You can find those posts by anyone besides Jedi. But your not literate to those I s'pose. And of course they all must be Jedi posting them, because its on the Jedi boards and has a Jedi Icon /rolleyes. But there is no point to arguing this with you, your mind and path is already set. And with those blinders on there is no seeing the full picture.

2)Jedi are growing at an exponential rate and are ruining imersion

3) the general consensisof all jedi is that they should be so powerful no one can beat them which is stupid, and the call for nerfs by the jedi prof against others to gain this and even themselves.

4)in most GCW engagements regs are wipped out quick by the jedi and it ends up a jedi vs jedi duel

Couldn't the same be said about BH/CMs

Out of all the profession shown in the Star Wars movies, games, comics, books, shows and so on. What is regarded as the guardians of the peace and the most elite of warriors? Oh yeah it was jedi. Come up with a better excuse than "they are suppose to be elite". They are elite, why were they so scarse and sought out by bounty hunters and sith or in the same regards the jedi. Force sensitive creatures/humans were rare and powerful beings, that is the basis of everything that was in the Star Wars universe.

1.The numbers of them

2.The way they play, I like the starwars univers. Alot of jedi(not all) spend their time waving their glowbats in starports

3.GCW, unless you are a combat medic or Doc you can forget being a part of GCW/JediWars, and even then get ready to be ganked by 10 jedi at the time.

4.Personal experience, and offcourse this stand on my own playing experience. Jedi is an alpha class profession, which in my eyes bring alot of "Alpha class" players into the jedi profession, meaning that the goal is more important than how you get there. In short, exploiting is allright. Again, just my personal experience.

5.Hate tells, I am a BH and have been so for ages. I get reported often and I get hate tells all the time. I try to act politely, but get griefing and even hate tells and what not from my marks friends/guildies. Again, my personal experience.

6.Camping/Cloaking camping, Alot of places jedi is making it impossible to do the DWB or Necrosis, because they are camping it and pulling agro while using cloak and force run. Thus destroying some good content for other people.

7.The nerf bat, the discussion on this is long and never ending, but it is my personal(yes just me) opinion that a fraction of the jedi community is constantly calling for nerfs of other professions. Again just how I see it.

8.General attitude, "We grinded for ages, why should we not be allmighty", most people just dont like that.

9.The "duel" exploit, if you are a jedi, is it really needed to go "duel" every person you go past that looks like a bh? being like that doesnt help alot on the jedi hate that is for sure.

10.I am imperial

Could I get some views on this, and please, keep it civil and dont flame

Why is it that the bounty hunters always wine&cheese about there being too many jedi but at the same time there are even more bounty hunters out there. Didn't see that in the movies either, are you guys blind to see this?

3.GCW, unless you are a combat medic or Doc you can forget being a part of GCW/JediWars, and even then get ready to be ganked by 10 jedi at the time. Agreed, jedi should only fight Light vs Dark or Jedi vs BH IMO, this jedi walking around killing militia and civilians has nothing to do with Lucas' depiction of jedi.

4.Personal experience, and offcourse this stand on my own playing experience. Jedi is an alpha class profession, which in my eyes bring alot of "Alpha class" players into the jedi profession, meaning that the goal is more important than how you get there. 5.Hate tells, I am a BH and have been so for ages. I get reported often and I get hate tells all the time. I try to act politely, but get griefing and even hate tells and what not from my marks friends/guildies. Again, my personal experience. Caused by the abundance of jedi, most don't know how to use a jedi and are mad because they were best with the most elite class of fighter. Thin out who is good and who is great.

6.Camping/Cloaking camping, Alot of places jedi is making it impossible to do the DWB or Necrosis, because they are camping it and pulling agro while using cloak and force run. Thus destroying some good content for other people. No judgement cause this isn't a jedi only issue, many normal profession based people do this as well.

7.The nerf bat, the discussion on this is long and never ending, but it is my personal(yes just me) opinion that a fraction of the jedi community is constantly calling for nerfs of other professions. Again just how I see it. Once again, thin out the good from great. I'd take back the stackers and PSGs from the old system just to have the pace of combat back.

8.General attitude, "We grinded for ages, why should we not be allmighty", most people just dont like that. You have to see it both ways on this, yes they did grind for a long time. If you did a third of their work why should you be just as powerful? You can't expect someone to do 10x the work you do and you be their equal, it makes no sense.

9.The "duel" exploit, if you are a jedi, is it really needed to go "duel" every person you go past that looks like a bh? being like that doesnt help alot on the jedi hate that is for sure. I've never done this so I have no comment on it. I just think people want to prove they are better than someone else. If you are really that good you won't have to run around and try to prove yourself, your actions will do it for you.

10.I am imperial I agree with this based on the fact that jedi were always sought out and hunted by the imperial faction. There should be no Imperial Jedi, Dark Jedi should be its own faction. Just speaking historically from the sensus of the Star Wars movies, books... you get the idea.

This is a good question. Let me answer it as honestly as I can.

I love my Jedi toon, and I absolutely HATE everything that SOE has done with Jedi from the very beginning. Let me elaborate.

When the game began in 2003, there were merely rumors that there might someday be a Jedi profession in the game. But IIRC it all seemed up in the air -- might happen, might not happen. The only troubling question was, *which* players would get to be Jedi...

SWG was my first ever MMORPG, and I'd never have gotten into this if it hadn't been for SW. And obviously if you love SW, then there's a very good chance you love the concept of Jedi in its purest form (i.e., true Jedi, not fallen Jedi and/or Sith lords). Why? Perhaps because if you're an idealist at heart you love the concept of a noble clan of warriors who were "the guardians of peace and justice" in the Old Republic.

Now, in the first few weeks of the game, there was a lot of speculation as to what it would take to someday become Jedi... a lot of it was fun, because you were wondering what, if anything, you could do in the game to improve your chances. Not until the holocrons made their first appearance and began giving out career advise for young Jedi hopeful, was it a concrete thing for most of us.

And the changes were horrible... all of a sudden the majority of players seemed to be chasing after holocrons like vultures, and showed no interest whatsoever in anything about the game except where to find holocrons and finding out the fastest way to grind whatever professions the holos told them... it was sad, because people seemed so consumed and so greedy and self-absorbed and most of them didn't seem to care about anything or anyone anymore. Simply put, it was dehumanizing, even in the context of a supposedly role-playing game.

I never really liked the PVP side of the game - still don't. But the early stories that began circulating about Jedi players supposedly able to take on 10 regular players and, well, I can almost understand the unbridled lust that took over the mind of most players as they desperately holo-grinded (and in most cases AFK grinded) in a mad and desperate attempt to earn a Jedi ticket.

As for me, personally... I would have loved to see an implementation of Jedi that made it so that it wouldn't allow the powergamers to be the first to get it. Something that would have given an advantage to the players who were most Jedi-like in their interaction with the rest of the playerbase. Anything else would smack of phoniness (and tbh still does).

It is very sad to see so many people consumed by greed and the lust for personal gain; this is still prevalent in the game today, though certainly not limited to players with Jedi toons. Although to be perfectly honest, with some of the rare loot it's kind of hard to see how it could have been avoided to fall in a situation like we have today in the live servers, where so many go all out for the "uber" loot to get rich quick (and presumably, to be able to buy other "uber" loot/items). Almost makes me wish the whole player economy was 100% barter-denominated. But, I digress.

There is no perfect solution to the Jedi situation, never will be as long as the game remains firmly glued to a specific period in the rather epic SW saga. Because Jedi are *supposed* to be nearly non-existant, there can be no real in-game justification for having nearly half the playerbase having a Jedi toon. This in turn makes it difficult to create content that is engaging for Jedi players but that still remains somewhat connected to the original SW saga. (In the new TOOW expansion, I cannot for the life of me think of a single NPC besides Obi-Wan who actually has something to do with the original trilogy - which is after all the supposed setting for SWG. You get more references to Kotor than you do to the original trilogy).

By this point in the game, a lot of people have enjoyed a lot of the really special Jedi skills, powers, and abilities; many who didn't get to enjoy it already with their toons have seen the cool things you can do by watching other Jedi, including friends and guildies. So you can't just water down existing Jedi without leaving a huge part of the player base with the distinct impression that something very cool has been taken away from them. If Jedi become almost irrelevant due to never-ending nerfing, even BH's won't have much "content" to enjoy, all PC Jedi will truly be in hiding or simply not leave the game.

It seems rather odd that everything in the game has always been overshadowed by the Jedi question -- from "Wonder if we'll ever see any players becoming Jedi" to "Wow, Jedi is really powerful - but then there's permadeath to worry about" to "There's too many of them! ".

Jedi dominated most people's minds when we didn't know if anyone would ever "become a Jedi", dominated them during the long hologrind, and later on, the Village... the Jedi/BH game mechanics and related issues of balance... blah blah blah blah blah

So yeah, I think to me personally it makes more sense to hate everything that SOE has done with the Jedi "profession" rather than with any person who has a Jedi or is working towards Jedi.

Again you fail to understand my post.

We are talking about Jedi so of course I will refer to the Jedi boards.

I don'tjugde the poster by his/hers icon as you obviously do, I read what they are writing and make up an opinion based on that.

As a result of this process, I can see if he/she is speaking from a Jedi point if view.

And I am sure even you are capable to agree that the majority of posts here contain whining about how less powerful Jedi have become.

Read between the lines and the point in my post is very clear.

The fact that you replied like you did, just shows me that I'm not the one wearing blinders.

No prob, I honestly use to say pre CU, BH needed to be a lot more powerful than it was. Not in an uber sense that it was the first week of release if anyone remembers that. BH was easily the best profession. But I'd rather see them get a bonus to hit jedi more often than a normal profession, not necessarily hit them harder but the chance to hit instead of taking away our saber block. Give them say a +40 to bonus at Master Bounty Hunter so that would thin out the hybrid BHs and it would actually impliment the jedi to have skill in fighting a bounty hunter. I honestly didn't like the old Lightsaber damage, it gave jedi an unfair advantage. Yes lightsaber was only blockable by 1 thing in the books but at least give everyone else a chance to stand up against you. I like the fact that it got changed to energy damage, thats what it should have been to start with, not kinetic. All the needed to do in the old system was take out LS resistant PSGs, make LS into energy damage just give them a little more damage on them, the original range ofdamage, around 1100-1200 so the average hit would be around 170 with80% compositeand pvp reduction, and raise the to hit bonus for BHs... that would've solved almost every problem people had with jedi.

Just to show everyone the math...

Dervish 2 is a x3 damage bonus so say you had a 1100 damage saber x 3 = 3300 / 75% = 825 / 80% = 160 damage.

The biggest flaw in this game is the way it's been marketed, by jedi and bounty hunters, it seems that it's the onlyway for SOE to getnew customers and it's the wrong way. Come on, hell it's the biggest licence out there, is this the best you can do?

Also as long as the player bounties are in this game, it will sank like a ton of bricks becouse the animosity will not go away and it will be the downfall of this game. It will just nerf itself to death and after the dust settles there are no jedi left to be hunted and soon no bounty hunters either.

I never went for BH becouse i just didn't want to allow myself to hunt for a player who might not want to be hunted, hell i'm just that nice of a guy. Forced PvP has always been and will be a poor game implementation becouse the good aspects of it will be always shadowed by the bad ones.

A compromise perhaps?

Bring back holocrons, but don't make them go silent. You have to complete, oooh, let's say 10 holocron professions (chosen by the holos at random and not to include afk enabled profs) BEFOREyou start on the Village part of becoming FS.

This way it's a little harder, but it's still attainable and will also give people a better grounding in the overall game.

Just an opinion. Look forward to hearing others.

There are a lot of Jedi in the game now but then the game is over 2 years old. I think this was always going to be the case whatever system was actually in place. I don't think we can say it was ever in doubt that there eventually there would be 'too many'. 'Too many' is also a different number/experience that depends on the poster/players opinion.

Game systems should still be in place though that makes it risky for Jedi to stand around in public places with robes and sabers out. This is my number one complaint about the Jedi population (based on my own opinion). I never do out in public with my robe or saber and for the most part keep my self vis free (personal choice).

In my opinion and from my perspective this is what I 'hate' the most about Jedi. It doesn't ruin my game but I would rather not see them. I'd rather not see them dueling and or smack talking etc etc...

This is just my opinion though and everyone is entitled to differ with it ... we all pay the subs at the end of the day.
