Like I said, against an experienced PvPer Mdef the odds of hm actually needing to AI is slim to none. Typically if they have to AI the fight is already over.

I beat them down pretty fast so either they AI or they die....
You can have all the experience you want. If you cant handle my DPS your gonna AI or die.
Granted my DPS is pretty high, maybe against someone with a not so powerful saber you may be right.
A Master Defender lacks one of 2 things...
DPS or healing.
At least with the cookie cutter templates.
DPS due to not having force speed 2.
Healing due to having force speed 2 but lacking in the healing branch.
PVE Master Defender owns. PVP 1 on 1 not so much.
i've never lost to any of those......prolly just they weren't very good...300-400 dps for jedi is low for a jedi..my dps is 700...post cu saber precu pearls....

Then I dueled a Master Swordsman/Doctor on my Master Powers/3202Enhancer and won.
My saber is 560-660 and is post-CU. I also have 0044Sabers with non Armorbreak.
Could it be that people are just not good fighters? There's no way I should have won both.
You assume that because someone has a lightsaber they know how to fight? Interesting.
Those were some pretty crappy sabers though, so, while I'm not saying you are unskilled, that probably played into it.
Master Defender does not equal "I win" if the person has no idea on how to fight.

No, you just have pretty good characters, and Jedi suck pretty bad. How you defeated that MSwords/Doctor guy is difficult to tell though. He must be a noob or made drastic mistakes.
very true... swordsman > all in SWG even pre CU jedi( i mean they can get swords better than pre CU sabers in a couple days from a quest
)... hehehe JUST like pre CU really(except TK and Fencer combo ruled)
ive fought swordsman and whenever im not on the edge of my seat winning by half a seccond i know they are a noob, ill-prepared, or have no idea how to pvp

Master Defender templates is easy to beat.
Aside from the great damage they can withstand they cant dish it out as much as a MLS with Force Speed 2.
Avoid Incap can be very annoying and throw you off your game if you dont know what do do.
Beat the target down until he AI's
Stop attacking, concentrate only on heals.
Attack as needed to keep the targets health as close to zero as possible
Hover mouse over AI icon and watch the timer.
When the counter reaches 10 start counting it down in your head and move the mouse to an attack special
When you reach 2 in your head start beating on the target
This should take out the target before another AI is applied.
If the target is able to reapply before you kill them start it all over again. It may take 2 or 3 tries but you will get it in.
Why would a master defender need to use AI in a 1 v 1? unless he sucks. If your not a master defender and you can hold your own without AI dont you think that a master defender would hold his own as well as you without the need of AI?
I dont think your way of beating a Defender is well though. You just assume he will hit AI and then you can back up/cloak/stasis. But what if he is hitting you and healing just like you would be doing? If a defender plays it right... I dont care who you are... he will never need AI in 1 v 1 situation unless he uses it to enter an offensive stance.
Defender is not needed for 1 v 1 fight. Defender is better in PvE and group PvP. 1 on 1 any template can do just as well against any other template assuming you both have same saber specs. I dont know how well powers with no saber would do though... but again... its the player not the skills that make someone good.
i agree with most of this. the best master defenders ive seen i didnt even know they were master defenders because they NEVER used aieven in group pvp. they really do use it as a last resort.
This is true and im sure there are good and bad M Defender PVPers. I guess ive fought all the bad ones.

Are you ranged? Because I have no trouble with ranged as a M.Defender

If I had the interest, and if a Jedi puts in the credits I need for the equipment (~10-20 million or so) I would be able grind a template in 2 weeks and beat him with it.With a Master Swordman, Master Pikeman, 4000 Doctor, a high-quality proper food/spice combo, high-quality heal enhancers, high-quality armorbreaksliced energysliced armor and finally a lootcomponentbuilt sliced Powerhammer and maybe a few of thoose speed enhancers (all of this obtainable in 2 weeks with proper contacts), even the best Jedi Templates with the best Lightsabers will feel like they just ran into a brick wall.
Toe to toe swordsman will nail any Jedi after an armor break even a master defender, but you are forgetting the tools available to Jedi that melee professions do not have and that is root and ranged knockdown and so forth. I timed this guy's heals, center of being macros or whichever he was doing and knocked him down and rooted him and kited outside his ranged to initiate a choke and lightning and that is how I was able to defeat a swordsman/TKM/doctor that no one else was able to touch. Play it smart since there is a way around in almost every profession.

Im master rifles/bh/some CM. Im also capped in general ranged accuracy/speed tapes, rifle speed/acc tapes, melee/ranged/rifle defense tapes, and I hit nothing but air most of the time against mdef.
In fact, rather than healing if he has a decent saber, he should've easily put you into a healing loop that dropped your mind andfinished you. That's what pvp is nowadays, who can put the other person in the healing (mind draining loop) loop first.Sounds like you got a real noob.

yep they are not impossible... even for somebody only using force armor and a 396 DPS saber ![]()
somtimes i imagine how good i could be with a capped saber.... o man if i applied all the skills that i have been forced to learn to beat these kind of playersand then added an incredible weapon i would be absolutely unstopable
