I know what you mean. I always pictured Jedi being 4-5 to a server. Now the only things that are that rare are normal players.
Everyone envisioned that as long as they were one of the 4 or 5......
hey thanks for bringing this thread down to the negative flaming we all love so much.
I unlocked before publish 9, and was part of these "powerful Jedi". What I wonder is, if you all want permadeath back so badly, and the developers finally caved in and gave it to you back with all the "power" we used to have, how long would it take before all of you started crying to bring back the current system when you lose your Jedi? How long would it take before the insane whining begins, since we'd also need to bring back death in PvE counting against that death count as well? What about those BH gank squads, surely they would have to come back to since we're more powerful again right?
Yes, my vision shows a future of whining Jedi, like those of today wanting permadeath and power, to revert to our current system and power levels. Ah it is so clear now. ![]()
Interesting, the correspondents have been having a discussion about this very thing. Here are my thoughts on this subject.:
IMHO, all the non-PvP Jedi have hurt the profession immensely. They have wanted faster and quicker access to Jedi (the village, and easy experience). They have wanted faster and quicker way of leveling their Jedi (no visibility in groups, and group exp. ease in spin groups). They have wanted the BH missions to be less effective (Move Jedi missions to MBH, no names, and no bounty amount tied to Jedi's levelon terminals). They wanted it to be less risky to be a Jedi (no Saber TEF, no skill loss etc.).
They have gotten all that. As a result the profession itself has gotten nerfed to hell and back, and it is no longer an elite-elite profession that is hard to get, hard to level, and risky to boot. Therefore, the power of the profession has been curtailed to fall in line with other elite professions.

I think hes right. So when does sony take a stand and say no, this will be like this and we will stand by that?
Sony already took their stand, and we've been dealt the profession they want to give us. You must understand, the majority of the player base (most of which either have Jedi or are working towards it) are NOT PvP players. As such, when you have a large group of people not necessarily into PvP migrating to a profession that was full-time PvP (at Knight), things are going to change. Not everyone has liked the changes for sure, as they want their Jedi to be uber and elite, but you must play with what's been dealt to you or move onto another game if you don't like it.
From a personal standpoint, do I like the lesser version of my Jedi? Nope, I wish I had my pre-CU and pre-9 power level back sure. However, I also understand the concept of "balance" (whatever there is) in a multi-player game and the need for it. Therefore I can live with what my Jedi has become if it is for the benefit of the game.
