As much as I love PvP I must agree, actually not so much on NPC Visibility but can we get a definitive list from an actual developer on what gets us on the terms!?! I am willing to bet that they don't even know, it's probably random based on CL. And for all you leet kiddies like this guy I have quoted above, you are the reason why this needs to be fixed. We are meant to be out of the public eye but people like "CURBhater" that duel it up in Theed and at Dantooine starports trying so hard to get vis, is reason enough to show that the system is not working as intended. Beef up the player vis and kill the npc crap, that way all the leet "CURBhater" types can get jumped by all the BH on their server thus satisfying him and the people who aren't on 8 hours a day can get in grind a little bit and logout in peace. I am 100% for PvP but I hate bad ideas and broken game mechanics.

BTW: Who else is willing to bet CURBhater isn't even full temp or worth his salt in pvp? He gets points for the carebear reference but I'm willing to bet he loses alot.

vis & bh missions are the last legacy from the pre cu days. it's time they went the way of legendary dot weapons and premium flawless perls.

let jedi that are sf be listed on the terms, on leave jedi are pve JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER PLAYER IN THE GAME.
either that or just remove forced pvp completely.

I have to agree with the op. I for one enjoy pvp but in all honesty there really is no way for the Jedi to both play the game and stay off the terminals under the currentvisibility configuration. Take away npc viz, give the Jedi a bonus of some sort for not using force abilities in front of non group members (ie., no running through Theed showing off ). Allow the Jedi the ability to "sense a disturbance" in the force when they are on the terminals and/or when their mission has been taken up. I look forward to bounty hunters showing up for a fight but they really do not serve their original purpose of controlling the Jedi population and being forced into pvp no longer serves it's true function. If a Jedi is suppose to hide then hiding should be a real option but not at the cost of not being able to experience the games content.

See the thing you fail to realize once you become a Knight your perma overt and can be attacked by other Knights. This is what you call PVP to the 10th power cause you never know if your truely safe.

remove alot of jedi from the public eye by reintroducing saber TEF's in NPC city's and disabling the BH tef in the npc city's.

That is the way it was. Not sure what the dev's have in mind when they reintroduce the FRS. You could be right tho.

Sorry but I just cant agree with this.

If you want to not be bothered with Forced PvP, Bounty Hunters etc... drop all your Force skills and pick up non-Jedi professions again.

Think of playing a Jedi in SWG as having your difficulty mode on 'hard' while everyone else plays on 'easy'. Frankly I'm surprised that an old vet like you posted this.

I welcome Bounty Hunter attacks, they're exciting. I love a good fight against a good BH. And I especially love a quick fight against a bad BH.

The best... running from a trash-talking, jerky BH and making him waste all that time and resources.

You did not get my post at all I see. I could care less about forced pvp. I talk about the Jedi overpopulation and a players ability to fight it without the need of stopping to play the game completely.

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

I disagree. Visibility is one of the few tools the devs have to maintain continuity and balancewith the SWG universe. Jedi are illegal. Jedi also run rampant on every planet. There would be even more Jedi running around if there were no predators hunting them. Visibility is population control, plain and simple. The more vis that's generated, the more population control you have.

If you want to make the point that continuity went out the window six months after SWG launched, fine. But removing npc vis would unbalance a big part of the "risk vs. reward" concept. That would be the 'risk' half of the equation. If youreduce the high risk factor, you then have to reduce the high reward factor to bring the game back into balance. That's when nerfs happen. Why have great rewards when it doesn't require great effort? This is why so many more Jedi exist now than before. This is also why Jedi has been nerfed down to a regular profession.

To be short. This is neither how the visibility mechanic works, nor it's effect upon the game.

The current visibility system allow no "management" at all. Simply speaking, regardless how you play the game, you are on the terminal.

You speaking about "Risk vs Reward" kinda reveals you as a non-jedi player though.

I would like it we get a LOT MORE visibility and be made a little harder. Right now Jedi is as easy as it gets.

The fastest way to get more if you want it is to respec to master healer.

One thing this will eliminate is BH and Jedi going hunting in groups. If the frs makes you overt to other jedi, then bh will do nothing but hunt and track the target till their jedi guild mates show up for the gank squad. at least this eliminates a double attack.

Then you are among thoose who:
A) Gives Jedi a bad reputation

B) Causes all the hate

C) Getting us all the nerfs

As far as I concern I couldnt care less if you dropped all clothes and run around screaming in Theed like a clown, but I am severly bothered when I am blamed for it. That's one of thoose reasons I want to be removed from your so called faction becouse I have no interest whatsoever in playing the game like you do, or be compared to you, or be blamed for what you do, or be confused by your kind.

You are right, I didn't get it at first. That's why I made a second post.

I still like my idea.

Jedi's reward for winning BH fight should be 24 hours off the terms.

I disagree, the content from NPC visibility is what it is. Deal with it. One way is to play your alt which is what I do. Another way is to improve your pilot skills as a jedi. That has given me some time to figure out the flight thing. For the most part I play my jedi as an aside for difficult content toon, then put him away. I am not a flashy "Imma 1337 pwner" glowbat waving punk in Theed or MO. Just my 2 cents.
