the amount of depth Galaxies offers in terms of the game itself is simply amazing and provides near-endless gameplay and fun experiences.
Actually, I have only played a total of 5 hours and that was to see what all the fuss was about. I actually prefer World of Warcraft
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
This has definitely been a challenge for our game in the past, but has come a long way, especially in terms of directing the player to what they need to be doing early-on. The first experience a player has with a game is incredibly important in terms of design because it is within this initial time frame that a player decides whether they will continue playing the game or move-on to something else. Knowing how important it is to put your best foot forward as early as possible, we are constantly looking for ways to make the game more accessible to more players and improve the overall experience. That being said, we actually have some very exciting things in the works right now to help accomplish this. Stay tuned.
We have an all-new starter kit coming out but in classic SOE fashion we will lie to the players so they dont get upset over it. We will also use our alt names to post flames on anyone who questions this to give the appearance that this idea is ridiculous. Only when it comes out will we announce it exists. And of course we wont apologize to the players who tried in vain to bring it up
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
Though I can’t go into any detail regarding future products, I can tell you that Trials of Obi-Wan will not be the last expansion to Star Wars Galaxies. We are constantly conceptualizing, designing, and thinking about the future for this great game that despite being out for over two years, continues to be enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of players.
Of course it wont, our new core players post-cu have short attention spans and therefore we will need to continually release mini planets with a few time consuming quests to keep their feeble minds interested
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
Sorry, not at liberty to share this kind of information.
Like we would ever tell you how bad we are doing lol
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
Even though Mustafar has plenty of content, quests, items, etc. for non-Jedi, there is GREAT content specifically for Jedi, especially when you consider we have robust quests and missions given by one of the greatest Jedi ever.
Of course we dont mention the lies we stated previously that this expansion was for non-combatants too
MMORPG.com:Julio Torres:
As I mentioned before, with all content we make sure that there is something that appeals to all professions, Jedi and non- Jedi alike. Trials of Obi-Wan is no exception. We are confident all high-level Galaxies players will find enjoyment in what we are bringing to them on Mustafar.
Of course we wont mention crafters or entertainers because who cares about them. The original dev team that thought they were an important aspect of the game are loooooong gone. The marketing suits tell us that our console kiddie crowd doesnt care so to heck with them
Enjoy blowing stuff up you idiots and make sure to keep paying us for something you could get for free from non-mmorpg star wars games with less bugs too
lol someone is very pissed tonight...

SOE/LA are for-profit businesses. When they can make more $$$than they will lose, Jedi will be a starter profession.

the devs cant be that stupid.... We may have survived the CU....but with what you said the game will die so fast. All the vets will leave, then new ppl will play game, get bored then leave. THEN no one will get the game.... EVERYONE will be running around with a lightsaber. If i was the maker of Star wars, i would be VERY angry what SOE has done to my movie based game. IF the devs what to make less jedi, like it should be make jedi even harder to get, double or triple the amount of xp needed per fs box. There isnt suppose to be as much jedi as their is now anyway... why make more?

Whether or not you believe MULTIPLE sites is up to you guys. However there is no debating this fact...
Those same sites that advertised the PS2 version, right? I remember it being on Amazon and I think EBGames or some such. Again, a new player added experience could be something simply add to the existing core game. Can you imagine bringing an offline toon into an online game? I can't. The complexity seems like a nightmare...too many things can and will go wrong.
For someone who teaches PR, you sure aren't very good at it.
o btw thy have sold more the 1mill of copsy b/c look at the forums there are mroe then 1mill post here
That is quite possibly the DUMBEST argument I have ever had the unfortunate experience of reading.
Unless you meant 1 million Posters rather than posts either way still dumb.

They've sold 1 million units of SW:G, JTL, ToOW, and RoTW. combined.
LucasArt's statement of 1 million copies sold was misleading to the nth degree.
Bringing your special style of postinghere now, Thunderbolt? To any who read...T-Bolt has flip-flopped on his love/hate relationship with SWG for quite some time. One minute he slams those who decide to stay because WoW is so cool, thenext coupleof months later, he comes back and says how wrong he was and how much better SWG is than WoW. This lasts until the recent round of perceived "nerfs" and now he is off again. He is now just turning into another conspiracy theorist.
This new one is right up there with SWG being ported to the PS2. Until you see the box on the shelves, NOTHING you have read about the "SWG Starter Kit" is even remotely true.
